McArthur earned a save in both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, pitching two total innings during which he gave up one run on three hits while striking out two batters.

McArthur gave up a Paul Goldschmidt solo homer and a Nolan Arenado single in the first game of the twin bill but managed to get through the ninth frame in 15 pitches. That left him fresh enough to be called upon again in the ninth inning of Game 2, and he finished off that contest in 19 pitches without yielding a run. McArthur thus became the first Kansas City pitcher with two saves in one day since Greg Holland in 2013. McArthur went through a stretch between June 7 to 23 during which he didn't record a single save (or get a single save opportunity), but since then he's registered five saves while giving up just one run over 7.2 frames.

The Royals returned Pennington to Triple-A Omaha following Wednesday's doubleheader against St. Louis.

Pennington didn't pitch in either of Wednesday's games while serving as the Royals' 27th man. He's been a reliable option for Omaha, however, posting a 2.22 ERA and 0.96 WHIP alongside an 81:21 K:BB through 56.2 innings. Should Kansas City need to bring another fresh arm into its bullpen, the 26-year-old southpaw would be a likely candidate for promotion.

Beeks allowed two runs on three hits over one inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Reds.

Victor Vodnik gave up a solo home run to lead off the ninth inning, creating a save situation. Beeks entered the contest and had trouble getting things under control, but he ultimately had enough runway to work with. Over his last seven appearances, Beeks has given up nine runs (eight earned) with a 5:1 K:BB over 7.2 innings, converting three of his five save chances in that span. He's at nine saves, five holds and six blown saves this season while pitching to a 4.40 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 34:17 K:BB through 45 innings overall. With a weak bullpen and a bottom-five record in the majors, save chances are likely to be limited for Colorado, and the team's committee approach makes it tough to roster any of its high-leverage options.

Foley earned a save in Wednesday's win over the Guardians, walking one and recording the final two outs in the ninth inning.

Foley was summoned to protect a 5-4 lead with one out in the ninth inning and stranded a runner on third to secure his 15th save in 17 attempts. It was a gutsy effort, as he entered Wednesday having yielded four earned runs over his previous four appearances. On the season, the 28-year-old owns a 3.41 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 24:10 K:BB over 31.2 innings.

Munoz earned a save against the Padres on Wednesday, walking two and striking out two over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Munoz struck out Jurickson Profar with two outs in the eighth inning and worked around two walks in the ninth to secure his 15th save of the season. The righty has yielded just one earned run over his past 10 appearances and is 15-for-17 in save chances this season. He owns a 1.45 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 45:16 K:BB over 37.1 innings.

Garcia (elbow) didn't make a rehab appearance Wednesday with Triple-A Buffalo as planned due to neck stiffness, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Garcia's rehab appearance has now been pushed back twice due to the neck issue that popped up Tuesday. He threw a side session instead to make up for not getting into a game and is now slated to pitch for Buffalo on Thursday, barring any further setbacks.

Duran picked up the save in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the White Sox, striking out a pair in a perfect ninth inning.

Duran's held opponents scoreless in his last seven appearances, striking out seven while notching three saves in that span. Overall, the right-hander's ERA is down to 3.03 with a 0.98 WHIP and 28:10 K:BB across 29.2 innings this year.

The Rockies reinstated Bird (groin) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Bird has been on the injured list since June 26 due to a right groin strain. He's since thrown one rehab inning in Triple-A, surrendering three hits but allowing none to score, and he'll remain with the Isotopes now that he's fully recovered. The 28-year-old righty owns a 6.26 ERA and 1.87 WHIP in 23 MLB innings, so he'll likely need to show consistent success in the minors before he's invited back into the Rockies' bullpen.

Atlanta recalled Lee from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

Lee was dispatched to the minors on Monday, and he'll now be called upon to replace AJ Smith-Shawver, who was optioned to Triple-A. Lee has emerged as a reliable option out of the bullpen for Atlanta, logging a 2.00 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 36 innings, though the amount of talent in the team's bullpen has limited him to a middle-relief role.

The Angels recalled Rosenberg from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.

Rosenberg has spent all season in the minors, where he's posted a 3.74 ERA and 1.23 WHIP across 77 innings over 14 starts. Although he's served exclusively as a starter during his time in Salt Lake this year, he'll likely be moved to the bullpen upon joining the Angels. Davis Daniel was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move
