Cesar Valdez RP | LAA
Blue Jays' Cesar Valdez: Back down to minors
Valdez will head back to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet reports.
Valdez only earned one appearance during his brief stay with the Jays, allowing two earned runs off four hits and two walks during 3.1 innings of work Thursday. The right-hander will likely be back with the team in the near future, especially if the injury bug continues to hit the Blue Jays.

Hector Santiago RP | SEA
Twins' Hector Santiago: Will start Tuesday
Santiago (shoulder) will start against the Red Sox on Tuesday, LaVelle E. Neal of the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Santiago has been out since June 6 with a muscle strain in his left shoulder but looked like his normal self during his rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Rochester. The Twins will give the southpaw roughly 75 pitches in Tuesday's game and then extend his pitch count over the next couple starts.

Brad Boxberger RP | CHC
Rays' Brad Boxberger: Will be activated this weekend
Boxberger (back) will be activated by the Rays sometime this weekend, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Boxberger was expected to be back with the club Friday, but will likely come back from the 60-day disabled list Saturday instead. He has made six relief appearances in the minors over the course of this month, and seems to be at or near 100 percent physically after dealing with a strained lat muscle since the beginning of this season.

Dillon Tate RP | TOR
Yankees' Dillon Tate: Tosses 5.2 shutout innings in season debut at High-A
Tate, 23, spun 5.2 scoreless innings Tuesday in his season debut for High-A Tampa. The 6-foot-2 righty scattered three hits and fanned five batters while walking just one.
The Yanks took a flier on Tate in acquiring him from Texas last season, as the 2015 first-round pick struggled with injury and inconsistency while with the Rangers organization. It remains to be seen if Tate can stay on the field and deliver, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.

Eduardo Paredes RP | DET
Angels' Eduardo Paredes: Called up by Angels on Friday
Paredes will make his first trip to the big leagues Friday, after the Angels recalled him from Triple-A Salt Lake.
In a corresponding move, the team sent C.J. Cron down to Salt Lake, giving Paredes a chance to show off his stuff at the major-league level. The 22-year-old has posted a 2.00 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP in the minors this season, to go along with a 43:15 K:BB in 36 innings of relief. He will serve as depth in the bullpen for the Halos moving forward.

Max Povse RP | SEA
Mariners' Max Povse: Rocked in big-league debut
Povse gave up three earned runs on four hits over two-thirds of an inning in Thursday's 9-6 win over the Tigers. He also recorded a strikeout.
After making the leap up from Double-A Arkansas on June 18, Povse received a rather rude welcome to the majors. The towering right-hander was touched up for a 394-foot two-run shot by Miguel Cabrera and a run-scoring single by Justin Upton while firing 31 pitches overall after coming on for fellow rookie Andrew Moore in the eighth. Despite the rough debut, the Mariners have hopes for Povse as a potential multi-inning reliever, considering he's logged 62 starts at the minor-league level.

John Curtiss RP | ARI
Twins' John Curtiss: Transferred to Triple-A
Curtiss was promoted to Triple-A Rochester on Friday.
The 24-year-old has quickly risen through the minor-league ranks over the past couple seasons, but has really been turning heads this season at Double-A Chattanooga. Through 21 games, Curtiss has a 0.72 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 35:12 K:BB, earning him a well-deserved shot at the next tier. The Twins have the worst bullpen in the majors in terms of reliever ERA this season (5.20), so the young right-hander may get a look this season if his success continues.
-
Trevor Hildenberger RP | SF
Twins' Trevor Hildenberger: Joining big-league club
The Twins selected Hildenberger's contract from Triple-A Rochester on Friday.
The right-hander has mowed down opponents for Triple-A Rochester to the tune of a 2.05 ERA, 35 strikeouts, eight walks and six saves across 30.2 innings. Hildenberger, 26, brings intrigue to a Twins bullpen lacking excitement. It may not take him long to ascend the depth chart and lock down a high-leverage role, considering he recorded double-digit saves at three minors levels prior to this season.

Chris Devenski RP | NYM
Astros' Chris Devenski: Notches third save Thursday
Devenski threw a clean ninth inning with three strikeouts to earn his third save of the season Thursday against the A's.
It took just 15 pitches for Devenski to take care of Rajai Davis, Chad Pinder, and Jaycob Brugman to earn the save after the A's had put together a rally to make the game uncomfortably close for the Astros. Ken Giles still has a strong hold on the closer's role for the Astros, but Devenski has elite numbers across the board that make him a viable ninth-inning option on days where manager A.J. Hinch wants to give his regular closer a rest day. Devenski is sporting a 12.87 K/9 rate and also owns an impressive 0.82 WHIP over 42.2 innings.

David Hernandez RP | ARI
Angels' David Hernandez: Fires scoreless ninth in New York
Hernandez fired a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts in Thursday's win over the Yankees.
By the time Hernandez entered the game, the Angels had gotten out to a five-run lead to negate the possibility of a save situation. Still, Hernandez kept his foot on the gas and got through four batters on just 15 pitches. That said, had it been a save situation, Cam Bedrosian would have likely taken the hill for the Angels. Hernandez is enjoying a resurgent season in 2017 with a 2.28 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP, but several things would need to happen in order for him to start seeing save opportunities.
