Soto pitched a clean ninth inning to earn the save in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.

For the second straight appearance, Soto pitched a full inning without striking anyone out, but fantasy managers won't complain about his third save in as many opportunities. The lefty does have 11 strikeouts across 10.2 innings this season and he fanned 29 in 23 innings last year, so he'll likely start racking up the K's again in short order. Soto should also continue to see the bulk of the save opportunities in Detroit, though with the team sitting at 8-16, he might not get a ton of leads to protect.

Karinchak notched two strikeouts and didn't allow a baserunner over 1.1 innings to record the save during Tuesday's 7-4 win against Minnesota.

Emmanuel Clase pitched each of the past two days, so Karinchak was called upon for the four-out save Tuesday and delivered in short order against the Twins. Neither pitcher has surrendered an earned run through 21 combined innings this season, though Karinchak has been a bit more effective with only two hits allowed and a 20:2 K:BB. Both hurlers will continue to dominate the late-inning work for Cleveland, but Clase has the upper hand for early-season save opportunities.

Peralta was traded from the Giants to the Yankees on Tuesday in exchange for Mike Tauchman, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

The 29-year-old appeared 10 games for the Giants this season, posting a 5.40 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 8:3 K:BB over 8.1 innings. Peralta should fill a middle-relief role and provide lefty depth in the bullpen for the Yankees.

Pearson (groin) built up to 51 pitches over the weekend and will throw 3-to-4 rehab innings at the alternate site Thursday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

He gave up four earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two in his most recent rehab outing, and it sounds like the Jays want him to look a little sharper this week before determining the next steps. If all goes well Thursday, it's possible Pearson could join the big-league rotation next week.

Shawaryn signed a minor-league deal with the Royals on Tuesday.

Once a somewhat noteworthy prospect in Boston's farm system, Shawaryn will move on to his second organization. The 26-year-old righty will likely open the year at Double-A or Triple-A.

With Alex Colome reportedly moving to a lower-leverage role, Rogers is seemingly poised to serve as Minnesota's closer for the time being.

Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports that Colome will move to a lower-leverage role after giving up 10 hits and six earned runs over his last four innings while converting just 40 percent of his save chances on the season. Meanwhile, Rogers has given up zero earned runs while striking out 11 over 9.1 innings.

Colome is being moved to a lower-leverage role for the time being, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Manager Rocco Baldelli said he spoke to Colome earlier Tuesday to let him know. Taylor Rogers will likely get the majority of the save chances for now, while Hansel Robles might be the next man up. Colome is 2-for-5 in save chances and has given up 10 hits and six earned runs over his last four innings (five appearances).

Colome served up a walkoff two-run home run to Jordan Luplow, the lone batter he faced Monday in Minnesota's 5-3 loss to Cleveland in 10 innings.

Entering a 3-3 game with no outs and a runner on second, Colome threw only three pitches before Luplow took him deep to end the game. It was yet another meltdown in a high-leverage spot for Colome, who already has three losses and three blown saves on his ledger. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli suggested after the game that he still trusts Colome in big spots, but the 32-year-old has unquestionably lost some security in the closer's role since the start of the season. Taylor Rogers has already picked up a save and has yet to let in a run over 9.1 innings, making him the top candidate to get a look as the closer if the Twins ultimately choose to yank Colome from the job.

Diekman secured his third hold in a win over the Rays on Monday, allowing a hit and a walk as well as uncorking a wild pitch over one inning. He struck out one.

It was certainly a more eventful frame than the normally efficient Diekman is accustomed to, but the veteran left-hander ultimately worked himself out of trouble to set up Lou Trivino for a save opportunity in the ninth inning. Diekman has now recorded seven straight scoreless efforts, and the single he allowed to Randy Arozarena was the first hit against him since April 10, a span of six appearances.

Manager Charlie Montoyo said Thornton will serve as the opening pitcher for Tuesday's bullpen game against the Nationals, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Toronto is still waiting on Nate Pearson (groin) and Ross Stripling (forearm) to return from the injured list, so Thornton will make a second straight "spot start" to open the Blue Jays' five-game week. Thornton tossed two innings and 25 pitches in his last turn as an opener April 21, and he shouldn't push significantly past that distance Tuesday. Montoyo mentioned Tommy Milone as one of the relievers likely to eat innings once Thornton exits.
