Jorge Alcala RP | TOR
Twins' Jorge Alcala: Suffers leg bruise
Alcala was diagnosed with a bruised right leg after being struck by a batted ball during Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Alcala recorded two outs and allowed one run on one hit and one walk before leaving the game. The 25-year-old should be considered day-to-day until the team updates his status.

Hoby Milner RP | SEA
Angels' Hoby Milner: Reinstated from injured list
Milner (back) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Milner has been sidelined with right back spasms since Aug. 26, but he'll return to action after spending just over the minimum of 10 days on the injured list. The southpaw has been effective as a low-leverage reliever this season as he carries a 3.86 ERA and 0.71 WHIP over seven innings.

Ken Giles RP | ATL
Blue Jays' Ken Giles: Another successful session
Giles (forearm) threw a live batting practice session that went well Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Giles' throwing session marked the third time that he threw a live batting practice session over the past week, and he appeared to feel good after each one. The right-hander is eligible to return from the 45-day injured list as soon as Thursday and could do so if he continues to feel good in the coming days.

Lou Trivino RP | PHI
Athletics' Lou Trivino: Scoreless streak persists
Trivino fired a clean ninth inning to close out a 6-0 win over the Astros on Monday.
The right-hander isn't really being utilized in too many high-leverage scenarios, but manager Bob Melvin has seemingly gotten the previously struggling right-hander back on track with the way he's deployed him. Factoring in Monday's outing, the 28-year-old now has eight straight scoreless appearances; he increasingly looks like a markedly different pitcher than the one who posted a 5.25 ERA and 1.53 WHIP last season, and that started the 2020 campaign with a 9.00 ERA across his first four appearances.

Zack Burdi RP | LAD
White Sox's Zack Burdi: Optioned to alternate site
Burdi was optioned to the White Sox's alternate training site Tuesday.
Burdi made his big-league debut in early August but did not find much success in his first 7.1 career innings, allowing nine earned runs while struggling to a 1.91 WHIP. He'll make way for Gio Gonzalez (groin), who returned from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY
Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Activated for Tuesday's start
The Rays activated Yarbrough from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday against the Nationals.
Tampa Bay optioned Trevor Richards to its alternate training site to create room on the 28-man active roster and in the rotation for Yarbrough, who was sidelined for the minimum amount of time with the sore left groin. Rays manager Kevin Cash hasn't specified that Yarbrough will face any restrictions in his return to the mound, so the lefty should make for a decent fantasy option Tuesday while facing off against a 15-25 Washington squad that could be without star outfielder Juan Soto (elbow).

Adam Ottavino RP | NYY
Yankees' Adam Ottavino: Implodes against Blue Jays
Ottavino (2-3) took the loss and was tagged with a blown save against Toronto on Monday, allowing six runs on four hits and two walks without retiring a batter.
Ottavino was the the hardest-hit victim of a 10-run Toronto sixth inning, getting lit up for a season-high six runs without registering an out. The biggest blow came off the bat of Danny Jansen, who smoked a grand slam to end Ottavino's outing. The veteran reliever's ERA jumped by over four runs to 7.55 due to the disastrous appearance, and he entered the record books as just the fifth Yankees pitcher since 1913 to allow six or more earned runs without recording an out.

Brad Hand RP | ATL
Indians' Brad Hand: Nails down 12th save
Hand struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning Monday to record his 12th save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Royals.
The southpaw fired 13 of his 15 pitches for strikes in the impressive performance, although his fastball topped out at 92.2 mph. Hand has found a way to be effective despite his reduced velocity -- he has yet to blow a save this season, and he hasn't allowed an earned run since the end of July, giving him a 2.45 ERA and 19:4 K:BB through 14.2 innings.
-
Yohan Ramirez RP | PIT
Mariners' Yohan Ramirez: Picks up third save
Ramirez walked one in two-thirds of an inning to record his third save of the season in Monday's 8-4 win over the Rangers.
After Aaron Fletcher gave up a run and left the bases loaded with one out in the top of the ninth, Ramirez was called in to protect an 8-3 lead with the potential tying run on deck and allowed an inherited run to score on a sac fly before getting Elvis Andrus to pop out to end the Texas rally. Ramirez has now gotten the save in his last three appearances, and he seems to be manager Scott Servais' top choice as closer at the moment.

Carson Fulmer RP | PIT
Orioles' Carson Fulmer: Gets activated
Fulmer was activated by the Orioles on Tuesday.
Fulmer was claimed by the team on Sept. 5 and is now officially active on the roster. The Orioles are his fourth team this season, as he's also appeared on the roster of the Tigers, White Sox and Pirates. He's likely to serve as bullpen depth in Baltimore.
