Ryan Garton RP | SEA
Rays' Ryan Garton: Touched up for homer Tuesday
Garton gave up an earned run on two hits over an inning in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox. He struck out two.
Garton was touched up by Todd Frazier for a 425-foot solo home run in the ninth that served as an insurance run for the White Sox. The 27-year-old righty has now given up four earned runs on three hits -- including a pair of round trippers -- in two of his last three appearances, sandwiching those outings around an impressive 3.2 scoreless innings against the Mariners on June 2.

Scott Alexander RP | SF
Royals' Scott Alexander: Reinstated from disabled list Wednesday
Alexander (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list Wednesday.
Alexander had been out for almost a full month since being placed on the disabled list in early May with a right hamstring strain. He will return to the Royals bullpen, where the left-hander has tossed 14.1 innings this season, to a tune of a 1.26 ERA.

Carson Smith RP | BOS
Red Sox's Carson Smith: Completes simulated game
Smith (elbow) threw a 20-pitch simulated game Wednesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Smith was initially scheduled to throw Tuesday, but was pushed back a day due to inclement weather. Abraham reported that Smith looked good during the session, but since he's more than a year removed from his last appearance in a game following May 2016 Tommy John surgery, the right-hander shouldn't be considered especially close to a return. He may need to pitch in another simulated game or two before the Red Sox clear him to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment, perhaps as soon as next week.

Kendall Graveman RP | ARI
Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Could start playing catch soon
Graveman (shoulder) could be cleared to resume playing catch in the next few days, Joe Stiglich of NBC Sports California reports.
Graveman seems to have steered clear of a long-term absence after a recent MRI conducted on his right shoulder revealed no structural damage, but he's still likely at least a couple weeks away from returning from the disabled list. Once he's cleared to play catch, Graveman would still have to throw off a mound and face hitters before the Athletics would clear him to begin a rehab assignment in the minors.

Bryan Shaw RP | CIN
Indians' Bryan Shaw: Has eventful outing Tuesday
Shaw threw a wild pitch, allowed a single and struck out the only hitter he retired Tuesday in Colorado.
It was quite an eventful outing for Shaw in a meaningless 11-3 ballgame. His wild pitch allowed Charlie Blackmon to take third base before DJ LeMahieu recorded an RBI single that was charged to Boone Logan. Shaw hasn't been quite right lately, as the right-hander has yielded four runs on seven hits over his last 5.2 innings. Regardless, the 29-year-old's ERA still sits at a career-best 2.42 through 26 contests in 2017.

Zach Putnam RP | BOS
White Sox's Zach Putnam: Not ready for rehab assignment
Putnam (elbow) will continue to rehab in Chicago during the White Sox's current road trip, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The White Sox won't be back in Chicago until Monday, so expect the team to provide an update on Putnam's condition shortly thereafter. If Putnam responds well to treatment over the next few days, the White Sox could clear him to head to the minors to begin a rehab assignment.

Matt Strahm RP | KC
Royals' Matt Strahm: Settling into big-league role
After allowing seven runs over his first three games, Strahm has surrendered just three scores while picking up five holds over his last 16 appearances.
The southpaw's ERA sits at an unfriendly 4.50, but it's been deflating since late April when he was recalled from Triple-A. Strahm's 23:15 K:BB leaves much to be desired, yet seven of those free passes were issued during the sophomore's brutal start. It's safe to say the 25-year-old has settled into a secure relief role moving forward.

Kyle Crockett RP | CIN
Indians' Kyle Crockett: Recalled from Triple-A
Crockett was recalled by the Indians on Wednesday.
Crockett will come to the aid of a beleaguered Indians bullpen, which has used four or more relievers for each of the past three games. The 25-year-old lefty has performed well with Triple-A Columbus this season, posting a 1.85 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP over 24.1 innings in relief. Mike Clevinger, who was sent down in a corresponding move, will likely be recalled when Cleveland needs a fifth starter on June 17, so Crockett will have to truly impress if he wants to earn a long-term promotion.

Scott Alexander RP | SF
Royals' Scott Alexander: Inching closer to activation
Alexander (hamstring) in nearing a return to the Royals' bullpen, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
The left-hander logged a scoreless appearance for Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday, and he's slated to pitch again Wednesday. Manager Ned Yost was pleased with the 27-year-old's progress, and Alexander should be ready for activation once he passes the back-to-back challenge.

Josh Staumont RP | CIN
Royals' Josh Staumont: Struggling at Triple-A
Staumont was lit up over five innings for Triple-A Omaha, allowing seven runs on a season-high eight hits while walking three and striking out seven Tuesday.
According to Tony Boone of the Omaha World-Herald, Storm Chasers manager Brian Polberg has some concerns regarding Staumont. "To me, after all the walks he had in the previous ones, he's not (got) the same quality stuff," Polberg said. "He's been very tentative for me the last three outings." The Royals' top prospect has been disappointing in his first run at Triple-A, owning a 4.63 ERA with a career-high 1.4 HR/9 through 11 starts.
