Tyler Beede RP | CHC
Giants' Tyler Beede: Summoned from minors
Beede was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Beede will take the roster spot of Jeff Samardzija (shoulder), who was sent to the disabled list in a corresponding roster move. The 25-year-old has struggled in a pair of starts for the big club this season, allowing seven runs on nine hits and eight walks across 7.2 innings. He'll likely work in long relief during his time with the Giants, though he could be an option to make a spot start in place of Samardzija as well.

Dereck Rodriguez RP | ATL
Giants' Dereck Rodriguez: Could start Sunday
Rodriguez (leg) could start Sunday's game against the Phillies, Henry Schulman of SFGate.com reports.
He took a line drive off his right leg Tuesday against the Rockies, but not before giving up four runs (only one earned) off five hits and one walk while striking out four over 3.1 innings. Rodriguez had logged a 3.40 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 53 strikeouts in 50.1 innings (nine starts) at Triple-A prior to his promotion. He was essentially a non-prospect before the season, but may have unlocked something after joining the Giants this past offseason, as his strikeout rate was up from 19.3 percent in 2017 at Double-A in the Twins organization to 25 percent in his first taste of Triple-A as a San Francisco farmhand. Even if he gets the start Sunday, it would likely amount to a spot start unless he really impressed, as the Giants rotation is expected to get back Madison Bumgarner (finger) and Jeff Samardzija (shoulder) next week.

Ty Blach RP | CHC
Giants' Ty Blach: Out of rotation?
Blach will either start Sunday's game against the Phillies or be confined to a relief role going forward, Henry Schulman of SFGate.com reports.
The Giants announced that Chris Stratton and Andrew Suarez will start Friday and Saturday, which suggests Blach may be on the outs, as he had been following Stratton in the rotation. Blach was used out of the bullpen in Tuesday's 11-4 loss in Colorado, which could have just been him throwing in between starts, but now that looks less likely. Rookie Dereck Rodriguez (leg) could be an option to start Sunday if he is deemed healthy, otherwise that start could go to Blach. However, Madison Bumgarner (finger) is expected to rejoin the rotation next week and Jeff Samardzija (shoulder) could be back next weekend, at which point Blach will either join the bullpen full time or be sent to Triple-A.

Alex Reyes RP | LAD
Cardinals' Alex Reyes: Says he's fine after early exit Wednesday
Reyes said he felt fine following Wednesday's start against the Brewers, Mark Saxon of The Athletic St. Louis reports.
Reyes said he wasn't sure why his velocity dipped during his 2018 big-league debut Wednesday, but the 23-year-old didn't seem overly concerned about the issue. "I felt fine, a little fatigued but anything beside that, I wasn't really worried about," the right-hander said. "I'm not really worried about it now." He's currently lined up to make his next start against the Marlins on Tuesday after tossing four scoreless frames -- striking out four while allowing three hits and two walks -- against the Brewers on Wednesday.

Carl Edwards RP | DET
Cubs' Carl Edwards Jr.: Placed on DL with shoulder inflammation
Edwards was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with right shoulder inflammation, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
He felt discomfort after pitching in Tuesday's game and had an MRI, which showed inflammation. Edwards had a 5.56 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 11.1 innings in May. Cory Mazzoni was brought up from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Alex Reyes RP | LAD
Cardinals' Alex Reyes: May have left with injury
Reyes may have left Wednesday's start against the Brewers with an injury, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
There was a noticeable drop in his velocity from inning to inning, but he got back up to 96 mph and threw 95 mph on his final out. It is unclear what the exact nature of the injury is at this point, or if his exit was even injury related. He threw four scoreless frames, giving up three hits and two walks while striking out four. Reyes threw 73 pitches -- 42 for strikes.

Chris Rusin RP | COL
Rockies' Chris Rusin: Scuffling since returning from DL
Rusin has allowed a run in all but one of his seven appearances since returning from the disabled list.
Entering the month of May, the long reliever possessed a middling 4.97 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. Those figures have ballooned to 7.29 and 1.57, respectively, following Saturday's debacle against the Reds in which he allowed two runs and failed to record an out. Rusin was quietly one of the Rockies' top relievers last season, producing a 2.65 ERA in 85 frames, but he hasn't been able to recapture that feel at all this year. It's unclear if the intercostal strain that sidelined him in April is still affecting him or not, though it would go a long way in explaining his struggles.

Carlos Estevez RP | KC
Rockies' Carlos Estevez: Nearing return to throwing
Estevez (elbow) hopes to resume playing catch soon, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
The hard-throwing right-hander was placed on the 60-day disabled list in April due to a strained UCL, but it seems like he's recovering nicely from the injury. Estevez was recently in Denver with the team getting evaluated by the Rockies' trainers, and it doesn't seem like any bad news came from the visit. Given that he hasn't resumed playing catch yet, he still seems to be at least a few weeks away from a full return to action.

Raisel Iglesias RP | ATL
Reds' Raisel Iglesias: Returns from DL
Iglesias (biceps) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Wednesday.
Iglesias ended up on the 10-day disabled list with a left (non-throwing) biceps injury May 23, but he'll return to the bullpen after missing the minimum. The 28-year-old right-hander figures to resume his role as the Reds' closer immediately.

Shelby Miller RP | CHC
Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Impresses in first rehab start
MIller (elbow) covered five innings and gave up one run for High-A Visalia in his first rehab start Tuesday. He surrendered four hits and no walks and struck out eight.
After a couple of starts at extended spring training, Miller pitched in a non-controlled setting Tuesday for the first time since April 23, 2017, when he exited a start against the Dodgers with forearm tightness that later required Tommy John surgery. Perhaps most impressive about Miller's first rehab outing was his impeccable control, as he tossed 52 of his 65 pitches for strikes. Miller is slated to make at least one more start in the minors before potentially coming off the 60-day disabled list and rejoining the Arizona rotation in early-to-mid June.
