Hendriks (4-3) was hit with the loss and blown save against the Royals on Monday, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits in one inning. He struck out one and walked none.

Tasked with protecting a 5-4 lead, Hendriks wound up getting tagged with the blown save after yielding two runs in the ninth inning, one of which was unearned due to an error by outfielder Ramon Laureano. The All-Star right-hander has now blown six saves on the season, but his overall numbers remain spectacular, as he has a 1.68 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 116:21 K:BB across 80.1 innings.

Lopez (9-14) allowed five runs on nine hits and two walks over 5.1 innings Monday, striking out two batters and taking the loss against Minnesota.

On the bright side, Lopez didn't allow a home run Monday after serving up four in his last start. He's given up 11 runs over his last two outings, though, inflating his ERA from 5.17 to 5.44. The 25-year-old will look to get back on track in Detroit on Sunday.

Rogers struck out one batter and did not allow a baserunner Monday, earning a two-out save over the White Sox.

Rogers was called on to protect a 5-3 lead after Sergio Romo allowed a solo homer and he needed just eight pitches to finish things off. The 28-year-old lefty is now a perfect 6-for-6 in save chances this month and 27-for-33 on the season.

Banda, who fired two perfect innings during which he recorded two strikeouts in a loss to the Angels on Sunday, was singled out postgame by manager Kevin Cash for his performance, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Cash emphasized he was "really, really encouraged" by the 26-year-old's impressive 27-pitch effort, which included strikeouts of Luis Rengifo and Kole Calhoun. The quality of the outing was particularly noteworthy due to a combination of Banda's potential and the long road he's taken to recover from May 2018 Tommy John surgery. That included a rocky and lengthy rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham where Banda produced an elevated 5.57 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 21 innings. The southpaw has only been utilized twice since being promoted Sept. 2, and Sunday's performance was an upgrade over a debut in which he'd allowed an earned run on three hits over an inning to the Blue Jays exactly one week prior.

Alexander (1-3) allowed one run on four hits over six innings Monday, striking out three batters and earning the win over Baltimore.

Alexander rolled through five scoreless frames before allowing a solo shot to Trey Mancini in the sixth. Still, he earned his first big-league win after starting 0-3. The rookie left-hander owns a terrific 39:5 K:BB despite his 4.87 ERA. Alexander should continue primarily working out of the bullpen or making spot starts down the stretch.

Jimenez allowed three hits in a scoreless inning Monday, striking out two batters and earning the save over Baltimore.

Jimenez gave up three straight singles after retiring the first two batters of the inning. Fortunately, he was able to strike out Trey Mancini to end the contest. The 24-year-old has thrown five scoreless innings this month, going 3-for-3 in save chances and lowering his ERA to 4.53 in the process.

Farmer left Monday's game against the Orioles due to an accelerated heartbeat and dizziness, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Farmer reportedly experienced these symptoms after drilling Renato Nunez with a pitch, though per Beck, initial tests have come back negative. The right-hander will be considered day-to-day until an official diagnosis is provided.

Blach was designated for assignment by Baltimore on Monday.

Blach recently lost his starting role and will now lose his roster spot as well. It's hard to argue with the Orioles' decision, as the lefty owns a 12.00 ERA and a 20:17 K:BB in 27 innings for San Francisco and Baltimore this season. Eric Hanhold was claimed off waivers in a corresponding move.

Adams (2-2) was credited with the victory in a win over the White Sox on Sunday, firing a perfect ninth inning during which he struck out the side.

The 28-year-old put a recent three-appearance rough patch behind him in impressive fashion with Sunday's showing. Adams had given up a total of four earned runs across the 3.2 frames that encompassed his three previous trips to the mound, resulting in both his second loss and blown save of the season. Adams now has a trio of multi-strikeout outings over his last six outings, pushing his K/9 on the season to an eye-popping 15.3 across 30.2 innings with the Nationals and Mariners.

The Tigers claimed Diplan off waivers from the Twins on Monday.

Diplan will move on to his third organization of the season after being traded from the Brewers to the Twins in July before Minnesota designated him for assignment earlier this month. The 22-year-old hasn't pitched above the Double-A level and turned in an underwhelming 4.85 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 68.2 innings in 2019, but the rebuilding Tigers don't have much to lose by taking a chance on a hard-throwing righty with some upside.
