Iglesias worked around a single and a couple walks over two scoreless innings against the Yankees on Tuesday, netting his sixth save.

As a converted starter, Iglesias has the arm to pitch multiple innings, and manager Bryan Price hasn't been shy about using his closer that way. This marks the Cuban's third two-inning save and fifth two-inning appearance overall. The only thing holding him back from elite fantasy value is the middling number of save chances the Reds have been able to hand him.

Manager Bruce Bochy announced Tuesday that Melancon (elbow) will likely be activated from the disabled list on May 16, NBC Sports Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reports.

Melancon was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday, but the DL stint was backdated such that the closer would be eligible to return as soon as May 16. Bochy also confirmed that Melancon has been dealing with this elbow discomfort for a couple of weeks and had petitioned with team trainers to allow him to pitch through the pain. The Giants ultimately decided to take the safe route with their $62 million closer and give him ample time to heal on the disabled list. Derek Law will take over closer duties in the mean time.

Manager Bruce Bochy announced Tuesday that Law will likely handle the majority of the save opportunities while Mark Melancon (elbow) is on the disabled list, Chris Haft of MLB.com reports.

Melancon is eligible -- and expected -- to be activated from the disabled list on May 16, so Law will assume the Giants' closer role for the next six games. The 26-year-old has posted a 2.40 ERA and 21.2 percent strikeout rate over 15 innings of relief this season. For fantasy owners desperate for saves, Law is worthy of a short-term pickup.

Melancon was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a mild right pronator strain, Andrew Baggarly of the Mercury News Group reports.

This is the first news of Melancon dealing with any sort of elbow discomfort this season. If he has been bothered by this in the past, it hasn't shown on the field, as the closer has only allowed one earned run over his last 10 innings. Hunter Strickland appears to be the most likely candidate to assume the closer role in Melancon's absence, though Derek Law could see some work, as well.

Weigel was promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network reports.

The pitching prospect carried his strong showing at Double-A into this season, as his ERA and WHIP sat at 2.89 and 1.16, respectively, prior to his promotion. Weigel also struck out over a batter per inning in his seven starts in 2017, so he'll look to carry this success into his time as a starter with Gwinnett.

Gomez was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right elbow impingement.

It's unclear when this ailment cropped up, although it does offer some explanation as to why Gomez hasn't been used for five straight days. The move is retroactive to May 6, although it's unclear whether the injury is minor enough to allow him to return after the minimum 10 day stay. More details on this front should come forth as his return date nears.

Tommy Milone, rather than Montero, is in line to start Wednesday's game against the Giants, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Montero was initially listed as the Mets' probable starter for Wednesday, but the team elected to alter their rotation after picking up Milone on a waiver claim over the weekend. Milone was scheduled to throw a bullpen session in front of the Mets' brass Monday, and assuming everything went smoothly, he'll step in as the Mets' fifth starter for the time being while Noah Syndergaard (back) remains on the 60-day disabled list. Montero didn't make a favorable impression while starting in place of Syndergaard on May 5 against the Marlins, surrendering five runs on seven hits and four walks in 3.2 innings.

Hoffman will serve as the Rockies' 26th man for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs, MLB Network Radio reports.

He will be up in case the Rockies need a long reliever in the night game, which Kyle Freeland will start, but should be sent back to Triple-A Albuquerque after the doubleheader. Manager Bud Black said the Rockies are happy with the rotation as is, so Hoffman should remain at Triple-A for the foreseeable future. He has a 3.71 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB in 34 innings in the Pacific Coast League, and will likely get a chance later this season whenever a spot in the rotation opens up.

Clarke, 23, owns a 2.25 ERA and 28:8 K:BB over 28 innings with Double-A Jackson this season.

Clarke, who is in his third season as a professional after being selected out of the College of Charleston in 2015, has shown some noticeable growth in a repeat campaign in the Southern League. In addition to making more bats miss, Clarke is limiting the damage from opposing hitters, who are batting just .198 against him. If the 6-foot-4 right-hander is able to maintain his success through midseason, he'd earn strong consideration for a promotion to Triple-A Reno before 2017 draws to a close.

Moore allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five batters during Monday's loss to the Mets. He did not factor into the decision.

Moore has been a mess on the road this season with a 10.50 ERA and 2.17 WHIP compared to his 3.05 and 1.02 marks at AT&T Park. The lefty has never fully lived up to the hype that accompanied him moving through the minors, and he's now allowed the most earned runs in the National League. A home start against the Reds is up next for Moore.
