  • Taylor Rogers RP | MIN

Twins' Taylor Rogers: Recalled by Twins on Tuesday

Rogers was recalled by the Twins on Tuesday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

The Twins optioned top prospect Jose Berrios on Tuesday and will replace his spot on the roster with the left-handed Rogers. He has made a pair of starts at Triple-A Rochester this season, but Rogers' likely role will be out of the bullpen as a left-handed specialist while with the Twins. In his lone appearance with the Twins early in the season, Rogers allowed one hit over 0.2 innings of work.

  • Chad Green RP | TOR

Yankees' Chad Green: Loses in spot start against Diamondbacks

Green (0-1) allowed six runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts over four innings in a loss Monday to Arizona.

Green was able to draw eight swinging strikes in 79 pitches in his major league debut, but he got touched up for a pair of home runs and three doubles as the Diamondbacks were able to capitalize when Green missed in the zone. Green has shown more than enough promise to earn a spot in the Yankees rotation at some point in the near future, as he owns a brilliant 1.22 ERA in seven starts for Triple-A Scranton, but he will likely be ousted from the rotation when CC Sabathia returns from the disabled list, expected this Friday.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Earns first major league win

Manaea (1-1) allowed just one run on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts over 6.2 innings in a win Monday against Texas.

In his fourth major league start, Manaea managed the first quality start of his career as he bounced back well from a disastrous outing last time out in Boston (2.2 IP, 10 H, 8 R). Manaea managed to keep the ball in the park despite serving up 10 fly balls. He had allowed four home runs in his first three starts, and he'll have to continue to show he can avoid the long ball if he's going to recover from his tough start to post a solid rookie season.

  • Joe Kelly RP | LAD

Red Sox's Joe Kelly: An option to start Saturday for Boston

Kelly (shoulder) is an option to start for Boston on Saturday, Mass Live reports.

Kelly tossed his third rehabilitation start Monday, getting his pitch count up to 92 and pitching 6.1 scoreless innings for Triple-A Pawtucket. He allowed five hits and a walk while striking out 10. The Red Sox were rained out Monday, forcing them to use two pitchers in a doubleheader Wednesday. This means they'll need a fifth starter Saturday, and Kelly would be pitching on normal rest.

  • Luke Jackson RP | SEA

Rangers' Luke Jackson: Recalled from Triple-A Round Rock

Jackson was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Jeff Wilson of Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Jackson has struck out 19 batters and has a 3.68 ERA in 14.2 innings for Triple-A Round Rock, but has also issued 10 walks. He'll need to show better control than that to work his way into a high-leverage bullpen role with the Rangers.

  • Jake Diekman RP | ATL

Rangers' Jake Diekman: Retires both batters faced

Diekman retired the only two batters he faced to close out the eighth inning in a 7-6 victory over Toronto on Sunday.

Diekman has only given up one run in his last seven outings and has racked up five holds and 10 strikeouts during that time. Along with posting career bests in ERA (2.51) and WHIP (1.05), the lefty is showing great command this year with an impressive 2.51 BB/9. The 29-year-old has a firm grasp on late-inning relief work for the Rangers; he could very well lead the team in holds this season.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Struggles in no-decision Sunday

Fulmer (2-1) lasted just 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Sunday, coughing up five runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out six.

He continues to rack up strikeouts, and Fulmer's 22:9 K:BB through his first 19.1 major league innings is pretty good, but his inability to last deep into games could make it difficult for the Tigers to keep him in the rotation going forward even if you look past his 6.52 ERA. He'll next take the mound Saturday at home against the Rays.

  • Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Picks up 10th save Sunday

Kimbrel struck out two while pitching a perfect ninth inning to notch his 10th save of the season in Sunday's 10-9 win over the Astros.

He just keeps rolling along, and Kimbrel now sports a 2.65 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 28:8 K:BB in 17 innings while converting 10 of 11 save chances. With Boston looking like a playoff contender once again, Kimbrel should get plenty of leads to protect going forward.

  • Chris Devenski RP | NYM

Astros' Chris Devenski: Chased early in Sunday's loss

Devenski (0-2) lasted just two innings Sunday, allowing six runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one, but was able to escape with a no-decision in a 10-9 loss to the Red Sox.

His ERA nearly doubled as a result of his first poor outing of the season, soaring from 1.72 to a still-respectable 3.24. Since joining the rotation, Devenski has a 5.03 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB in 19.2 innings, and with Lance McCullers now healthy, the 25-year-old rookie is probably on a very short leash. On the bright side, Mike Fiers wasn't much better in relief Sunday, so the fifth starter spot might still be up for grabs.

  • Matt Moore RP | BOS

Rays' Matt Moore: Another short outing Sunday

Moore (1-3) lasted five innings Sunday, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three, but came away with a no-decision in a 7-6 loss to the A's.

He was actually in line for the win thanks to Sonny Gray being even more generous than he was, but Danny Valencia crushed his third home run of the day in the top of the ninth inning to send Moore home empty-handed. Moore has now failed to pitch more than five innings in any of his last three starts, managing just an 11:8 K:BB in 14 innings over that stretch, and the efficiency issues that plagued Moore before his Tommy John surgery have predictably returned in 2016. He'll look for a better result in his next trip to the hill Saturday in Detroit.
