Suarez was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Suarez made just one appearance during his most recent stint in the majors, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk while striking out two across 1.2 innings of relief. In a corresponding roster move, Williams Jerez was summoned from the minors.

Wilson was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday.

Wilson was called up to start Tuesday against the Brewers but failed to impress, allowing four runs in four innings. He remains an interesting prospect but has been poor in 18.2 big-league innings this season, recording a 6.75 ERA, an 18.8 percent strikeout rate and an 11.8 percent walk rate.

Sims was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

Sims figures to provide bullpen depth for the Reds while David Hernandez (shoulder) is on the mend. The right-hander has worked strictly as a starter this season, so he should offer length out of the bullpen. Prior to earning a promotion, Sims compiled a 4.56 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 102:36 K:BB in 16 starts for Louisville.

Hernandez was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with right shoulder fatigue.

The injury could help explain Hernandez's recent struggles, as the right-hander has allowed 14 earned runs on 15 hits and five walks over his last 4.1 innings (eight appearances). Hernandez will get at least the next 10 days to rest and recover, while Lucas Sims was summoned from the minors to take his place in the bullpen.

Alzolay exited his start with Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday due to "slight biceps soreness," Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register reports.

Alzolay allowed five runs prior to exiting in the bottom of the fourth inning with the injury. While the issue doesn't appear to be overly serious, the Cubs will likely proceed cautiously with the 24-year-old. It remains to be seen whether Alzolay will be forced to miss a start due to the injury.

The Dodgers officially recalled Ferguson from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Ferguson arrived in Philadelphia as a member of the taxi squad ahead of Thursday's series finale with the Phi;lies, but the Dodgers didn't decide until shortly before first pitch to formally activate him. He'll assume the active roster spot of Casey Sadler, who was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Ferguson may only stick around with the Dodgers until the team's other relievers are sufficiently rested.

Manager Dave Roberts said Jansen's injured right ankle is "significantly better," David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports. Jansen is expected to be available out of the Los Angeles bullpen for Thursday's game against the Phillies.

Jansen bruised his ankle en route to blowing a save in disastrous fashion Tuesday, as he served up three runs on four hits while recording just one out in the losing effort. After getting Wednesday off to recover, Jansen has apparently healed as anticipated and should slot back in as closer for the Dodgers if a save situation arises in the series finale.

Ferguson joined the Dodgers in Philadelphia ahead of Thursday's game against the Phillies but hasn't been formally recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

After five relievers were needed to cover the final seven innings of Wednesday's 7-2 win, the Dodgers could activate Ferguson ahead of the series finale if manager Dave Roberts feel the team could benefit from a fresh arm out of the bullpen. Over 22 appearances (one start) with Los Angeles this season, Ferguson has posted a 5.48 ERA and 28:13 K:BB in 23 innings.

Reyes (pectoral) is doing rehab work at the team's spring training facility in Jupiter, Fla., but remains without a firm timetable for return to Triple-A Memphis, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

The promising right-hander threw on the side last week and has also been playing catch regularly without any reported setbacks. However, the Cardinals are being cautious with Reyes, who already dealt with fractured pinkie finger earlier in the season. Manager Mike Shildt is keeping a close eye on his young charge, given the frustration Reyes has already endured during a season in which he's generated a 6.03 ERA in 12 games (nine starts) with the Redbirds. "He's making baby steps," Shildt said. "Not as many steps as he'd like moving forward. Making sure he's in a good place mentally, then taking care of things physically. I continue to stay in touch with Alex, check in and see how he's doing."

Pivetta fired 2.1 hitless innings during which he allowed four walks and recorded four strikeouts Wednesday against the Dodgers. He did not factor into the decision.

Pivetta ran into major trouble in the first frame, walking three consecutive batters to load the bases after retiring just one Dodger. He avoided major trouble by setting down the next two men to come to the plate, though he still allowed an earned run. Pivetta had his start cut short by a lengthy rain delay, but should take the ball next on Tuesday at Detroit in a favorable matchup.
