Phillips gave up a hit and three walks in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record his sixth save of the season in a 4-1 win over the Nationals. He struck out two.

The right-hander threw only 16 of 32 pitches for strikes in a shaky appearance, but Phillips got a bit lucky when Luis Garcia was caught in a rundown between third base and home plate rather than scoring on a CJ Abrams single. Phillips then erased a bases-loaded jam by fanning Jesse Winker to end the game. The Dodgers' closer had issued only one free pass in his first 8.2 innings this season, so the sudden control issues aren't a concern just yet. Phillips has yet to blow a save chance in 2024 while posting a 0.93 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 11:4 K:BB through 10 appearances.

Wilson (1-2) allowed two earned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out one across 0.2 innings to blow the save and take the loss Tuesday against the Twins.

Wilson has picked up two holds this season and has held a high-leverage role in the Chicago bullpen. He's had plenty of success -- eight of his 10 appearances have been scoreless-- but he ran into trouble in a save situation Tuesday. Wilson entered the game in the ninth inning with a one-run lead but immediately served up a game-tying home run to Byron Buxton. He got into more trouble before ultimately allowing a game-winning knock to Alex Kirilloff. The White Sox have only three saves as a team this season, but Wilson could get in the mix when Michael Kopech is used in high-leverage situations rather than in the final frame.

Kopech allowed two earned runs on two hits and no walks while striking out two to earn a hold Tuesday against the Twins.

Kopech was used in the eighth inning, and he primarily matched up against the top of the Twins' lineup. He allowed a leadoff single and later in the inning served up a two-run home run to Trevor Larnach. Kopech still maintained a one-run lead for the White Sox to earn his first hold of the season. The sample of the team maintaining a lead late in games is small, but it appears that manager Pedro Grifol is comfortable using Kopech in the highest-leverage situations rather than using him solely in save situations.

Lawrence secured his first save of the season Tuesday in a 7-4 win over the Padres after pitching a scoreless ninth while allowing one hit.

Lawrence's save Tuesday was just the second save by a Rockies pitcher this season, with Jake Bird getting the other back on April 8. Lawrence has now picked up a win and a save in his last two appearances and hasn't let up an earned run since April 10. His ERA is inflated by one rough outing earlier this month, as he now owns a 6.23 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 9:4 K:BB in 9.2 innings.

Doval retired both batters he faced with one strikeout to earn the save in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Mets.

Doval entered the game with runners on the corners and one out after Tyler Rogers allowed a double and two singles before being replaced. Doval made easy work of both hitters he faced, getting Joey Wendle to strike out before inducing a one-pitch groundout to end the game. The 26-year-old closer has converted all four of his save opportunities thus far and owns a 3.52 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB in 7.2 innings.

Moll allowed two hits and struck out two over a scoreless ninth inning in Tuesday's 8-1 win over the Phillies.

Moll was activated off the injured list and made his season debut after dealing with a left shoulder impingement that delayed his offseason throwing program. Tuesday's blowout win gave manager David Bell a chance to introduce Moll in a low-leverage situation. The left-hander was brilliant for the Reds in 2023; Cincinnati acquired him from Oakland on Aug. 1, and he logged a 0.73 ERA over 25 appearances.

McArthur allowed one hit and one walk over two scoreless innings to earn a save in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Only two men were able to reach base against McArthur despite the 27-year-old pitching an additional inning Tuesday, though he failed to register a strikeout. The right-hander now has five saves on the young season and seems to have cemented himself as the Royals' primary closer.

Trivino (elbow) is doing well in his rehab from Tommy John surgery, according to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, and the veteran reliever is likely about two weeks away from beginning live batting practice sessions, per MLB.com.

Trivino is coming up on the one-year mark of his elbow surgery, which took place May 3, 2023. The right-hander threw bullpen sessions during spring training and has since continued to progress through his throwing program. Should he continue to move forward without any setbacks, Trivino could return to the Yankees bullpen around the All-Star break.

Allen picked up the save Tuesday against St. Louis, allowing one hit and one walk with two strikeouts over three scoreless innings.

The Diamondbacks needed only two arms during Tuesday's 14-1 rout, with Allen taking over for starter Tommy Henry in the seventh and closing out the game. The save was Allen's first of his five-year MLB career (34 appearances), and the outing marked his second appearance with the D-Backs this season.

Barlow (1-2) struck out one without allowing a baserunner over two-thirds of an inning to earn the win Tuesday over the Red Sox.

Barlow entered with one on and one out in the top of the seventh inning. The baserunner, Rob Refsnyder, was erased when he was caught stealing, and Barlow struck out Enmanuel Valdez to end the inning. The Guardians then rallied ahead in their half of the frame. After a rough start to the season, Barlow has limited opponents to one run on three hits and a walk over his last 5.1 innings. It is notable that he entered the game with the Guardians behind while Hunter Gaddis, who has worked himself into the late-inning mix, pitched the eighth. Barlow is at a 4.09 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 13:7 K:BB through 11 innings overall, adding a save and five holds through 12 appearances.
