Gomez earned his ninth save as he worked around a hit in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Gomez now has five straight saves and six straight scoreless appearances to lower his ERA to a stellar 1.69. He owns a pristine 12:3 K:BB and has given up just one home run this year and has given up just one of his three runs in a save situation.

Rodney struck out two in a perfect ninth en route to his sixth save Tuesday against the Rockies.

That's back-to-back saves against the Rockies for Rodney, who came into a much less stressful situation with a 6-3 lead this time around. He has pitched very well in the closer role early on, albeit in limited opportunities.

Vizcaino picked up his third save with a clean inning, including a strikeout, Tuesday against the Mets.

Vizcaino rebounded from a tough luck blown save in which he allowed an unearned run Sunday against the Cubs. He has yet to give up an earned run in any of his four save opportunities this year. Even though the Braves haven't given him many chances to close out wins, he has been electric, with 16 strikeouts and a 0.87 ERA in 10.1 innings.

Rodney notched his fifth save by pitching a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout Monday against the Rockies.

Rodney was called in to protect San Diego's narrow 2-1 lead, and did so without issue. He is yet to give up an earned run this season, but San Diego's struggles have limited the 39-year-old closer to just five saves thus far.

Nelson (4-2) held the Angels to two runs on four hits and three walks over seven innings with six strikeouts in a win Monday night.

Nelson made one big mistake, a home run allowed to Mike Trout, but was otherwise sharp. He drew 10 swinging strikes and 11 ground-ball outs in holding the Angels lineup in check. Nelson's ground-ball rate is up to 53.8 percent, up from 50.6 percent in 2015 and 48.4 percent in 2014. His control has been shaky (17 walks in 38.1 innnings, 4.0 BB/9), but he'll have a margin of error to work with if he can keep throwing ground balls with regularity. Nelson's ERA is down to 3.05, exactly 2.5 runs better than the next best Brewers starter, Chase Anderson.

De Leon will make his Triple-A Oklahoma City debut Tuesday as he returns from a minor ankle injury, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.

De Leon split time between Double-A Tulsa and High-A Rancho Cucamonga last season and finished the season with a 2.99 ERA and .208 opponent batting average. Oklahoma City will hope he comes out strong, as the lowest ERA among their regular starters is 3.86.

Okert was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Amy Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area reports.

With outfielder Mac Williamson coming up from Triple-A on Monday, the Giants needed to clear a spot on the 25-man roster. Okert will return to Sacramento after posting a 6.35 ERA with six strikeouts across 5.2 major league innings.

Neris recorded the first save of his career in Sunday's win over the Indians.

Neris allowed one run on a solo homer, but didn't allow another baserunner in his inning of work. He was used to close out the game because Jeanmar Gomez had been used four times in the last five days. It looks like Neris is next in line for the closing gig if Gomez falters.

Pomeranz was a tough-luck loser Sunday versus the Dodgers, allowing just one run with five strikeouts and one walk across seven strong innings.

Pomeranz couldn't escape the fifth inning in his previous start, so it was promising to see him complete seven frames for the first time this season. He now has a sharp 2.42 ERA to go along with a 1.14 WHIP and a stellar 11.1 K/9 through five starts, making him a worthwhile fantasy play heading into his next matchup versus the Mets.

Miller lasted just 3.2 innings in Sunday's start against the Rockies, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks. He struck out three as his record dropped to 0-3.

Miller entered the game with a dismal 8.69 ERA through five starts, and while he cruised through three innings, he ran into trouble in the fourth and was ultimately yanked after allowing all three runs. He has simply not had anything going for him this season and should be used with caution even in the face of a soft matchup versus his former team, the Braves, Saturday in his next start.
