  • Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Blows first save at Fenway

Kimbrel gave up a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth to blow his third save of the season during Saturday's 16-inning loss to the Yankees.

Kimbrel was called upon to earn a four-out save, and started off by winning a 10-pitch at-bat with Aaron Judge to get the Red Sox out of the eighth inning with a one-run lead, but on the third throw to leadoff batter Matt Holliday in the bottom of the ninth, Kimbrel allowed a monster shot over the Green Monster to blow his second save in the last three attempts. Besides the home run, Kimbrel struck out all three opposing batters in the ninth, bumping his K/9 to 16.2. Interestingly, all three of Kimbrel's blown saves this season have come on home runs to leadoff hitters at the onset of the ninth inning.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Racks up fourth straight victory

Fulmer (10-6) allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out three across eight innings to earn the victory Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Fulmer was in complete control in this contest while receiving 11 runs of support from the offense as he easily cruised to his 10th victory of the season. He's won four straight decisions, and with an ERA of 3.06 to go along with a 1.07 WHIP, he's provided fantasy managers with a legitimate ace to lead their pitching staffs. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Royals.

  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Will start rehab assignment next week

Graveman (shoulder) is expected to begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, Joe Stiglich of NBC Sports California reports.

Graveman recently threw live batting practice and appears ready to embark on his rehab assignment as he continues to progress from a shoulder injury that landed him on the DL in late May. It remains unlikely that Graveman will be able to return before the end of the month, but he should rejoin the team shortly after, barring any setbacks.

  • Dylan Covey RP | ATL

White Sox's Dylan Covey: Throws off mound Saturday

Covey (oblique) was able to throw off the mound Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of MLB.com reports.

Covey was initially placed on the 10-day disabled list on May 26 with a strained left oblique, but he hasn't been able to gain much ground over the past month and a half. Manager Rick Renteria said that the team will continue to take it easy with the 25-year-old, but they'll begin building his throwing program back up as he recovers. There has yet to be a definitive timetable set for Covey, but he will likely be reevaluated in the coming weeks once he starts advancing on his program.

  • Cody Sedlock RP | BAL

Orioles' Cody Sedlock: Throws bullpen Saturday

Sedlock (elbow) tossed a 30-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Sedlock landed on the disabled list with a right elbow flexor strain at the beginning of the month, and is slowly nearing his return to the mound. The 22-year-old said that his arm "felt good" following the session, and he should be able to ramp up his progression over the course of the next week before coming back to High-A Frederick.

  • Hunter Harvey RP | CHC

Orioles' Hunter Harvey: Starting rehab assignment Wednesday

Harvey (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment Wednesday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.

This is a significant step in Harvey's recovery from Tommy John surgery after undergoing the procedure last July. The expectation is that Harvey will begin his rehab in rookie-league games before the Orioles activate him at High-A Frederick. Harvey is considered one of the best pitching prospects in the Orioles' system, but injuries have slowed the 22-year-old's development.

  • Twins' Hector Santiago: Rehab assignment looming

Santiago (back) will ramp up his throwing program at the beginning of next week, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.

Santiago is set to begin with a few bullpen sessions, followed by throwing live batting practice and a trip to the minors on a rehab assignment over the course of the next couple weeks. The southpaw has been out since early July with upper-back pain, but should be able to return well before the end of the month, barring any setbacks.

  • Daniel Norris RP | CLE

Tigers' Daniel Norris: Throws side session Friday

Norris (groin) did not have as strong of a side session as he would've liked and will throw again Sunday, Evan Woodbery of the MLive Media Group reports.

According to manager Brad Ausmus, the session was "so-so" and the team will have Norris toss one more time before determining the next step for their left-hander. Norris has been out since July 5 with the groin strain, and could return to the rotation without having to participate in any rehab games depending on the results of Sunday's session.

  • Chad Green RP | TOR

Yankees' Chad Green: Will receive more opportunities

Green is set to earn some chances in the seventh inning moving forward, according to manager Joe Girardi, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.

Girardi removed Tyler Clippard from the seventh-inning role following his rough first half of the season. Although Adam Warren will likely earn most of the chances in the setup role, Green has been impressive during his action this season and should be able to garner a few opportunities of his own. Green has an ERA of 1.80, a phenomenal 0.69 WHIP, and a 47:8 K:BB over 35 innings this year. Since he pitched two scoreless innings (five strikeouts) during Friday night's loss to Boston, Green will be unavailable out of the bullpen for Saturday's contest.

  • Joe Kelly RP | LAD

Red Sox's Joe Kelly: Lands on DL

Kelly was placed on the disabled list Saturday due to a left hamstring strain, Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.

In a surprising move that seemingly came out of nowhere, the Red Sox put their eighth-inning man on the DL prior to Saturday's game against the Yankees. He hasn't pitched since prior to the All-Star break, so the team will backdate his placement retroactive to July 12, making him eligible to return next Sunday. In a corresponding move, the club recalled Brandon Workman from Triple-A Pawtucket.
