Garcia was pulled in favor of Shawn Armstrong in the ninth inning of Saturday's 7-4 win over San Diego with two outs and the bases loaded.

Garcia began the ninth inning with the most favorable save situation of a three-run lead and empty bases, but the Padres chipped away and had the winning run at the plate with two outs. Manager Bruce Bochy had seen enough and chose to go with a righty-righty matchup for what turned out to be the final batter when Armstrong got Xander Bogaerts to ground out to end the game. Garcia does have six saves this season and is still the team's top option at closer, but he doesn't have much of a previous pedigree as a closer and is more prone to decisions like this when he can't take care of things cleanly.

Snider (forearm) began a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, giving up two hits and no walks in one scoreless inning. He struck out one.

Snider threw 12 pitches in his return to game action, entering the final stages of his recovery from a right forearm flexor strain. It's unclear if the Mariners have an eye toward having him rejoin the major-league roster before the All-Star break, but the right-hander will figure to need a handful of rehab outings before being activated from the injured list. Before going down on June 4, Snider held a 5.47 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB with four holds across 26.1 innings.

Kahnle walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Saturday in Cleveland.

The right-hander issued a two-out walk but otherwise had no issues finishing off Detroit's 1-0 victory. It's the first save since June 4 for Kahnle, which is especially encouraging after a five-run blowup earlier this week in Washington. Will Vest leads the Tigers with 14 saves and was unavailable after pitching the prior two days, but Kahnle is the team's top understudy with nine saves and a 2.89 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 32:12 K:BB over 37.1 innings this year.

Cleavinger (0-4) allowed one earned run on two hits and a walk without recording an out in the ninth inning to take the loss Saturday against the Twins.

Cleavinger posted a 2.70 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 10 innings in June and began July with two scoreless outings. He didn't have his best stuff Saturday, however, as he allowed a walk and two singles -- the latter of which was a bunt -- to allow a walk-off win for the Twins.

Poteet (shoulder) recently received an injection and is likely to start throwing in the next several days, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Poteet was placed on the injured list way back on April 22 due to right shoulder inflammation and was later shifted to the 60-day IL on May 30, and it sounds as though his recovery has progressed slowly. Given that he's just getting ready to resume throwing, the right-hander could require a lengthy throwing progression and minor-league rehab assignment before becoming an option to rejoin Baltimore's roster. Poteet is likely looking at a return sometime in August, if he can avoid any setbacks.

Kittredge threw a spotless seventh inning with no strikeouts in Saturday's 9-6 extra-inning win over Atlanta.

Saturday marked a fourth consecutive perfect outing by the 35-year-old right-hander, who has posted a clean appearance in six of his last eight outings. Kittredge has turned in a scoreless outing in 15 of his 20 appearances this season, and he should continue serving as one of Baltimore's setup men for closer Felix Bautista. Through his first 20.2 innings, Kittredge owns a solid 3.92 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 20:6 K:BB with five holds.

De Los Santos (elbow) threw 20 pitches in the Citi Field bullpen Saturday, per MLB.com.

De Los Santos landed on the IL on June 19 due to right elbow discomfort, but subsequent testing didn't reveal any structural issues. The righty reliever is now ramping back up and could be closing in on a return. De Los Santos recorded a 1.80 ERA despite a poor 1.70 WHIP and 13:12 K:BB over 20 big-league innings this season prior to getting hurt.

The Guardians reinstated Sewald (shoulder) from the injured list Saturday.

A strained right shoulder has kept Sewald on the shelf since late April. He began a rehab assignment in the minors June 25, during which he gave up two earned runs on four hits and no walks while striking out five batters across four innings. Now fully recovered, the 35-year-old will likely claim a middle-relief role in Cleveland's bullpen, pushing out Doug Nikhazy.

The Blue Jays recalled Pina from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.

Since being traded to Toronto in late June, Pina has given up one run over two innings at Buffalo. He'll now return to the big leagues as the roster replacement for the injured Yimi Garcia (ankle), though Pina doesn't project to pitch outside of low-leverage situations with the Jays.

The Blue Jays placed Garcia on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a left ankle sprain.

Garcia gave up two runs in one inning during his return from a shoulder injury Wednesday, taking a blown save but tallying a win in the process. He'll now end up back on the IL due to an ankle injury and will remain on the shelf through the All-Star break. Robinson Pina was recalled from Triple-A to fill the vacancy in Toronto's bullpen.
