Romano (7-1) picked up the win in Friday's wild 11-10 victory over the A's, giving up two runs on two hits in the ninth inning. He struck out two without walking a batter.

The Jays headed into the eighth inning down 8-2 but staged a huge rally to tie the game. Romano then came out for the top of the ninth and promptly served up a two-run shot to Mark Canha, but then found himself collecting a win instead of a loss when Marcus Semien responded with a walkoff three-run blast. Romano saw his 11-game scoreless streak snapped, but he still has a sharp 2.47 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 69:20 K:BB through 51 innings on the year with 15 saves and five holds in addition to his victories.

Trivino coughed up four runs on a hit, two walks and a hit by pitch over two-thirds of an inning in Friday's 11-10 loss to the Blue Jays.

Making his first appearance since Aug. 26, Trivino entered the game in the eighth inning in a low-leverage spot with the A's ahead 8-2, but the right-hander got the ball rolling on a complete meltdown by the Oakland bullpen. He has been dealing with back trouble recently, but this still marked the fourth straight outing in which Trivino has been scored upon, and his usage Friday suggests he may no longer hold the closer job.

Manaea didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 11-10 loss to the Blue Jays, allowing two runs on five hits over seven innings. He struck out nine without walking a batter.

The lefty seemed to be cruising to his ninth win of the season, exiting after 86 pitches (64 strikes) with a comfortable 8-2 lead, but the Oakland bullpen imploded behind him. Manaea still delivered his 13th quality start of the season, and he sports a 3.91 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and sparkling 165:36 K:BB through 149.2 innings.

Brasier allowed one run on two hits and a walk over two-thirds of an inning in Friday's 8-5 win over Cleveland.

This was Brasier's first appearance of the season after a litany of setbacks since the offseason. He suffered a broken pinkie finger during the offseason, then a left calf strain in spring training, followed by a concussion in June. His reinstatement comes at a perfect time, as Boston has four relievers in COVID-19 protocols. He's been a key piece in the Red Sox's bullpen the previous three seasons.

Hernandez (5-1) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks over six innings Friday, striking out three and earning a win over the White Sox.

It was an impressive outing for Hernandez, who kept the White Sox scoreless through five innings and never gave up an extra-base hit. He coughed up two runs in the sixth, but his offense had already tacked on seven runs in support. Over his last seven outings, the 6-foot-4 righty is 4-0 with a 1.92 ERA and 31:10 K:BB through 42.1 frames. Hernandez is lined up to face the Orioles on the road next week.

Pressly recorded the save in Friday's 6-3 win over the Padres, allowing a walk in the ninth inning.

Pressly entered in the ninth with a three-run lead and worked around a one-out walk to Fernando Tatis to lock down his 23rd save of the season. He's now recorded saves in each of his last four appearances and has permitted just one run in 11 innings dating back to the beginning of August.

Ramirez fired a perfect 10th inning while striking out one to earn the save in the win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Ramirez entered the 10th inning with a one-run lead and a runner on second base. He retired the side in order, picking up his second save of the season. The reliever has a 3.86 ERA and 0.80 WHIP with 24 strikeouts in 18.2 innings. He does not normally pitch in save situations, but extra-innings allowed him to receive another rare opportunity.

Tate (0-6) took the loss in extra innings versus the Yankees on Friday. He allowed an unearned run on one hit in one-third of an inning.

Tate was able to get Aaron Judge to ground out to end the 10th inning with a runner on third. In the 11th, Judge came around to score on a walkoff single by Giancarlo Stanton after Baltimore's offense came up flat. Tate has taken losses in three straight appearances, allowing five runs (four earned) in 1.1 innings in that span. He's struggling in higher-leverage assignments, with an ERA now at 4.69 across 55.2 innings this season.

Holmes (6-2) allowed a hit and struck out one in one inning to earn the win Friday versus Baltimore.

The right-hander kept Baltimore off the board in the 11th inning, setting the stage for Giancarlo Stanton's walkoff single in the Yankees' half of the frame. Holmes has yielded only three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out 12 in 12.1 innings since he joined the Yankees at the trade deadline. He's added three wins and three holds in that span, although there's little chance he works his way into a more prominent role with Aroldis Chapman entrenched as the closer. Chad Green and Jonathan Loaisiga are more likely to get ninth-inning duties if Chapman falters.

Hentges pitched a perfect inning in relief during Friday's 8-5 loss to Boston.

The southpaw last started Aug. 26, allowing four runs (two earned) versus Texas. Logan Allen took Hentges' regular turn through the rotation Wednesday, suggesting the latter isn't currently set for work as a starter. With Aaron Civale (finger) also nearing a return from the 60-day injured list, Hentges could either be ticketed for a move to the bullpen or a demotion to Triple-A Columbus -- given his 7.18 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 54:30 K:BB through 57.2 innings this season, he could benefit from more work in the minors.
