Clase allowed two hits and a walk while striking out one over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Giants.

After a blown save Saturday in Seattle, another shaky outing isn't encouraging. Clase was able to navigate danger after loading the bases with one out in the ninth inning, getting a shallow flyout from Dominic Smith before striking out Casey Schmitt. Clase has allowed multiple baserunners in five of his seven appearances in June, so he's lucky to have given up just two runs over 6.2 innings. He's at a 3.82 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB with 15 saves in 18 chances over 30.2 innings this season.

Hoffman (6-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Arizona, allowing one walk with no strikeouts over a scoreless ninth inning.

Hoffman blanked Arizona in the top of the ninth inning while the Blue Jays trailed 4-3, and back-to-back solo homers by Bo Bichette and Addison Barger allowed Hoffman to pick up his sixth victory of the campaign. Hoffman has allowed at least one run in nine of his 32 appearances this season but has converted on 17 of his 20 save opportunities. He holds a 5.62 ERA in 31 innings with an impressive 43:9 K:BB.

The Yankees optioned Effross to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Effross pitched a scoreless inning during Tuesday's 4-0 loss to the Angels in his first appearance for the Yankees since being recalled from Triple-A last week. He owns a 9.90 ERA in 10 innings over three minor-league levels this season, however, so there's still plenty of work to be done before he begins drawing consideration for a more permanent spot in New York's bullpen.

Burr (shoulder) reported to Single-A Dunedin to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The right-hander was pulled off his rehab assignment in late May and received a cortisone injection to help treat his shoulder inflammation, and he's ready to return to minor-league games after ramping his throwing program back up. Burr has been on the shelf all season due to the shoulder issues and will likely require a handful of appearances in the minors before being cleared for his 2025 debut with Toronto.

Turnbull is expected to pitch during Friday's game against the White Sox, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The Blue Jays aren't ready to divulge whether Turnbull will be used as a traditional starter or bulk reliever, but he will be a big part of the pitching plan for the series opener versus the White Sox. Turnbull has yielded a total of one run with a 2:2 K:BB over 4.1 innings covering two relief appearances for Toronto. He threw 51 pitches in his last outing Sunday versus the Phillies, so Turnbull will not be available for a full starter's workload Friday.

Lauer will start Wednesday's contest versus the Diamondbacks, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Lauer has bounced back and forth between being used as a traditional starter and a bulk reliever since getting called up from Triple-A Buffalo in late April. He's fared better in the latter role with a 0.96 ERA in six appearances, but the Blue Jays will give him a start against Arizona. With Bowden Francis (shoulder) out indefinitely, Lauer could get a long run in the Toronto rotation.

Lange (lat) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A West Michigan on Tuesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Lange had right lat surgery last July and had to be shut down back in April because of upper-arm inflammation. However, he has progressed well since the latter injury and is finally ready to test things out in a game setting. Given how long his layoff has been, Lange's rehab assignment figures to last a few weeks.

Vest (finger) passed all tests and has been declared ready to pitch, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Vest was pulled from Sunday's appearance versus the Reds due to an injury to his right pinkie finger, but it appears he's already put the issue in the rearview mirror. The right-handed reliever leads the Tigers with 12 saves this season.

Weaver (hamstring) threw a 20-pitch live batting practice session Tuesday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

It's the first time Weaver has faced hitters since he landed on the 15-day injured list two weeks ago. The Yankees offered a 4-to-6 week timetable for Weaver when the IL move was made, but the reliever noted Tuesday that he hasn't felt anything in the hamstring since a day or two after he was hurt, so perhaps he can beat that timeline. The ultimate decision will be the club's.

The Blue Jays recalled Schultz from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

The right-hander was sent to Buffalo on June 8 but will rejoin Toronto on Tuesday with Bowden Francis (shoulder) headed to the injured list. Schultz has a 3.06 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB in 17.2 major-league innings across eight appearances (two starts) this year, and he could be a factor in the Blue Jays' rotation while Francis is out.
