The Orioles optioned Tate to Triple-A Norfolk following Sunday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Tate made his third big-league appearance Sunday, giving up a run on two hits and a walk while striking out two over an inning of relief en route to earning his first hold. The right-hander surrendered runs in each of his three outings with the Orioles and will likely need to show improved command at Triple-A before getting a call back to the big club.

Barria (4-5) was hit with the loss after yielding three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six over 3.2 innings Sunday against the Indians.

Barria surrendered a solo home run in the first and third innings, and he was chased from the contest with two outs in the fourth after allowing another solo blast. The 23-year-old failed to work deep into the ballgame, firing a total of 89 pitches to the 19 batters he faced. He'll head into his next start with a 6.36 ERA and 48 strikeouts over 46.2 innings.

Loaisiga (shoulder) made his second rehab appearance Sunday at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, retiring two of the six batters he faced while surrendering three runs on three hits and a walk.

Loaisiga kicked off his rehab assignment with Double-A Trenton on Tuesday, tossing two scoreless innings in what was his first action at any level since May 8. He was expected to work deeper into Sunday's outing, but he was only able to build up to 32 pitches before being pulled from the contest while the opposition was hitting him hard. Expect the 24-year-old to make at least one or two more rehab appearances in the minors before the Yankees entertain activating him. Loaisiga is expected to serve as a multi-inning reliever once he's reinstated.

The Red Sox recalled Weber from Triple-A Pawtucket ahead of Sunday's game against the Yankees, Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.

He'll provide Boston with a fresh long-relief arm after the big club optioned bullpen members Josh A. Smith and Colten Brewer back to Triple-A Pawtucket following Saturday's doubleheader. Over eight appearances (three starts) with the Red Sox this season, Weber has posted a 5.25 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 24 innings.

Anderson (1-0) was credited with the win in a victory over the Marlins on Saturday, firing a perfect eighth inning in which he recorded two strikeouts.

The right-handed trade-deadline acquisition breezed through his one frame in just seven pitches, a testament to how locked in he was against his former teammates. Anderson was also impressive in his Rays debut on Thursday against the Red Sox, allowing a hit and ringing up another pair of whiffs over one inning as well. He's been utilized in an eighth-inning role on both occasions, which should be the norm for him for the time being.

Shafer (illness) worked around a hit and a walk to deliver a scoreless seventh inning in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Orioles.

Shafer was unavailable in Friday's series opener after falling ill shortly after the game began, but he apparently recovered from the ailment overnight and re-entered the Toronto bullpen. In his prior appearance before the illness, Shafer secured his first career save, but he's expected to work in a setup capacity moving forward with closer Ken Giles (elbow) likely to return to action Sunday.

Smeltzer was recalled from Triple-A Rochester and will start Sunday's game against the Royals, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Smeltzer was expected to get called up when the injured Michael Pineda's (triceps) next turn in the rotation came up Tuesday versus the Braves, but the Twins elected to expedite the rookie's promotion to provide Jake Odorizzi and Jose Berrios with an additional day of rest between starts. Over his prior four outings (two starts) with Minnesota this season, Smeltzer posted a 2.91 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB across 21.2 innings. He could be in store for multiple turns through the rotation with Pineda potentially on track to miss more than the minimum 10 days.

Pagan struck out one and allowed one hit in a scoreless ninth inning to record the save Saturday against the Marlins.

Pagan was staked a two-run lead and gave up a two-out triple to Jon Berti, but he was able to get the final out to strand him at third base. The 28-year-old has a 1.96 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 62:12 K:BB over 46 innings and is 9-for-15 in save opportunities.

Beeks surrendered four runs (three earned) on five hits and one walk over four innings in Saturday's win over the Marlins. He had two strikeouts and did not factor in the decision.

Beeks also hit three batters, including a bases-loaded HBP during the second inning to give Miami an early lead. The 26-year-old clearly struggled with his command Saturday, delivering only 35 of his 59 pitches for strikes. Beeks has a 3.77 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 61:28 K:BB over 76.1 innings and lines up to pitch at Seattle next weekend.

Yacabonis will serve as the opener Sunday against the Blue Jays, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Yacabonis last worked as an opener July 25 and allowed one run on one hit and two walks over two innings. Tom Eshelman will follow as the primary pitcher.
