Tyson Miller RP | CHW
Mets' Tyson Miller: Optioned to Syracuse
The Mets optioned Miller to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.
Miller earned a win in relief Monday against the Pirates, but he threw 31 pitches during that appearance and wasn't going to be available for a bit. Jose Butto will take his place in the Mets' bullpen ahead of Tuesday's game versus Pittsburgh.

Joe La Sorsa RP | PIT
Nationals' Joe La Sorsa: Optioned to Rochester
Washington optioned La Sorsa to Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Hunter Harvey RP | CHC
Nationals' Hunter Harvey: Activated from injured list
Harvey (elbow) was activated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Harvey will return to the Nationals' bullpen ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Red Sox after missing about four weeks with a right elbow strain. He'll probably operate mostly as a setup man down the stretch with Kyle Finnegan continuing to flourish in the closer role.

Ryan Walker RP | SF
Giants' Ryan Walker: Sharp as opener once again
Walker struck out four over two scoreless frames while serving as the Giants' opening pitcher in Monday's 10-2 loss to the Rays. He worked around two hits and one walk in the 39-pitch outing.
Walker did his part to the keep the Rays offense at bay, but primary pitcher Tristan Beck (five runs allowed over three innings) was unable to continue the trend once he took over in the top of the third. Expect manager Gabe Kapler to continue making frequent use of Walker as an opener while the Giants have only two locked-in traditional starters at the moment in Logan Webb and Alex Cobb. In nine outings as an opener this season, Walker has produced a 2.40 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 25.0 K-BB% in 15 innings.

Tristan Beck RP | SF
Giants' Tristan Beck: Struggles versus Rays
Beck (3-2) allowed five runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out two over three innings, taking the loss Monday versus the Rays.
Beck took his turn as a bulk reliever Monday, but he couldn't continue the success of opener Ryan Walker, who started the game with two scoreless innings. Beck has lost his last two appearances, and he's at a 6.97 ERA over 10.1 innings across four outings in August. For the season, he has a 3.61 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 49:16 K:BB through 62.1 innings over 25 appearances while adding two saves and a hold, though his current role makes late-inning assignments unlikely. Beck will likely be available to pitch again this weekend in Atlanta, but the Giants' tendency to have as many as three rotation spots working behind openers makes it tough to pinpoint when he might next take the mound.

Tyson Miller RP | CHW
Mets' Tyson Miller: Nabs win in team debut
Miller (1-0) earned the win Monday against the Pirates. He allowed two walks over two scoreless innings.
Miller made a positive first impression in his Mets debut after being called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday. The right-hander worked around a pair of walks, delivering two scoreless innings to earn his first win of the season. Miller now sports a 5.40 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB across 13.1 innings this season between the Mets, Dodgers and Brewers. He'll likely fill a middle-relief role in New York going forward.

Joe Mantiply RP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Joe Mantiply: Opening Tuesday's contest
Mantiply will serve as the Diamondbacks' opening pitcher for Tuesday's game in Colorado, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.
After taking the loss in relief in Monday's series opener at Coors Field while failing to retire any of the three batters he faced en route to allowing three earned runs, Mantiply will get back on the hill Tuesday and attempt to right the ship. He tossed only 11 pitches Monday, so Mantiply should be able to give Arizona an inning or two before turning the game over to the bullpen. Arizona hasn't named a designated bulk reliever for the day, but manager Torey Lovullo could lean heavily on either Slade Cecconi or Bryce Jarvis, both of whom have started in the minors for most of the season and are available on three days' rest.

Cody Bolton RP | HOU
Pirates' Cody Bolton: Sent back to minors
Bolton was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday.
Bolton had been up as the 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader versus the Reds, tossing a scoreless frame in the nightcap. He's struggled overall at the big-league level this season, allowing 11 runs with a 10:11 K:BB over 11 innings.

Daniel Duarte RP | NYM
Reds' Daniel Duarte: Optioned to Triple-A
Duarte was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Monday.
Duarte picked up his first career save in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Pirates, but given he served as the 27th man for the twin bill, he was sent right back down. He's posted a 3.86 ERA with a 16:10 K:BB through 18.2 innings this season.
