Jonathan Loaisiga RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jonathan Loaisiga: Makes spring debut
Loaisiga (elbow) struck out a batter and allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk over one inning of relief Saturday in the Diamondbacks' 8-5 Cactus League win over the Angels.
The 31-year-old made his first appearance of the spring Saturday and looks to be healthy again after a right elbow flexor strain limited him to just 29.2 innings with the Yankees in 2025. Loaisiga joined the Diamondbacks on a minor-league deal this winter but should have a good chance at claiming a spot in an unsettled Arizona bullpen, and potentially even high-leverage duty, if he can emerge from camp healthy.

Bryan Hoeing RP | SD
Padres' Bryan Hoeing: Dealing with elbow discomfort
Hoeing has been shut down after feeling discomfort in his elbow during a recent live bullpen session, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Padres pitching coach Ruben Niebla didn't give a timeline for how long Hoeing will remain shut down, but he said Sunday, "We don't think it's as serious (as it could be), but we have to be conscious and take a look at it and be able to make the right assessments." With Opening Day less than four weeks away, Hoeing's availability for the start of the season is in question, as is that of Yuki Matsui's (groin), which could test San Diego's bullpen depth early. Hoeing hadn't yet appeared in a spring game prior to getting hurt.

Daniel Duarte RP | NYM
Mets' Daniel Duarte: Healthy again after elbow surgery
Duarte (elbow) made his Grapefruit League debut Tuesday in a 6-6 tie with the Astros, retiring one batter while allowing three earned runs on three hits and one walk.
Duarte looks to be healthy again after he missed the entire 2025 season while recovering from UCL revision surgery on his right elbow, which he underwent in May 2024. A poor showing in his spring debut indicates that he may need some time to regain his command. After signing a minor-league deal with the Mets over the winter, Duarte is expected to open 2026 in the Triple-A Syracuse bullpen.

Aaron Bummer RP | ATL
Braves' Aaron Bummer: Makes spring debut
Bummer (shoulder) struck out a batter in a perfect inning of relief in Friday's 15-8 win over the Red Sox in Grapefruit League play.
Bummer is back to full health after spending the final five weeks of 2025 on the shelf due to left shoulder inflammation. The 32-year-old is set to serve as one of Atlanta's top left-handed bullpen options in 2026 after compiling a 3.81 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 51:17 K:BB across 54.1 innings last season.

Hunter Stratton RP | ATL
Braves' Hunter Stratton: Sent to Triple-A
Atlanta optioned Stratton to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.
The right-hander finished 2025 in the big-league bullpen but is set to open the 2026 campaign back in the minors. Stratton made 15 appearances in the big leagues between Pittsburgh and Atlanta last year, posting a 5.21 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB over 19 innings.

Javy Guerra RP | ATL
Braves' Javy Guerra: Cut from big-league camp
Atlanta reassigned Guerra to minor-league camp Sunday.
The 30-year-old righty reliever's removal from big-league camp comes as he's set to join Team Panama ahead of the World Baseball Classic. Guerra didn't make a strong case for a spot in Atlanta's Opening Day bullpen anyway after yielding five earned runs in 2.2 innings across three appearances in the Grapefruit League. He last appeared in the majors in 2023 and is likely to open the season in the Triple-A Gwinnett bullpen.

Paul Sewald RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Paul Sewald: Adds velo
Sewald allowed one run on one hit and struck out one over one inning in Saturday's spring game against the Angels.
Sewald showed improved velocity in his Cactus League debut, which came in the fourth inning against some of the Angels expected starters. The 35-year-old reliever averaged 92 mph on the eight fastballs he threw, a couple of ticks up from the 90 mph he averaged in 2025 and more in line with the velocity he showed in his previous stint with the Diamondbacks. Sewald credited the improved velo to the work he put in at Driveline over the offseason, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports. With Arizona having no set closer at this point in spring training, Sewald is in the mix for save opportunities along with Kevin Ginkel and Ryan Thompson.

Carmen Mlodzinski RP | PIT
Pirates' Carmen Mlodzinski: Vying for rotation spot
Mlodzinski is competing for a spot in the Pirates' rotation, Kevin Gorman of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Mlodzinski is getting another chance to work as a starter, a role he held at the start of 2025 before shifting to the bullpen. He was more effective as a reliever, and the Pirates have a strong projected rotation with several depth options -- a combination that could ultimately lead Mlodzinski back to the bullpen to begin 2026. He's made one start so far this spring, striking out three while allowing only one hit across two shutout innings.

Brandyn Garcia RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Brandyn Garcia: Battling illness
Garcia was taken out of Saturday's Cactus League game against the Angels due to an illness, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Garcia had diminished velocity and poor command over his pitches Saturday, but his performance turned out to be a symptom of illness rather than a physical injury. He'll take the time he needs to recover and should be back pitching in the Cactus League relatively soon.

Brandyn Garcia RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Brandyn Garcia: Exits with trainer
Garcia was removed from Saturday's Cactus League game against the Angels with an apparent injury, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Garcia struggled with his command during his appearance Saturday, as he hit two batters and walked another before getting a visit from the training staff and exiting the game. It's unclear what exactly is bothering the 25-year-old lefty, but the team will take a closer look at him and likely offer an update after the game.
