Miller (2-12) surrendered four runs on seven hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Saturday. He struck out two.

The 25-year-old Miller has given up four runs in each of his last three starts since making a quality start after he was recalled Aug. 31. The hasn't been a tough-luck loser on a bad team like he was last year with Atlanta; his poor record with Arizona this year is mostly due to just plain poor pitching. Fantasy owners already know his counting statistics are terrible, but his peripherals are just as bad. Lest you think Miller's struggles are related to his home field, his xFIP- (which adjusts for park factors) is still not outstandingly better than his ERA and FIP. The struggling starter is scheduled to next face the Orioles in Baltimore on Friday.

Hoffman will not start Wednesday against the Cardinals, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

The Rockies will instead turn to German Marquez in the series finale against St. Louis. Although the team has not said explicitly that Hoffman is out of its six-man rotation, it would make sense if Hoffman were given at least a temporary breather after a disappointing five-start run to begin his major league career (6.04 ERA, 1.88 WHIP, seven homers allowed in 22.1 innings).

Whalen (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day DL on Saturday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

A return for Whalen this season seemed doubtful and this move officially closes the door on the possibility. Home runs, walks and some unfortunate luck (51 percent strand rate) resulted in a 6.57 ERA for Whalen this season, but he missed bats at a nice clip and should compete for a bullpen role in spring training.

Jansen is dealing with some stiffness in his right wrist, but isn't expected to miss any games because of it, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports. "I'm not sitting. Just [taking] anti-inflammatories," Jansen said after recording his 45th save of the season in Friday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Jansen noted that his wrist has been stiffening up when he begins warming up in the bullpen for his appearances, but the issue is usually remedied after throwing a few pitches. He said he also experienced some soreness after Friday's game, but so long as the wrist doesn't bother Jansen when he's warmed up and on the mound, manager Dave Roberts isn't likely to turn to other options as his closer. Fantasy owners should continue to keep Jansen active over the final weeks of the season.

Moore evened his record at 11-11 after allowing two runs on seven hits in five innings Friday against the Cardinals. He walked three and struck out four.

Moore didn't pitch particularly well, throwing 53 of 93 pitches for strikes, but with the Giants jumping out to a big lead, manager Bruce Bochy didn't need to push him. Control continues to be a problem for Moore in the second half, as his walk rate has ballooned to 5.1 BB/9 since he was acquired at the trade deadline. He's experienced a corresponding uptick in strikeouts as well, so perhaps he's simply overthrowing the ball. He'll try to straighten things out in Wednesday's road start against the Dodgers.

Hernandez tossed 1.2 scoreless innings of relief in Friday's 4-3 win over the Marlins. He allowed two hits and struck out two.

Friday's outing dropped Hernandez's ERA below 4.00 for the first time since mid-June. He has been pitching fairly well since the start of July, going 2-1 with a 3.21 ERA and a 26:14 K:BB in 28 innings.

Chapman (1-1) pitched a perfect 10th inning against the Brewers on Friday, striking out the side on 11 pitches.

After the Cubs had tied the game in the ninth on an Addison Russell infield single, Chapman was called on in the 10th to keep things knotted at 4-4. He complied in impressive fashion, first mowing down the pinch-hitting Jake Elmore, as well as Ryan Braun and Chris Carter. The 28-year-old has been outstanding over his last 10 appearances, giving up just a single earned run over the 10.2 innings covering that span, and successfully converting all seven of his save opportunities.

Stephenson allowed four runs on four hits and four walks while striking out six over five innings against the Pirates on Friday. He did not factor into the decision.

It was a decent enough showing against a good lineup but the control remains a glaring problem. Stephenson has given up 10 runs on 15 hits and seven walks while striking out 17 in 13.1 innings (three starts) since returning from Triple-A Louisville.

Stewart will start Saturday's game against Arizona, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Stewart's move back into the rotation bumps scheduled starter Bud Norris back for at least one day. Stewart will undoubtedly be fresh when he takes the hill Saturday, having last pitched on Sept. 7 when he picked up his first career win against the Diamondbacks. He'll carry a 6.55 ERA and a 1.73 WHIP into Saturday's outing.

De Leon will make his next start Sunday against the Diamondbacks, the LA Times' Andy McCullough reports.

De Leon has a 4.09 ERA and 12:2 K:BB over 11 innings in two big league starts, but the top prospect has struggled to keep the ball in the park, allowing three homers during those starts.
