Vines will start Monday's game against the Astros, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The 25-year-old was called up by Atlanta on Friday but wasn't needed out of the bullpen in Miami this weekend, so he's now in line to fill the rotation spot that was opened when Spencer Strider (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list. Vines posted a 3.98 ERA over 20.1 frames in his first taste of the majors last season, and he got off to a solid start at Triple-A Gwinnett in 2024 with a 3.75 ERA and 11:3 K:BB in two outings.

Liberatore will be unavailable with an illness for the third straight day Sunday against the Diamondbacks, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Liberatore was sent home Thursday with an illness that had him nauseous and will not be available to pitch against the Diamondbacks. The reliever, who currently has a 3.52 ERA, will reconvene with the team Monday as they travel to Oakland to face the Athletics, though his availability to pitch in that series is still unknown.

Treinen (chest) has yet to face hitters and remains weeks away from a return, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Treinen was hit in the chest by a comebacker during a spring appearance March 9 and has progressed slowly toward a return. The right-handed reliever resumed throwing March 30, but since he hasn't yet pitched to hitters, it's not clear when he may be able to embark upon a minor-league rehab assignment. Once he does get clearance to begin pitching in games again, Treinen will likely need to participate in multiple minor-league outings before he's ready to join the big-league bullpen given how much time he's already missed.

Single-A Dunedin placed Barriera (arm) on its 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Barriera landed on the IL just three days after he exited his season debut with Dunedin midway through the second inning due to an apparent left arm injury. The 20-year-old southpaw is facing an unclear timeline for a return to the mound.

The Guardians will activate Curry (illness) from the 15-day injured list to start Monday's game against the Red Sox, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Cleveland will be welcoming two new additions to its rotation this week, as Ben Lively (illness) is in line to return from the IL to start Wednesday's game in Boston. The Guardians are expected to have room for only one of the two pitchers in the rotation after the four-game series with the Red Sox, however, as a doubleheader with the Yankees on Saturday created a temporary need for a sixth starter. Curry, who stretched out to 4.1 innings in his latest rehab start with Triple-A Columbus this past Wednesday, would likely serve in a long-relief role if he's moved to the bullpen following Monday's start.

The Phillies reinstated Kerkering (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Sunday.

Right-hander Nick Nelson was optioned to Lehigh Valley to clear a spot on the 26-man roster for Kerkering, who is set to make his 2024 debut for the Phillies whenever he's able to get in a game. Though he was officially placed on the IL coming out of spring training with a right forearm strain, his season debut was delayed mostly because he missed extensive time during camp while recovering from a severe case of the flu. Kerkering dazzled over his four rehab appearances between the Single-A and Triple-A levels, however, tossing 4.1 scoreless frames while striking out 10 batters. He looks poised to immediately step into a high-leverage role out of the Philadelphia bullpen.

The Pirates recalled Ryan from Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday.

Ryan will rejoin Pittsburgh's 26-man active roster as a replacement for southpaw Marco Gonzales (forearm), who was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. The right-hander reliever has previously made four appearances out of the Pirates bullpen this season, logging a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 5.1 innings.

The Mets optioned Sulser to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

New York selected Sulser's contract Monday, and he allowed four runs with a 4:3 K:BB over 3.2 frames in three appearances. Tyler Jay was also sent down Sunday, with Jose Butto and Grant Hartwig being called up from Syracuse as corresponding moves.

The Mets recalled Hartwig from Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

The right-hander will join the Mets despite allowing four earned runs over six innings to begin the season at Syracuse. Hartwig made his MLB debut last season and had a 4.84 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 30:15 K:BB in 28 appearances.

The Brewers placed Bukauskas on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a right lat strain.

Bukauskas picked up his first hold of the season Saturday in Baltimore after he allowed a hit and no runs over two-thirds of an inning, but he'll now be out for a least the next two weeks due to the lat injury. Jared Koenig will take his place in Milwaukee's bullpen.
