Sean Guenther: Hits free agency

Jason Foley RP | DET
Jason Foley: Becomes free agent
Foley (shoulder) was non-tendered by the Tigers on Friday.

Dugan Darnell RP | COL
Dugan Darnell: Non-tendered by Tigers
Darnell (hip) was non-tendered by Detroit on Friday.
The Tigers claimed Darnell off waivers in mid-November, but his time with the club was short-lived. He'll become a free agent as he continues to recover from hip surgery that he underwent in mid-September.

J.T. Brubaker RP | SF
Giants' JT Brubaker: Re-signs with Giants
Brubaker signed a one-year contract with the Giants on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Brubaker enjoyed his most successful season in the majors while working primarily as a reliever in 2025, logging a 3.77 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 28.2 innings between the Yankees and Giants. The 32-year-old righty will likely compete for a rotation spot during spring training, though he could also be used as a long reliever again if he misses the cut.

Tayler Saucedo RP | SEA
Tayler Saucedo: Parts ways with Seattle
The Mariners non-tendered Saucedo on Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
The left-hander was designated for assignment by Seattle earlier this week and will now hit the open market. Saucedo gave up 11 earned runs over 10 relief appearances for the Mariners in 2025, so he spent most of the campaign at Triple-A Tacoma.

Trent Thornton RP | SEA
Trent Thornton: Non-tendered by Mariners
The Mariners non-tendered Thornton on Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Thornton's 2025 season came to an abrupt halt in late July after he tore his left Achilles tendon. Prior to the injury, Thornton posted five holds along with a 4.68 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 32:14 K:BB across 42.1 innings while operating out of the bullpen. Thornton's expected timeline to recover was estimated as 6-to-8 months after undergoing surgery in August, which will impact his availability for spring training should he sign with a team.

Elijah Morgan RP | CHC
Eli Morgan: Parts ways with Cubs
The Cubs non-tendered Morgan on Friday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Morgan gave up 10 earned runs over just 7.1 innings with the Cubs before landing on the injured list in mid-April with an elbow impingement. He wasn't able to recover in time to make another appearance in the big leagues during the regular season, and he'll now look to free agency for his next gig. The 29-year-old righty is just one year removed from recording a 1.93 ERA over 42 innings with the Guarduans, so he may still attract a fair amount of interest in the open market.

Scott Effross RP | NYY
Scott Effross: Non-tendered by Yanks
The Yankees did not tender Effross a contract for 2026 on Friday, making him a free agent.
Effross was filling a high-leverage role for the Cubs when he was acquired by the Yankees in 2022, but he was unable to stay healthy the next two seasons and spent most of 2025 at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The right-hander gave up 10 earned run over 11 big-league appearances last year and also struggled to a 6.67 ERA over 29.2 innings at Triple-A.

Colin Holderman RP | PIT
Colin Holderman: No contract from Pittsburgh
Holderman was non-tendered by the Pirates on Friday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
Holderman was DFA'd by the Pirates early in the week after struggling mightily with the club in 2025, maintaining a 7.01 ERA and 1.95 WHIP across 25.2 innings. He's been more effective in the past, so he should be able to land at least a minor-league deal at some point this winter.

Dauri Moreta RP | PIT
Dauri Moreta: Officially becomes free agent
Moreta was non-tendered by the Pirates on Friday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
Moreta spent most of his 2025 season in the minors, but he did maintain a 3.24 ERA with a 19:7 K:BB across 16.2 innings in Pittsburgh. He was also solid in 2023, so he should be able to land a new deal around the league.
