The Rays announced that Poche (elbow) underwent successful Tommy John surgery in Texas on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Poche will remain in Texas for the initial phases of his rehab before returning to Florida once he advances further in the recovery process. The southpaw reliever has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2020 season, and he's unlikely to resurface in the Tampa Bay bullpen until late in the second half of the 2021 campaign at the earliest.

Taylor allowed one hit and struck out three over 2.1 scoreless innings in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-innings loss to the Dodgers.

Taylor, who had 11.1 innings worth of experience at Triple-A prior to 2020, stepped up at a time when the Astros are dealing with a few injuries in the bullpen. This was Taylor's third appearance of the season, all of them scoreless. He's allowed just one hit and struck out five over 4.2 innings.

Duffey threw a scoreless inning with three strikeouts in Wednesday's win over the Cardinals.

Duffey was used in the sixth inning as he'll be a valuable middle reliever and setup man in the Minnesota bullpen mix. Duffey had a delayed start to summer camp, but he's looked sharp once the regular season began with five strikeouts and no walks in two innings in his first two appearances.

Rogers earned the save in Wednesday's victory over St. Louis, pitching a perfect ninth inning and striking out two batters.

A day after being passed up for the team's first save opportunity of the season, Rogers was called upon to protect a three-run lead against the Cardinals on Wednesday. He succeeded in style, needing only 11 pitches -- nine of which were strikes -- to set St. Louis down in order. That should erase any doubt about Rogers' status as Minnesota's clear-cut closer after Sergio Romo sniped the save Tuesday.

Colome pitched a scoreless, final inning in Wednesday's 4-0 win over Cleveland. He allowed two hits and a walk.

It was a non-save situation for Colome, who needed 31 pitches to seal the win for Chicago. It was the second straight day he's pitched, but with an off day Thursday, the White Sox's closer should be ready for their next game Friday at Kansas City.

Bummer (1-0) struck out two over a scoreless eighth inning and was credited with the win in a 4-0 victory over Cleveland.

Bummer was the pitcher of record when the White Sox plated four runs in the top of the ninth inning. The left-hander was one-fourth of the White Sox's best-pitched game of the season. No. 1 starter Lucas Giolito gave them six strong innings followed by Evan Marshall, Bummer and Alex Colome. Bummer earned his role as a setup man in 2019 when he posted a 2.13 ERA over 67.2 innings.

Jimenez pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to record the save in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Royals.

The Tigers are off to a 4-2 start, and Jimenez has saves in all of the team's wins. The hard-throwing righty has been up and down since arriving in the majors in 2017, but he has the stuff to be a dominant closer, as evidenced by the 82 strikeouts he recorded in just 59.2 innings a season ago.

Pearson allowed two hits and two walks while striking out five across five scoreless innings Wednesday against the Nationals. He did not factor into the decision.

Pearson made his much anticipated major-league debut and did not disappoint, routinely hitting 98 mph with his fastball. He relied on his heater and slider almost exclusively, generating 13 called strikes and 14 swinging strikes across 75 total pitches. While his ability to generate whiffs came as advertised, Pearson also showed the ability to harness his pitches, beginning 13 of the 19 batters he faced with a strike. He'll be further tested in his next start, currently projected for Tuesday at Atlanta.

Leclerc missed out on Wednesday's save opportunity against the Diamondbacks after experiencing right shoulder tightness while warming up, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The 26-year-old was expected to have a chance to earn his second save of the season, but his shoulder tightened up and Nick Goody was called upon instead. Leclerc should be considered day-to-day until the team has more information on the injury. He'll be reevaluated on Thursday's scheduled off day.

Pearson's contract was selected by the Blue Jays on Wednesday ahead of his major-league debut against the Nationals.

Pearson failed to make Toronto's Opening Day roster but is evidently now considered big-league ready less than a week later, making his big-league debut on the first possible date in which he can be called up while being denied a well-deserved year of service time. Pearson pairs an electric fastball with a plus breaking ball and has a good chance to start strong despite making just three Triple-A starts last season, as his 2.30 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 30.7 percent strikeout rate across the three highest levels of the minors last season bode quite well for his ability to get major-league hitters out.
