Taylor (1-1) struck one in a scoreless 10th inning and picked up the win over Kansas City on Thursday.

This was the continuation of a game that was delayed for two hours before being suspended Aug. 7. It was suspended three pitches into the 10th inning on that day, and it took all of 12 minutes to finish when Brock Holt delivered a walkoff single. Taylor has made 10 consecutive scoreless appearances, giving up two hits and one walk while striking out 13 over 10.2 innings.

Romano was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

He comes up in a corresponding move to Ken Giles landing on the paternity list, so Romano's stay in the majors could be brief. He has given up three earned runs while striking out 11 in 5.1 innings (four appearances) in the majors this season.

Giles was placed on the paternity list prior to Thursday's game against the Dodgers, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

He must miss Thursday's game, but no more than three games, meaning he will be back by Sunday, at the latest. Derek Law should serve as the closer while Giles is away. Jordan Romano was recalled in a corresponding move.

Betances (lat) is expected to return by the middle of September according to manager Aaron Boone, Mike Mazzeo of Yahoo Sports reports.

Aaron Boone said on WFAN that he expects both Betances and Luis Severino to return by mid-September, with Betances trailing Severino by a few days in the rehab process thus far. The hefty right-handed reliever threw a long side session Wednesday and continues to ramp up his rehab ahead of game action. The duo of powerful righties will add tremendous depth to a Yankees bullpen that will be used frequently during the postseason.

Pressly was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday and will miss 4-to-6 weeks following arthroscopic right knee surgery, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

This puts his timetable at late September in a best-case scenario, so he can be cut loose in most redraft leagues. Pressly showed this season that he is one of the best relievers in baseball. He logged a 2.50 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 65 strikeouts, two wins and three saves in 50.1 innings (51 appearances). Joe Biagini was recalled in a corresponding move.

Manaea (shoulder) is slated for at least one more rehab start with Triple-A Las Vegas before activation is considered, the Associated Press reports.

Manaea made a successful return Sunday from a slight pause in his rehab assignment due to side soreness, recording six strikeouts over five solid innings. The Athletics likely want to ensure Manaea is completely free of any lingering issues before pulling the trigger on activation, hence the desire to give him one more turn with the Aviators. That start would be slated to occur in the earlier portion of the upcoming Friday-to-Monday series against Triple-A Tacoma, positioning Manaea for a potential addition to the big-league club just prior to the expansion of rosters Sept. 1.

Robles blew a save chance in Wednesday's loss to Texas, allowing one hit in two-thirds of an inning while striking out one.

Robles was called upon to protect a one-run lead with one out in the eighth inning, inheriting runners at first and second. He induced a fielder's choice groundball to Rougned Odor for the second out but then served up a game-tying single to Shin-Soo Choo before ending the inning with a strikeout. Despite the missed opportunity, Robles has a firm hold on the closer position for the Angels as he has posted a 2.78 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 57:15 K:BB in 58.1 innings this season while racking up 18 saves.

Puk retired one of the three hitters he faced and was credited with a hold in his MLB debut Wednesday in the Athletics' 6-4 triumph over the Yankees.

Manager Bob Melvin didn't hesitate to break Puk into the big leagues with a high-leverage appearance, summoning the hard-throwing lefty for the top of the eighth with the Athletics holding a two-run lead. The outing wasn't much to write home about, as Puk issued a walk and surrendered a base hit before departing with one out and runners on the corners. Fortunately for Puk, he was able to avoid any damage to his ERA after closer Liam Hendriks came on to finish off the frame with a pair of strikeouts before retiring the side in the ninth inning.

Hernandez (1-0) allowed one run and two walks while striking out one over 2.1 innings Wednesday to earn the win against the Angels.

While the Rangers plated four runs over the final three innings, including Hunter Pence's walkoff single, Hernandez shut down the Angels to record the first win of his MLB career. The right-hander had been a minor-league starter for most of his career until the organization turned him into a reliever a few weeks ago at Double-A Frisco, according to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com. Hernandez had trouble repeating his delivery and holding his arm slot over a starter's inning load, so the Rangers shifted him to the bullpen, hoping it would be easier to do in shorter outings.

Burke will make his next start Sunday on the road against the White Sox, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.

Texas manager Chris Woodward confirmed that Burke will stay in the rotation after the rookie left-hander fired six scoreless innings in his debut Tuesday. Burke managed just five swinging strikes among his 99 pitches (29 foul balls), but Woodward feels he'll get better as Burke learns to elevate the fastball, rather than keeping it down in the zone.
