Alex Colome RP | CHW
Rays' Alex Colome: Collects fourth save
Colome allowed one hit during a scoreless ninth inning to collect his fourth save of the season Saturday against Houston.
The Tampa Bay closer hasn't allowed a run through seven innings, and after recording 37 saves with a 1.91 ERA last year, he should have a long leash in the ninth inning. It's also likely that Colome begins to show an uptick in the strikeout column -- just four punchouts this year -- after posting an 11.28 K/9 in 2015.

Zach Putnam RP | BOS
White Sox's Zach Putnam: Tender elbow forces early exit Saturday
Putnam left Saturday's game with a sore elbow, Scot Gregor of the Daily Herald reports.
Putnam's elbow was feeling tender, so the White Sox decided to err on the side of caution and pull him after just nine pitches. He's being considered day-to-day at this point in time. Headed into Saturday's game, Putnam had thrown eight scoreless innings over six games.

Danny Barnes RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Danny Barnes: Heads back to Triple-A
Barnes was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet reports.
Although he didn't pitch much, Barnes was solid during his limited time with the big club. He pitched 3.2 scoreless innings over three games and allowed just one hit and one walk. In a corresponding move, Leonel Campos was recalled from Buffalo.

Joe Palumbo RP | TEX
Rangers' Joe Palumbo: Will undergo Tommy John surgery
Palumbo (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery in the coming days, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Palumbo was off to a tremendous start at High-A Down East this season. Over three games (13.2 innings) he'd allowed just one earned run and had fanned 22 batters. He'll aim to continue his development at some point in the 2018 season as long as his recovery goes smoothly.

Kirby Yates RP | PIT
Angels' Kirby Yates: Called up to big club
Yates was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
With Garrett Richards moving to the 60-day DL, the Angels opted to bring Yates up to the big club. In 41 games (41.1 innings) with the Yankees in 2016, Yates posted a 5.23 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 10-percent walk rate.

Jesse Chavez RP | ATL
Angels' Jesse Chavez: Availability for Sunday in question
Chavez entered Friday's 13-inning contest with the Blue Jays, putting his status for Sunday's scheduled start in question, J.P. Hoornstra of the Orange County Register reports.
The Angels emptied their entire bullpen in a marathon affair with the Blue Jays, so Chavez -- who has experience as a reliever -- was called upon to eat some innings. He only pitched one inning, so there is a chance he could still make his scheduled start Sunday, but it wouldn't be surprising to see his next outing pushed back. Daniel Wright would be the favorite to be called up for a spot start should Chavez get rescheduled.

Mike Hauschild RP | HOU
Astros' Mike Hauschild: Returns to Astros
Hauschild cleared waivers and was returned to the Astros organization Saturday.
The Rule 5 selection made the Opening Day roster and made four outings for the Rangers. As a Rule 5 pick, Hauschild was ineligible to be optioned by the Rangers this season and still remain in the organization without first being subjected to waivers. Hauschild struggled mightily through his first three outings and things came to a head when he was touched up for five earned runs -- including three home runs -- over 3.1 innings Wednesday. He's been returned to the Astros' organization and assigned to Triple-A Fresno.

Joe Jimenez RP | ATL
Tigers' Joe Jimenez: Tagged with blown save Friday
Jimenez was tagged with a blown save in Friday's loss to the Twins, allowing two hits and two earned runs in two-thirds on an inning.
Jimenez, who was called up earlier Friday, entered the game in the sixth inning with a runner on third and promptly gave up an RBI single. He then allowed a three-run home run to Eddie Rosario before retiring the final two batters of the inning. Jimenez will probably be used in low-leverage situations for the time being, but he could also be sent back down to Triple-A to get more work in.

Sean Manaea SP | NYM
Athletics' Sean Manaea: Strikes out six in Friday win
Manaea (1-1) notched six strikeouts and gave up an earned run on five hits and three walks over six innings of Friday's 3-1 win over the Mariners.
The young lefty notched 11 swinging strikes and kept the ball down when contact was made, recording eight groundouts. Control remains an issue even in victory, however, as Manaea issued multiple free passes for the fourth time in as many starts. He did remain stingy with the long ball, and has now surrendered just one home run over his first 22.1 innings this season. He's settled down overall after some rough stretches in his first pair of starts, giving up just three runs (two earned) over his last 11 innings while lowering his ERA from 7.15 to 4.43 over that span. He'll look to keep it going in a road start next Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Hector Santiago RP | SEA
Twins' Hector Santiago: Picks up win Friday
Santiago (2-1) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over 6.1 innings in Friday's 6-3 win over the Tigers.
It's his third straight quality start, and much as he did in 2016, Santiago is putting together a strong beginning to the season, sporting a 2.19 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB through 24.2 innings. Things fell apart quickly for the lefty once the calendar flipped to May last year, but his 2017 run of excellence may not be done quite yet -- his next trip to the mound comes Wednesday on the road against a Rangers team with a paltry .240 wOBA against left-handers so far this season.
