Dodgers' Alex Vesia: Earns first big-league win
Vesia (1-1) earned the win over Arizona on Saturday, pitching a scoreless inning during which he gave up one hit.
The southpaw came into the contest with scored tied 3-3 in the sixth inning. He gave up a one-out single but faced the minimum by subsequently inducing a double play. The Dodgers put up four runs in the top of the seventh, giving Vesia his first win as a major-leaguer. In 19 appearances with the big club this season, Vesia has registered a 3.48 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 24:13 K:BB across 20.2 innings.

Matt Strahm RP | KC
Padres' Matt Strahm: Due back Tuesday
Manager Jayce Tingler said the Padres plan to reinstate Strahm (knee) from the 60-day injured list ahead of the team's two-game series in Oakland that begins Tuesday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Sidelined all season while recovering from the patellar tendon surgery he required for his right knee last October, Strahm kicked off a minor-league rehab assignment just under two weeks ago and has apparently convinced the Padres that he's healthy and ready to contribute out of the bullpen. He was particularly sharp over his last two appearances for Triple-A El Paso, firing 2.2 perfect innings and striking out four between the outings. Given that eight other San Diego relievers currently reside on the IL, Strahm could get the opportunity to pitch high-leverage innings out of the bullpen right away for the big club.

Reiss Knehr RP | SD
Padres' Reiss Knehr: Entering rotation for Paddack
Padres manager Jayce Tingler confirmed that Knehr will start Sunday's game against the Rockies in San Diego, Bob Scanlan of Bally Sports San Diego reports.
Knehr will be plugged into the rotation after he was called up from Triple-A El Paso as a replacement for Chris Paddack, who was placed on the injured list Saturday after tweaking his oblique in a bullpen session. Over his previous two starts with the Padres this season, Knehr has covered 5.1 innings while giving up five earned runs on four hits and six walks.

Daniel Bard RP | COL
Rockies' Daniel Bard: Locks down 16th save
Bard pitched the ninth inning in Saturday's 5-3 win against San Diego, allowing one run on two hits but escaping with the save.
Bard entered in the ninth to protect a three-run lead and surrendered a leadoff double to Jurickson Profar, who eventually came around to score, but Bard was ultimately able to secure the victory. The 36-year-old hasn't quite lived up to his 2020 comeback with a high 4.43 ERA, but at least he has 16 saves, ranking 16th in baseball.

Mitch White RP | MIL
Dodgers' Mitch White: Decent against Arizona
White started Saturday's 8-3 win against Arizona, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 3.2 innings. He didn't factor into the decision.
White made a spot start Saturday as Los Angeles is in a bit of a transition period following a number of roster moves at trade deadline, and he performed as well as LA could have hoped, permitting both runs on a Kole Calhoun two-run home run in the fourth. He's pitched well this season with a 3.75 ERA in 24 innings though it'll be tough for White to remain in the rotation once Los Angeles has all its starters available.

Jesse Chavez RP | ATL
Braves' Jesse Chavez: Nabs second win of the season
Chavez (2-2) worked around a walk in a scoreless inning of relief, picking up the win in Saturday's 8-1 victory over the Brewers.
The journeyman reliever has rattled off 10 straight scoreless appearances. He has also now garnered wins in two straight outings. The 37-year-old will bring a 1.38 ERA into Sunday's game.

Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mets' Edwin Diaz: Picks up victory in extra innings
Diaz (4-4) earned the victory Saturday against the Reds, walking one and striking out a pair in a scoreless inning of work.
Diaz entered a 4-4 game in the 10th inning and immediately uncorked a wild pitch that advanced baserunner Jonathan India to third, followed by a walk to Jesse Winker. Diaz settled in after that, fanning Kyle Farmer and Joey Votto and inducing a Tyler Naquin lineout. Brandon Drury secured the win for Diaz and the Mets in the bottom of the inning, singling home Kevin Pillar for the walkoff victory. Diaz has posted a .380 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 42.2 innings this season while nailing down 23 of 27 save chances.

Matt Strahm RP | KC
Padres' Matt Strahm: Thriving in rehab stint
Strahm (knee) has struck out seven batters in 3.2 innings across three appearances with Triple-A El Paso. He has allowed two hits and two runs, though both have been unearned.
In the left-hander's most recent appearance, he tossed 1.2 perfect innings and threw 17 of 22 pitches for strikes Friday. He has yet to pitch this season after undergoing knee surgery last October, but he could be mere days away from rejoining the big-league bullpen.

Brusdar Graterol RP | LAD
Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Returns to minors
Graterol was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Graterol was called up July 23 and will return to the minors after making five appearances and allowing three runs on five hits with three strikeouts and a walk over five innings. The young flamethrower will head back to the minors in an attempt to straighten things out.
