Barnes and the Red Sox agreed to a two-year extension Sunday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Barnes has served as team's primary closer to this point in the season, as he's recorded 19 saves in 23 opportunities. He's backed that with excellent swing-and-miss stuff, racking up 62 strikeouts across 37 innings. The extension runs through the 2023 season and also includes a club option for 2024.

Hendriks struck out three over 1.1 innings and earned the save in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Orioles.

Hendriks entered the bottom of the eighth inning with the bases loaded and the tying run on the on-deck circle, one of the circumstances when a pitcher can be credited with a save. He converted his seventh consecutive save chance and 23rd overall.

Sewald earned the save against the Angels on Saturday, tossing a perfect inning during which he struck out one batter.

With Seattle up by two runs in the ninth inning, it was Sewald who got the call in place of usual closer Kendall Graveman, who had pitched each of the previous two days. Sewald proved up to the challenge, needing only 12 pitches to retire the side in order. The right-hander has performed well in his first season with Seattle, posting a 1.40 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 44:11 K:BB across 25.2 innings. He has been seeing more high-leverage work of late, notching two saves and three holds in his past six outings.

Hernandez will start on the mound during Sunday's game against Cleveland, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Hernandez has pitched exclusively in relief thus far this season, with six of his 12 appearances lasting two or more innings. He most recently pitched 3.2 innings July 6, so he should have the ability to work into the fourth or fifth if he's somewhat efficient Sunday. The right-hander has allowed just one earned run across his last 7.2 innings dating back to June 25.

Yabrough (6-3) earned the win Saturday against the Blue Jays, allowing two runs on five hits over five innings of work while striking out four and walking two.

It was another solid but unspectacular outing for Yarbrough, who dragged his ERA down negligibly from 4.34 to 4.30. He tossed a pair of scoreless innings before giving up a two-run homer to Marcus Semien in the third, but he settled down to throw two more scoreless frames before his day was done. His next start will come sometime after the All-Star break.

The Yankees recalled Abreu from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Abreu has a 2.13 ERA in 12.2 innings with the Yankees this season. He most recently pitched Wednesday at Triple-A, completing a scoreless inning with two strikeouts. Jonathan Loaisiga (COVID-19) will be out for the last two games against Houston, so Abreu and Brooks Kriske will provide some additional bullpen depth before the break.

The Yankees placed Loaisiga on the COVID-19 injured list Saturday.

It's unclear whether the reliever tested positive for the virus or if he's just in COVID-19 protocols. Regardless, he'll have the All-Star break to get healthy and potentially return for Thursday's series opener against the Red Sox.

Manager Dusty Baker doesn't expect Raley (COVID-19 protocols) to rejoin the Astros for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Raley figures to be healthy and good-to-go when the Astros open the second half against the White Sox next Friday.

The Red Sox are placing Andriese on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right hamstring injury, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Manager Alex Cora said Andriese was limping after the final pitch of his two-run inning Friday. He will be sidelined until after the All-Star break, at which point he could be demoted to Triple-A due to his abysmal performance the past couple months. Andriese posted a 1.42 ERA in 12.2 innings across nine April appearances, but he has pitched to an 8.39 ERA and 2.11 WHIP in 24.2 innings since. He's also blown three saves and taken two losses since the start of May. The Red Sox have yet to announce a corresponding move.

Borucki (forearm) will throw a rehab inning Saturday with Triple-A Buffalo and may be ready to be activated following the All-Star break, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

Manager Charlie Montoyo said the lefty might make another rehab appearance Tuesday if Saturday's work goes well. Borucki, working his way back from a left forearm strain, completed a perfect, one-strikeout inning in his first rehab outing July 7.
