Chavez allowed one hit and struck out two through a scoreless ninth inning to record his first save in a 9-7 win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Chavez allowed a single, but he otherwise made quick work of the Mariners to nail down his first save. The right-hander received the save opportunity after Jose Leclerc blew a save Sunday, but this appears to be a committee going forward. Chavez has a 4.42 ERA with a 8.5 K/9 and a 2.7 BB/9 through 43 appearances this season.

Junis (6-10) was dealt the loss Wednesday against the Blue Jays after allowing four runs on six hits across seven innings. He struck out six and walked two.

Junis gave up only two runs through seven innings but came back out for the eighth and allowed a home run and a double to end his afternoon. The 26-year-old has a 5.03 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 126:47 K:BB through 132.1 innings and lines up to start at Boston early next week.

Shafer had one strikeout and didn't allow a baserunner in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Wednesday versus the Royals.

Closer Ken Giles (elbow) is still recovering from a cortisone shot, providing Shafer the chance to earn his first career save. The 26-year-old has a 2.37 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 20:13 K:BB through 19 innings this season, and he should see a higher-leverage role for the remainder of the season following the trade departures of David Phelps, Daniel Hudson, Joe Biagini and Aaron Sanchez.

Chapman recorded the save in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks, giving up one run on one hit and two walks during the ninth inning. He had one strikeout.

Thankfully, Chapman entered with a comfortable three-run cushion as he once again struggled to find the zone while delivering only 16 of his 28 pitches for strikes. The veteran left-hander has now allowed nine runs (eight earned) with a 12:11 K:BB in his last nine appearances while going 4-for-7 in save opportunities.

De Leon was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

De Leon will provide an extra bullpen arm for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox after the Rays traded away a trio of relievers earlier in the day. He's spent most of the season with Durham, compiling a 3.43 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 58:23 K:BB in 39.1 innings.

Lange was traded along with Paul Richan from the Cubs to the Tigers on Wednesday in exchange for Nicholas Castellanos, Craig Mish of FNTSY Sports Radio reports.

Lange was taken with the 30th-overall pick by the Cubs back in 2017. He doesn't look like much more than a back-end starter or reliever as neither his repertoire nor command are particularly impressive. In 216.1 innings as a professional, he owns a 4.62 ERA, a 20.7 percent strikeout rate and a 9.2 percent walk rate.

Anderson was traded from Miami to Tampa Bay along with Trevor Richards in exchange for Jesus Sanchez and Ryne Stanek on Wednesday, Craig Mish of FNTSY Sports Radio reports.

Anderson was expected to be in the mix for saves in Miami but may find it tougher to get those opportunities in Tampa. He's a quality arm for the Rays, though, striking out 37.1 percent of opposing hitters on the way to a 3.92 ERA as a 29-year-old rookie. It remains to be seen what exactly his role will be for his new club.

Richards was traded along with Nick Anderson from Miami to Tampa Bay on Wednesday in exchange for Jesus Sanchez and Ryne Stanek, Craig Mish of FNTSY Sports Radio reports.

Richards has been decent but not particularly impressive for the Marlins this season, posting a 4.50 ERA, a number which falls right in line with his 4.42 ERA in his rookie campaign. His 21.3 percent strikeout rate is slightly below average, while his 10.6 percent walk rate and 35.6 percent groundball rate are both fairly poor. According to Juan Toribio of MLB.com, the plan is to stretch Richards back out as a starter, though it's unclear if he'll do that with the big club or with Triple-A Durham.

Stewart was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

It was only a couple years ago that Stewart was seen as an interesting spot starter candidate in a loaded Dodgers' rotation, so it's not surprising that he did not make it through waivers after being designated for assignment. The 27-year-old righty logged a 7.34 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 67 strikeouts in 76 innings pitching in the harsh conditions of the Pacific Coast League this year. Toronto will probably continue developing him as a starter at Triple-A.

Diplan was traded from the Brewers to the Twins on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.

Diplan will head to Minnesota after being designated for assignment by the Brewers earlier in the week. The 22-year-old righty is considered a fringe prospect, with a solid fastball and changeup but shaky command. He's struggled with Double-A Biloxi over the past two seasons, compiling a 4.79 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 120:73 K:BB in 114.2 innings.
