Padres closer Craig Kimbrel recorded his 26th save of the season during his team's win over the Giants on Monday.

Kimbrel closed out the ninth inning of a 4-2 win with ease and needed just four pitches to do so.

Kimbrel now has a 2.97 ERA with 52 strikeouts and 14 walks in 36 1/3 innings of relief this season.

Diamondbacks pitcher Rubby De La Rosa was effective throughout his start Monday against the Marlins, which the D-Backs won 3-1.

De La Rosa allowed one run on five hits over seven innings of work. He also struck out one. His biggest mistakes were surrendering five walks and a solo home run to Derek Dietrich in the seventh inning.

De La Rosa is now 7-5 with a 4.83 ERA. Monday's win was his first since June 19 and his first quality start since June 25.

After blowing a one-run lead in the ninth inning, Rockies pitcher John Axford was able to receive a win during Monday's 8-7 win over the Rangers. It was his second blown save this season.

Axford allowed one run to score in the ninth inning when he gave up a double to Adrian Beltre. Axford also walked two batters during the appearance, but he was able to get out of the inning. The Rockies won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning on an RBI by Ben Paulsen.

Pirates closer Mark Melancon recorded his MLB-leading 30th save of the season on Monday against the Royals.

Melancon closed out the ninth inning of the 10-7 win with relative ease. He did allow a walk, but also struck out a batter.

Melancon now has a 1.43 ERA in 44 innings of relief this season.

Rockies pitcher Chris Rusin received a no-decision during Monday's start against the Tigers, which the Rockies won 8-7.

Rusin allowed five runs (two earned) on seven hits over six innings of work. He also struck out five and walked one during the outing. He now has a 3.88 ERA.

Rusin is winless in his last four starts.

Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman pitched a perfect ninth inning to record his 19th save of the season during Monday's 5-4 win over the Cubs. He also struck out two batters.

Chapman has converted 19 of his 20 save opportunities this season with a 1.56 ERA.

Mets relief pitcher Rafael Montero threw three scoreless innings in a Rookie League rehab outing on Monday, per ESPN.com.

Montero allowed just three hits and struck out four batters in what was his second rehab appearance as he tries to work his way back from rotator cuff inflammation.

Montero has been on the disabled list since April 19.

The Nationals selected the contract of RHP Abel de Los Santos from Double-A Harrisburg, the team announced on Monday. 

De Los Santos was 4-4 with six saves and a 2.65 ERA at Harrisburg. 

He replaces RHP Blake Treinen, optioned to Triple-A Syracuse. He was 2-2 with a 4.39 ERA with the Nats.

To make room on the 40-man roster, outfielder Jayson Werth was moved to the 60-day disabled list. 

The Padres and Rockies were unable to finish their game on Sunday after a rain delay that lasted over two hours.

The game was called with the Rockies leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth inning. The teams will meet again for a make-up game on Sept. 10, a mutual day off for both clubs.

For the Padres, Ian Kennedy (4-9) will take the mound on Monday against the Giants. Rockies starting pitcher Chris Rusin (3-3) gets the nod to start against the Rangers on Monday.

Braves pitcher Shelby Miller lost his fifth straight decision, Sunday against the Cubs.

Miller dropped to 5-6. He hasn't won since May 17.

Miller allowed three runs, one earned in six innings. He walked four and struck out eight. The four walks were the most he's allowed since June 2.
