Garcia has been confirmed as the Yankees' starting pitcher for Monday's game against the Orioles, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

New York will officially recall Garcia from its taxi squad prior to Monday's series opener. Though he lost out to Domingo German for the fifth starter's gig in spring training, there should be room for both pitchers to fill starting roles with the Yankees transitioning to a six-man rotation in the short term. After Monday's outing, Garcia will line up for his second start of the week next Sunday in Detroit.

Kolarek, who allowed six runs over his first three appearances, has now generated four consecutive scoreless outings after firing 1.1 perfect innings in a win over the Orioles on Saturday.

The veteran left-hander's Athletics tenure got off to a nightmarish start, but Kolarek's three scoreless frames over his subsequent four trips to the mound have lowered his ERA from 22.50 to 9.00. Kolarek's current form much more closely resembles his impressive career body of work, which consisted of an 11-3 mark, 3.32 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, four saves and 32 holds over 143 appearances coming into 2021.

The White Sox recalled Stiever from their alternate training site ahead of Sunday's game against the Rangers, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

With the start of the minor-league season just over a week away, Stiever should be in store for a brief stay with the White Sox, but he could fill an important role Sunday. Michael Kopech is scheduled to start the contest, but he likely won't be able to work much longer than the three innings he tossed in his last outing April 18 in Boston. According to Fegan, manager Tony La Russa noted that he doesn't expect Liam Hendriks, Aaron Bummer or Codi Heuer to be available out of the bullpen due to workload concerns, so Stiever -- who is stretched out to 100 pitches -- could be called upon to piggyback Kopech on Sunday.

The Rangers recalled Sborz from their taxi squad ahead of Sunday's game against the White Sox.

He'll join the bullpen as a replacement for Kyle Cody (shoulder), who was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Before being optioned off the 26-man active roster April 16, Sborz appeared in six games for Texas and gave up four earned runs over five innings.

The Rays recalled Patino from their taxi squad Sunday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Patino will be serving as an opener ahead of primary pitcher Josh Fleming in the Rays' series finale Sunday versus the Blue Jays. As a 20-year-old with the Padres last season, Patino started in one of his 11 appearances and posted a 5.19 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and a 21:14 K:BB in 17.1 innings.

Manager A.J. Hinch said Fulmer would be making a shortened start Sunday against the Royals, though he didn't specify how long the right-hander might work, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Considering that Fulmer is pitching on three days' rest after covering four frames (60 pitches) in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Pirates, the fact that his workload is being restricted for a second straight outing doesn't come as a major surprise. Hinch noted that Tarik Skubal is scheduled to pitch Sunday, but it's unclear if he'll act as a true bulk reliever behind Fulmer or merely cover an inning or two.

Loaisiga recorded his first career save in Saturday's 2-1 win over Cleveland, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings.

Aroldis Chapman had pitched on two straight days and three of the last four, as had Chad Green, creating a save opportunity for someone else in the Yankees' bullpen. Loaisiga has had a great beginning to the season with a 1.35 ERA and 13:1 K:BB through 13.1 innings over nine appearances, but it might take some significant attrition ahead of him on the depth chart to make him a consistent source of saves.

Yarbrough served as a bulk-inning reliever, pitching 5.2 scoreless innings on three hits and one walk while striking out six in the win Saturday over the Blue Jays. He did not factor in the decision.

Yarbrough once again entered the game as a bulk-inning reliever after Brent Honeywell pitched the first inning. Yarbrough dealt 5.2 scoreless innings and six strikeouts for his best performance of the season. The 29-year-old didn't receive the win, but he kept the Rays in the game for what led to the win. He's pitched much better in 10.2 innings as a bulk-inning reliever with a 0.88 ERA compared to 16.2 innings as a traditional starter with a 6.48 ERA.

Tate pitched two perfect innings with no strikeouts in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Athletics.

After Wade LeBlanc and Tyler Wells combined to give up seven runs in the first four innings, the Orioles didn't have much of a chance at a win. Tate at least made sure it didn't get worse, as he pitched the seventh and eighth innings cleanly. He threw 12 of his 19 pitches for strikes. The 26-year-old right-hander has a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 3:2 K:BB across 7.1 innings this season. He's picked up a pair of holds and one loss in eight outings.

Barlow pitched a perfect eighth inning with one strikeout to earn a hold in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Tigers.

Barlow relieved starter Brady Singer at the start of the eighth inning. The 28-year-old Barlow needed just 10 pitches to earn his third hold of the season. He has a 2.70 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 15:4 K:BB across 13.1 innings this season. Josh Staumont worked the ninth inning for a save with Greg Holland and Wade Davis both in a rough patch early in the year. Barlow has picked up one save, one blown save and a win in 10 outings.
