The Orioles assigned Zimmermann (biceps) to the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Monday to begin a rehab program.

Zimmermann looks to be ready for game action after being shut down for just over a month with left biceps tendinitis. The rookie southpaw will most likely require at least two rehab outings in the minors to ramp up for his pitch count, making mid-to-late August a reasonable estimate for his return to Baltimore's rotation. Before hitting the injured list, Zimmermann went 4-4 with a 4.83 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 53:20 K:BB across 59.2 innings with the Orioles.

Barlow allowed a run on two hits in two innings to earn the save in Monday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.

The right-hander was called upon to pitch the eighth inning and remained in the game for the ninth. He allowed a ground-rule double to Yoan Moncada, who scored on Adam Engel's RBI single, but Barlow was able to induce a game-ending double play from Brian Goodwin to protect the lead. This was Barlow's second save in his last three appearances; he and Greg Holland seem to be manager Mike Matheny's favorites in Kansas City's closer committee for now. Barlow owns a 2.76 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 63:20 K:BB across 49 innings.

The Mariners reinstated Santiago to the active roster Tuesday after he completed his 10-game suspension.

Santiago's suspension stemmed from his ejection in a June 26 appearance versus the White Sox after officials spotted a foreign substance on his glove. Before his suspension went into effect July 15, Santiago had been working as a starter for Seattle, but it's unclear whether he'll now slot back into a starting role or move to the bullpen. If the Mariners do decide to deploy Santiago in the rotation, he would likely replace Darren McCaughan, who was touched up for seven runs in four innings in the Mariners' come-from-behind victory Monday.

Soto (4-2) took the loss Monday as the Tigers were downed 6-5 by the Twins, giving up an unearned run on one hit and four walks over 1.2 innings. He struck out three.

The southpaw barely escaped the ninth inning in a tie game, walking the bases loaded before striking out Willians Astudillo to escape the jam. Soto's luck didn't hold in the 10th, as a Max Kepler walkoff single brought home the phantom runner. The four free passes equaled his total from his prior 12 appearances combined, a stretch during which he'd posted a 2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB through 13.1 innings while converting six of seven save chances, so there's currently no reason to be concerned about his place in the closer mix.

Raley allowed two runs on one hit, one walk and a hit batsman without retiring a batter in Monday's 11-8 loss to the Mariners.

With a couple of Houston's more trusted relievers unavailable, manager Dusty Baker had to go with Ryne Stanek and then Raley in the bottom of the eighth inning. Houston led 8-7 before Stanek came in, but Seattle plated four to complete a comeback from a 7-0 deficit. This was Raley's first outing since coming off the COVID-19 protocols list, and he was ejected after three hitters. With runners on first and second, he walked Tom Murphy, gave up a grand slam to Dylan Moore, then hit J.P. Crawford, prompting the ejection.

Rogers left Monday's game against the Tigers due to a left middle finger sprain, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

It's unclear whether Rogers will miss extended time as a result of the injury. More information should become available after further evaluation, which will likely occur in the coming days.

Richards (4-1) allowed two runs on a hit and two walks with one strikeout in 1.1 innings, taking the loss Monday versus Boston.

Richards allowed a two-run home run to Alex Verdugo in the eighth inning, and Toronto was unable to pull even again. This was Richards' first loss in 27 appearances between three teams this year. The right-hander owns a 3.72 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 53:14 K:BB across 38.2 innings, and he's not expected to contend for saves in Toronto's bullpen.

Hatch allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 3.2 innings in a no-decision versus Boston on Monday.

The 26-year-old's first appearance of the year wasn't all that impressive, and he was on the hook for the loss before Bo Bichette's fifth-inning homer. Hatch has made eight starts for Triple-A Buffalo this year, but he's only covered 29.1 innings as he was on a pitch count due to an elbow impingement suffered in March. It's unlikely the right-hander sees a regular turn in the rotation once Alek Manoah (back) comes off the injured list, but Hatch could be a candidate to start in a doubleheader versus Boston next week.

Ottavino (3-3) earned the win Monday versus Toronto. He allowed one hit in a scoreless inning.

The right-hander kept the deficit to one run, and Alex Verdugo put Boston ahead in the bottom of the eighth inning. Ottavino struggled during last weekend's series versus the Yankees, allowing four runs across two appearances. He's mostly been a setup man this year with 16 holds, seven saves and four blown saves across 41.1 innings. He's added a solid 3.27 ERA, but his 1.35 WHIP and 47:23 K:BB leave plenty to be desired.

Rogers exited Monday's game against the Tigers due to a hand injury, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Rogers was pulled from the contest after he threw a wild pitch, and he was spotted looking down at his hand after the delivery. The nature of the injury is unknown at this time. Alex Colome was called upon to close out the game following the injury.
