Jimenez, who was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, fired two perfect innings with four strikeouts over his first two relief appearances with the Aviators on Friday and Sunday. He also recorded a save in the latter outing.

It's a small sample, but the decision to demote Jimenez after a couple of uneven outings earlier in May appears to have been a prudent one. The right-hander has breezed through his first pair of minor-league appearances, and if he continues on a similar track, Jimenez could soon find himself back on the big-league roster.

McArthur allowed a run on one hit and did not walk or strike out a batter over one inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Angels.

McArthur was tagged for a solo home run by Willie Calhoun in the ninth inning, but the Royals' lead was never in real danger. Over 4.2 innings in May, McArthur has yielded six runs (five earned), with three of the eight hits he's allowed in that span leaving the yard. He's 9-for-12 in save opportunities while adding a hold, a 4.42 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP over 18.1 innings this season. The right-hander's shaky pitching of late hasn't cost him the closer job, but John Schreiber has been an excellent setup man and could take over if McArthur doesn't start locking things down.

Jansen picked up the save Sunday against Washington, allowing one hit and no walks over a scoreless ninth inning. He didn't log a strikeout.

Jansen got an assist from catcher Connor Wong, who ended the game by throwing out Jacob Young during an attempted steal of second base. The 36-year-old has converted on seven of his eight save chances, owning a 2.63 ERA with 19 strikeouts over 13.2 innings.

Urena (1-3) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three over 6.2 innings, but he took the loss Sunday versus the Rockies.

Urena pitched well, especially given the unfriendly venue, in his second start of the campaign. He's allowed four runs (three earned) with a 5:3 K:BB over 11.2 innings across two starts since moving into the rotation. Urena has a 3.62 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 21:12 K:BB over 32.1 innings across 12 appearances this season, though he began the year as a long reliever. If Nathan Eovaldi (groin) can return when first eligible May 18, Urena will likely return to the bullpen. A pair of off days (Thursday and Monday, May 20) could also allow the Rangers to get by with a four-man rotation temporarily, though Urena's pitched well enough that it wouldn't be odd to see him get another start.

Kahnle (shoulder) tossed a perfect inning in a rehab appearance with Single-A Tampa on Saturday, striking out one batter.

Kahnle threw of 10 of 15 pitches for strikes in the appearance and got up to 95.5 mph with his sinker, per Conor Foley of YES Network. The veteran reliever has completed two of what is expected to be at least five rehab outings, pitching two perfect frames with three strikeouts thus far. If all goes well for Kahnle during the remainder of his rehab stint, he could join the major-league bullpen within the next two weeks.

Pressly (back) was credited with his fifth hold of the season and gave up one earned run on one hit and one walk across 0.2 innings in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.

Astros manager Joe Espada disclosed Wednesday that Pressly was managing a lower-back issue, but the reliever's appearance one day later suggests that Houston isn't overly concerned about the injury. Pressly has continued to make bats miss with 22 strikeouts over 14.1 innings, but he headed into Sunday's series finale in Detroit with a 5.65 ERA and 1.74 WHIP over his 16 appearances out of the Houston bullpen.

Triple-A Norfolk placed Zimmermann on its 7-day injured list Sunday with a hamstring injury, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Zimmermann presumably suffered the injury during his most recent outing for Norfolk on Saturday. The 29-year-old lefty remains on the Orioles' 40-man roster but has pitched exclusively at the Triple-A level so far this season, logging a 4.35 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 34:13 K:BB across 39.1 innings.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Trivino experienced inflammation in his surgically repaired right elbow in late April and is in the midst of a 3-to-4-week shutdown period, MLB.com reports. "He won't throw for a couple of more weeks, and then [will] start ramping up again," Boone said.

Trivino underwent Tommy John surgery May 3, 2023 and has hit his first snag in the rehab process, but the Yankees don't believe the setback is a major one. The right-hander's surgeon, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, performed imaging on Trivino, and nothing beyond inflammation was detected in his elbow. Assuming the multi-week rest period does its part and allows Trivino's inflammation to calm down, he should begin ramping up by the end of the month or the first week of June. Trivino is likely targeting a return from the 60-day injured list at some point around the All-Star break.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Effross (back) is close to facing hitters again, MLB.com reports.

Effross' last appearance in affiliated ball came Oct. 3, 2022, with the right-handed reliever requiring Tommy John surgery later that month. Though he's fully healed from the elbow surgery, Effross experienced back discomfort last fall and ultimately required a microdiscectomy of his L-4 and L-5 vertabrae. Effross was held back in spring training while he completed his recovery from back surgery, but he seems to have resumed throwing bullpen sessions without issue and should soon take the mound against live hitters. The Yankees are hopeful that Effross will be ready to return from the 60-day injured list at some point during the summer.

Robertson (2-1) had a blown save and was the losing pitcher in Saturday's 8-3 loss to the Rockies. The reliever failed to record an out and was charged with four runs on two hits, a walk and a hit batter.

The usually reliable Robertson entered with the Rangers holding a 3-2 lead, a runner on second base and two outs. As rain began to fall, he yielded a run-scoring single to the first batter he faced. After a wild pitch, another RBI single, a hit batsman and a walk, Robertson was removed with the bases loaded. The right-hander, who entered the game with a 0.87 ERA, threw just 11 strikes among 22 pitches.
