Thornton (1-3) took the loss Friday as the Blue Jays fell 6-5 to the Orioles, walking three batters and giving up an unearned run in the 10th inning.

The right-hander tossed only 13 of 29 pitches for strikes as he issued free passes to Anthony Santander, Maikel Franco and Pat Valaika to bring home Baltimore's courtesy runner in the 10th. Thornton is having a rough June, posting a 6.97 ERA through 10.1 innings, but his issues had been with the long ball -- he has allowed four homers this month -- and not control, as he had issued only one walk in June while striking out 13 batters. He figures to remain in a long-relief role until he begins to sort things out.

Sulser walked one and struck out one in a scoreless 10th inning Friday to record his second save of the season in a 6-5 win over the Blue Jays.

He earned this save by getting Vladimir Guerrero to ground into a double play with two on and nobody out. Both of Sulser's saves have come in June, and he's put himself back into the high-leverage mix for Baltimore with a 2.30 ERA and 40:10 K:BB through 27.1 innings on the year.

Manaea (6-4) suffered the loss against San Francisco on Friday despite allowing only one run on three hits and three walks across six innings. He struck out seven.

The left-hander pitched well in the battle of Bay Area teams, but he was outdueled by Giants starter Johnny Cueto, who held Oakland scoreless over seven frames. Manaea finished with his seventh straight start of three or fewer runs, and he has lowered his ERA from 4.40 to 2.91 since a disastrous two-inning, seven-run appearance against Boston on May 13. He is on pace for a career-best 9.3 K/9 and 0.8 HR/9, helping him to his finest campaign to date. Manaea's next start is lined up to come at home against the Rangers next week.

Kittredge gave up two runs on two hits over two innings in Friday's win over the Angels. He struck out two and did not factor in the decision.

Kittredge coughed up a pair of solo home runs to Shohei Ohtani and Anthony Rendon in the first inning. It was the first time he allowed a run since June 9, ending a scoreless streak of six appearances. The 31-year-old righty is sporting a 1.69 ERA and 35:10 K:BB through 37.1 innings this season.

Wittgren (2-2) allowed two runs on three hits in one inning, taking the loss Friday versus Minnesota.

Wittgren got two outs before allowing singles to Nick Gordon and Andrelton Simmons. A two-run double by Luis Arraez put Minnesota ahead for good, leaving Wittgren with his second loss of the year. The right-hander had pitched five consecutive scoreless innings prior to Friday. He has a 4.68 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB across 25 innings this year. He's added a save and five holds, but he's seen a lower-leverage role after a sloppy start to the season.

Robles allowed a run on two hits in one inning, earning the save in Friday's 8-7 win over Cleveland.

Robles was lucky to have a two-run cushion, as he gave up a one-out solo home run to Josh Naylor. He was able to limit the damage there to convert his seventh save of the season. The 30-year-old reliever has added 12 holds with a 3.63 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 34:19 K:BB across 34.2 innings this year. He'll likely continue to split closing duties with Taylor Rogers, who logged a perfect inning for a hold in Friday's game.

Jax (1-0) allowed three runs on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 4.1 innings Friday, earning the win versus Cleveland.

The 26-year-old followed Daniel Coulombe in Minnesota's bullpen game. Jax was effective in his fourth appearance of the year despite yielding three runs. The right-hander has a 7.82 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB across 12.2 innings this year. He'll likely continue to fill a bulk relief role while on the major-league roster, although he could also fill in as a spot starter.

Coulombe allowed three runs (one earned) on two hits and struck out two in 1.2 innings versus Cleveland on Friday. He did not factor in the decision.

Coulombe was called up from Triple-A St. Paul to serve as the opener Friday. He gave up home runs to Amed Rosario and Bobby Bradley in the first inning and couldn't complete the second before Griffin Jax entered the contest. It's unclear what Coulombe's role going forward will be if he sticks on the major-league roster, but he'd most likely take on a low-leverage role in the bullpen.

Payamps' back has been "so-so" recently according to manager Charlie Montoyo, which has led the Blue Jays to not use him, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

Payamps hasn't pitched since June 17, and Montoyo revealed Friday that the right-hander's lack of usage is due to an injury. The issue apparently hasn't been serious enough to warrant a trip to the injured list, but it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to the mound.

Coulombe's contract was selected by the Twins on Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Coulombe is expected to be the first pitcher in a bullpen game against Cleveland on Friday. He owns a respectable 4.19 ERA in 146 career innings at the major-league level. The veteran lefty has spent all of this season with Triple-A St. Paul, recording a 1.77 ERA over 20.1 frames.
