Patino will start and is expected to cover a few innings as an opener Tuesday against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

It appeared the 21-year-old would receive a look as a traditional starter Tuesday, but he'll instead be followed by Josh Fleming as the primary pitcher. Patino maxed out at three innings and 56 pitches during his last outing May 4 and could have a similar workload versus New York.

Barria was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Barria has made just one big-league appearance this season, allowing seven runs in two innings of work while walking four and failing to strike out a single batter. He'll give the Angels length out of the bullpen, with Jose Suarez getting optioned in a corresponding move.

Pearson was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Pearson missed the first month of the season with a groin strain before being called up to start Sunday against the Astros. He struggled significantly, giving up three runs on four hits and five walks in just 2.1 innings of work while failing to strike out a single batter. The team evidently feels he has more to prove before he's ready to claim a rotation role. Jeremy Beasley was recalled in a corresponding move.

Baumann (elbow) tossed a three-inning simulated game Monday at the Orioles' extended spring training facility in Florida, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Baumann apparently checked out fine following the simulated game, so he'll be cleared to begin a rehab assignment this weekend. The right-hander will make his 2021 debut at Low-A Delmarva, and he'll likely make at least one or two more starts in Low-A or at another lower-level affiliate before eventually reclaiming a spot in the Triple-A Norfolk rotation once he's fully stretched out for starting duty.

White will be sidelined until at least mid-June due to a fractured bone in his hand, Adam J. Morris of LoneStarBall.com reports. Low-A Down East placed White on the 7-day injured list Saturday.

The injury is yet another unfortunate setback for White, whom the Rangers selected out of high school with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2018 first-year player draft. After the Rangers chose to delay his professional debut in 2018, White's 2019 campaign was wiped out by Tommy John surgery, while the COVID-19 pandemic prevented him from pitching in 2020. The 21-year-old finally got the chance to debut last week with Down East, only to pick up a new injury that will keep him on the shelf for at least a month.

Farmer cleared waivers Tuesday and was outrighted to Triple-A Toledo.

Farmer was designated for assignment Friday. It's no surprise he passed through waivers unclaimed, as he owns a 12.66 ERA and 2.25 WHIP through 10.2 innings this season.

Andriese (1-2) picked up the loss Monday after allowing three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two over two-plus innings against Baltimore.

Andriese was well rested and ready to pitch multiple innings when he came on in the sixth inning for starter Martin Perez. The game was tied at one apiece -- but not for long. The first batter he faced, Trey Mancini, took him deep over the center field wall. Andriese was later victimized by a fluky triple off the bat of Cedric Mullens. Andriese has been a convenient pocket knife out of the bullpen, working in a variety of situations, but he's hit a rough patch since the start of May. He's lost twice while allowing seven runs on 11 hits and three walks over his last four outings.

Iglesias gave up one hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Monday to record his sixth save of the season in a 5-4 win over the Astros.

The former Red has converted four straight save opportunities, going 6-for-8 overall to begin his tenure with the Angels. Iglesias has been far from automatic, posting a 5.54 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 13 innings, but his 17:3 K:BB is sharp, while his 20.6 percent swinging strike rate and 42.9 percent groundball rate are both career highs, suggesting better days ahead for his ratios.

Lakins pitched a perfect seventh inning with one strikeout to earn a hold in Monday's 4-1 win over Boston.

Prior to the now-completed Boston series, Lakins had allowed five runs across his previous two appearances. He got back on track at home with a pair of scoreless innings in Baltimore's last four games. Lakins has a 4.22 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 6:8 K:BB in 10.2 innings. Despite the recent improvement, the 26-year-old has been far too inconsistent to see high-leverage assignments often.

Scott (2-2) retired the only batter he faced via strikeout and earned the win Monday versus Boston.

Scott struck out Rafael Devers to end the sixth inning after starter Jorge Lopez allowed a double to Xander Bogaerts. The 26-year-old Scott has allowed just one run over his last six innings. He has a solid 2.45 ERA, but a 1.43 WHIP and 17:14 K:BB suggest he's had a fair amount of luck. He's seen mostly high-leverage work this season -- as long as he keeps runs off the board, that usage should continue.
