Chase Solesky RP | CIN
Rays' Chase Solesky: Dropped from 40-man roster
The Rays designated Solesky for assignment Monday.
Solesky ended up losing his spot on the 40-man roster after the Rays needed to clear room for trade-deadline pickup Tyler Wells. The 28-year-old righty made a three-inning relief appearance in his MLB debut for the Rays back in May but has pitched exclusively at Triple-A Durham ever since. Over 24 appearances (seven starts) at Durham, Solesky owns a 7.03 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 54:22 K:BB in 56.1 innings.

Connor Thomas RP | KC
Royals' Connor Thomas: Goes to Royals via waivers
The Royals claimed Thomas off waivers from the Athletics on Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Omaha.
Thomas didn't throw a pitch for the Athletics after being claimed off waivers last week, and he's now on the move again. The left-hander has been tagged for a whopping 27 runs over 11.2 innings covering four career major-league outings.

Kendry Rojas RP | MIN
Twins' Kendry Rojas: Returns to Triple-A
The Twins optioned Rojas to Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday.
The left-hander last pitched Sunday in Seattle and surrendered three earned runs over one inning. Rojas and his 3.34 ERA over 29.2 innings this season are returning to Triple-A to make room on the big-league roster for trade-acquisition Jeff Hoffman.

Franco Aleman RP | CLE
Guardians' Franco Aleman: Optioned to Triple-A
The Guardians optioned Aleman to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.
Aleman has pitched well during his time in the majors, but he was roughed up for three runs while recording only one out in his last appearance and now finds himself back in the minors. His spot in the bullpen will be taken by Slade Cecconi, who was demoted from the rotation following the Guardians' trade for Foster Griffin.

Blake Weiman RP | LAA
Angels' Blake Weiman: Summoned to big leagues
The Angels selected Weiman's contract from Double-A Rocket City on Tuesday.
Weiman has made only 14 appearances with Rocket City this season due to injury, but he's been effective in allowing five runs (four earned) with a 19:3 K:BB over 15.2 innings. The lefty will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

Ben Joyce RP | LAA
Angels' Ben Joyce: Reinstated from 60-day injured list
The Angels activated Joyce (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.
Joyce is finally ready to make his season debut for the Angels following a long road back from right shoulder surgery. The reliever had to be pulled off an initial rehab assignment back in May because he wasn't recovering well in between outings, but it went smoother after he restarted things in July. Joyce's numbers on his rehab assignment -- 5.06 ERA, 12:8 K:BB in 10.2 innings -- were underwhelming, and he did not appear in back-to-back games. So, while there's a clear opening at closer for the Angels, it's unlikely Joyce will be thrown back into the role right away.

Codi Heuer RP | BAL
Orioles' Codi Heuer: Dealt to O's, sent to Triple-A
The Orioles acquired Heuer from the Brewers for cash considerations Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.
Heuer has been traded twice since Saturday, after the Brewers initially acquired him from the Guardians over the weekend. He'll report to Norfolk but could eventually get a chance in Baltimore. The righty reliever has allowed five runs with a 6:5 K:BB over 9.2 frames in the majors this season.

Tyler Gilbert RP | CHW
White Sox's Tyler Gilbert: Reinstated, optioned to Triple-A
The White Six activated Gilbert (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
The left-hander has been on the shelf since June 10 due to a shoulder impingement but has gained full clearance after a three-appearance rehab assignment. Gilbert surrendered seven runs across those three rehab outings with Charlotte and will remain with the affiliate now that he's healthy.
