  • Marlins' Elieser Hernandez: Takes tough loss

Hernandez (0-1) allowed one run on five hits while striking out three over five innings Monday as he was tagged with the loss against the Mets.

Hernandez put together a decent outing, but he was ultimately hit with the loss after departing with a one-run deficit. Through two starts and four total appearances this season, the 23-year-old right-hander sports a 2.08 ERA and 1.15 WHIP across 13 innings.

  • Nick Pivetta RP | SD

Phillies' Nick Pivetta: Notches fourth win

Pivetta (4-2) picked up his fourth win Monday against the Braves, allowing no runs on four hits and one walk while striking out seven across seven innings.

Following Monday's stellar outing, Pivetta has allowed just one run over the course of his last three starts. He sports a 3.23 ERA and 1.08 WHIP along with 60 strikeouts across 53 innings, and he'll look to ride this hot streak in his next start, which figures to come Sunday against Toronto.

  • Brock Stewart RP | LAD

Dodgers' Brock Stewart: Expected to contribute Tuesday

Stewart will be called up prior to Tuesday's matchup against the Rockies and either start or come out of the bullpen, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Manager Dave Roberts has elected to call up Stewart ahead of Tuesday's matchup, and he'll give Kenta Maeda the nod for Wednesday's game. It's unclear whether Stewart will work in relief or get the start, but he figures to be utilized in some way. The 26-year-old has been near untouchable at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, accruing a 2.08 ERA over 21.2 innings.

  • Alex Reyes RP | LAD

Cardinals' Alex Reyes: Will join rotation once activated

General manager Michael Girsch said Reyes (elbow) will join the Cardinals' rotation when activated from the disabled list, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Reyes, the team's top prospect, is currently working his way back from Tommy John surgery that he underwent in February of 2017. There had been some talk about initially bringing him back as a high-leverage reliever, but his dominance through three minor-league rehab starts -- racking up 31 strikeouts over 16 scoreless innings -- likely persuaded the Cardinals to nix those plans and bring him back as a starter. He's expected to make one last rehab start at Triple-A Memphis on Thursday, and if all goes well, Reyes could be cleared to come off the 60-day disabled list and take the hill May 29 against the Brewers. His return will likely push John Gant from the rotation.

  • Brent Suter RP | ATL

Brewers' Brent Suter: Slated to start Wednesday

Manager Craig Counsell said Suter will start Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Suter will stick in the rotation for at least one more turn with Zach Davies (shoulder) not expected to return until Thursday (at the earliest). The 28-year-old owns a 5.05 ERA across eight starts (41 innings) this season. With Chase Anderson (illness) back from the disabled list and Davies not far behind him, Suter could be headed back to the bullpen after Wednesday's outing.

  • Tyler Webb RP | MIN

Padres' Tyler Webb: Promoted to majors

Webb was recalled from Triple-A El Paso on Monday.

With Robbie Erlin making a spot start for the Padres on Monday, Webb will join the big club to offer an additional arm out of the bullpen in the event that Erlin is unable to work late into the game. The 27-year-old owns a sharp 1.38 ERA and 15:3 K:BB across 13 innings with the Chihuahuas, but his 8.10 ERA across 3.1 innings with the Padres this season will likely limit him to low-leverage work during his time in San Diego. Carlos Asuaje was sent to the minors in a corresponding roster move.

  • Dillon Peters RP | PIT

Marlins' Dillon Peters: Sent back to minors

Peters was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Monday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

Peters was sent back to the minors in order to open up a spot on the roster for Odrisamer Despaigne, who was reinstated from the disabled list in a corresponding move. The 25-year-old southpaw didn't make an appearance during his brief stint with the Marlins. He'll rejoin the Baby Cakes' rotation, where he'll serve as organizational pitching depth.

  • Brock Stewart RP | LAD

Dodgers' Brock Stewart: Likely to replace Hill in rotation

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts acknowledged Sunday that Stewart is the most logical option to assume Rich Hill's (finger) spot in the rotation, Ben Standig of MLB.com reports.

Hill was limited to just two pitches in his start Saturday after a blister on his left middle finger popped, with Roberts stating after the game that it would likely take four weeks before the lefty is ready to rejoin the big club. That could create an extended starting opportunity with the Dodgers for Stewart, though the looming return of Clayton Kershaw (biceps) would presumably result in Stewart or Ross Stripling surrendering a rotation spot. Stewart, who maintains a 2.08 ERA and 1.13 WHIP across 21.2 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, would likely make his first start with Los Angeles on Tuesday or Wednesday against the Rockies.

  • Tim Collins RP | CHC

Nationals' Tim Collins: Summoned to majors

Collins had his contract purchased from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.

Collins will take the roster spot of Ryan Madson (pectoral), who was sent to the disabled list in a corresponding move. The 28-year-old hasn't appeared in the majors since 2014 thanks to a pair of elbow injuries that both required Tommy John surgery, but he owns a respectable 3.54 ERA and 9.4 K/9 across 211 big-league innings (four seasons). Collins should offer another left-handed arm out of the Nationals' bullpen.

  • Jhoan Duran RP | PHI

Diamondbacks' Jhoan Duran: Tosses five shutout innings Sunday

Duran tossed five scoreless frames Sunday for Low-A Kane County in its 3-2 loss to Peoria. He gave up one hit and one walk and struck out four.

Duran's full-season debut was delayed until May 4 while the Diamondbacks deliberately kept him on ice at extended spring training, likely in an effort to limit his innings load. The 20-year-old has thus far impressed in his four outings in the Midwest League, delivering a 3.00 ERA and 0.89 WHIP while striking out 18 over 18 innings. The 6-foot-5 righty is one of the higher-upside arms in the lower rungs of the Arizona farm system but is probably at least two years away from getting a look in the majors, even if he continues to perform at a high level.
