Howard (undisclosed) is back with the team Saturday and should be activated to start sometime during the Rangers' current road trip, which runs through Sept. 12, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Howard hit the COVID-19 injured list in late August. He tossed two innings in a rehab outing Thursday, allowing one run on three hits while striking out three batters. It remains unclear exactly when he's expected to return.

Mills was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Mills' latest stint in the majors lasted one week. He made just a single appearance, allowing a run on two hits in one inning of work, though that actually lowered his ERA and WHIP to 9.95 and 2.05, respectively.

Misiewicz (forearm) was activated off the injured list Saturday.

Misiewicz won't wind up missing more than the minimum 10 days while battling a strained left forearm. He's been a useful part of the Mariners' bullpen lately, allowing an earned run in just two of his last 15 appearances.

Carlton was called up by the Tigers for the first time Saturday.

Carlton doesn't come with much prospect pedigree, as he was selected 965th overall in the 2017 draft and has pitched almost exclusively in relief in the minors. He's looked good in 49 innings for Triple-A Toledo this season, riding a 25.0 percent strikeout rate and 5.2 percent walk rate to a 3.12 ERA.

Snead was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.

Snead was only on the big-league roster for a single day and did not make an appearance. The move clears a spot for the Blue Jays to add recent waiver claim Jake Lamb to the active roster.

Santana (2-4) allowed one earned run on four hits while striking out one across 1.1 innings, taking the loss to the Angels on Friday.

Santana allowed three hits in the sixth inning to allow the Angels to take the lead. It was his second relief loss in his last four appearances. The 25-year-old has a 5.44 ERA and 1.65 WHIP with 35 strikeouts in 43 innings this season.

Otto allowed two earned runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four across 4.2 innings in the loss to the Angels on Friday. He did not factor into the decision.

Otto allowed three hits in the first inning that led to a pair of runs. He didn't have any further damage, but he was relieved with two outs in the fifth inning. It wasn't a bad start, but it wasn't a repeat of his scoreless MLB debut. He'll be pitching for his spot in the starting rotation with Dane Dunning, Mike Foltynewicz and Spencer Howard all expected to eventually return from the COVID-19 injured list.

Iglesias fired a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit while striking out one to earn the save in the win over the Rangers on Friday.

Iglesias entered the ninth inning with a one-run lead. He allowed a leadoff single but retired the following three batters to finish the game. He has three saves in his last three appearances. The 31-year-old has a 2.66 ERA and 0.84 WHIP with a 13.6 K/9 in 61 innings this season.

Alexander didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 15-5 win over the Reds, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out five.

The Tigers supplied all the run support the southpaw could have asked for, but Alexander wasn't efficient enough to qualify for his third win, getting the hook after 79 pitches (50 strikes). He'll take a 4.25 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 66:19 K:BB through 78.1 innings into his next appearance.

Romano (7-1) picked up the win in Friday's wild 11-10 victory over the A's, giving up two runs on two hits in the ninth inning. He struck out two without walking a batter.

The Jays headed into the eighth inning down 8-2 but staged a huge rally to tie the game. Romano then came out for the top of the ninth and promptly served up a two-run shot to Mark Canha, but then found himself collecting a win instead of a loss when Marcus Semien responded with a walkoff three-run blast. Romano saw his 11-game scoreless streak snapped, but he still has a sharp 2.47 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 69:20 K:BB through 51 innings on the year with 15 saves and five holds in addition to his victories.
