The Guardians recalled Herrin from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.

The addition of Herrin gives Cleveland a third left-handed option in the bullpen along with Erik Sabrowski and Kolby Allard. Over 39 appearances with the big club this season, Herrin owns a 4.06 ERA and 1.55 WHIP and has collected four wins and 11 holds in 31 innings.

The Rangers placed Gray on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right shoulder nerve irritation.

Gray will continue to occupy a spot on the Rangers' 40-man roster upon clearing outright waivers Saturday, after no other team was willing to take on the approximately $3.1 million remaining on his $13 million salary for 2025. The right-hander ended up making a 2.1-inning mop-up appearance in Saturday's 14-2 loss to the Blue Jays and may have been pitching through the shoulder issue during the outing. According to Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com, manager Bruce Bochy said that Gray is dealing with thoracic outlet syndrome, which often necessitates a multi-month absence and is likely to end his season. Texas recalled right-hander Caleb Boushley from Triple-A Round Rock to replace Gray in the bullpen.

Boushley will provide a multi-inning relief option in place of Jon Gray (shoulder), who landed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. During his previous big-league stints this season, Boushley made 19 appearances and turned in a 5.05 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over 35.2 innings.

The Twins selected Cabrera's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

Cabrera will be up in the majors with his fourth different team of the season following stints with the Mets, Cubs and Pirates. Over 24 appearances in the big leagues in 2025, Cabrera has posted a 5.79 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 28 innings. He'll likely have to settle for a low-leverage role in the Minnesota bullpen.

The Twins optioned Adams to Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

Adams has struggled since he was called up at the start of August, logging a 7.36 ERA and 12:9 K:BB over 11 innings. The right-hander has made two starts among his eight appearances in the majors this season and could join the rotation as he heads back to St. Paul.

Lynch (5-2) earned the win Saturday against the White Sox. He allowed a hit and no walks with no strikeouts over two scoreless innings.

The southpaw came on in relief after Michael Lorenzen worked four innings in his return from the IL. Since returning from the injured list himself with an elbow injury Aug. 3, Lynch has posted a 3.48 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across six appearances, picking up two wins over 10.1 innings.

Vest tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Twins. He allowed two hits and a walk while striking out two.

Vest recorded the last out of the seventh inning and then worked the eighth against the top of Minnesota's order to earn his second hold of the season, with Kyle Finnegan covering the ninth for the save. Before Saturday, Vest had rattled off two straight saves, but Finnegan had three consecutive saves prior to that. It appears that both relievers will see ninth-inning work with Vest as the higher-leverage option, giving them each fantasy value but capping their respective ceilings. Vest still leads the Tigers with 18 saves in 23 opportunities.

Bednar secured the save in Saturday's 12-8 win over the Cardinals, retiring the only batter he faced.

Bednar came on with two runners aboard and two outs in the bottom of the ninth and sat down Ivan Herrera to close out a high-scoring Yankees victory. The right-hander notched his 20th save of the year and third since joining New York, including saves on back-to-back nights this weekend.

Finnegan earned a save against the Twins on Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters over one scoreless inning.

Finnegan inherited a three-run lead when he entered in the ninth inning, and he worked around a two-out infield single to secure the save. The veteran right-hander has yet to be scored upon since joining Detroit at the trade deadline, racking up 7.2 shutout frames with a 10:1 K:BB over seven appearances. Finnegan notched a save in his first three appearances with the Tigers, then went three consecutive outings without one as Will Vest picked up a pair of saves during that latter span. Vest got the final out of the seventh inning and worked the eighth against the top of the Twins' order, and he seems to be viewed as the higher-leverage option for manager A.J. Hinch -- which should result in more ninth-inning chances for Finnegan when Vest is needed earlier in the game.

Newcomb allowed an unearned run on two hits and a hit batsman and struck out three without walking a batter over 1.2 innings to earn the save in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Angels.

Tyler Ferguson put two runners on in the eighth inning, but Newcomb was able to defuse the situation. Newcomb then allowed a run in the ninth, but the Athletics' lead was never in any real danger after the team padded its advantage in the eighth. This was Newcomb's first save since the 2021 campaign with Atlanta. He's allowed just the one unearned run over his last nine appearances, a stretch that covers 11.2 innings and includes a 16:3 K:BB. He's in a late-inning role for now, but Saturday's usage doesn't suggest he's a primary option for saves, and the Athletics' overall struggles make those opportunities hard to come by anyway. Newcomb has maintained a 2.97 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 82:28 K:BB over 78.2 innings across 38 appearances (five starts) between the Athletics and the Red Sox this year.
