Foley was recalled from Triple-A Toledo ahead of Tuesday's game against the Brewers.

Foley has held his own across his first 6.1 major-league innings this season, allowing just two earned runs on six hits while striking out a pair. He'll rejoin the big club for the first time since the end of August and figures to pick up some of Jose Cisnero's (elbow) innings with the latter moving to the injured list.

Anderson (elbow), just activated from the injured list Sunday, fired a scoreless seventh inning during which he allowed a hit and issued a walk in Monday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Anderson had been looking increasingly stronger in his last few rehab appearances before activation, and that momentum carried over Monday. The right-hander gave his previously injured elbow a good test by logging 23 pitches overall. While Anderson's control was a bit rusty -- he got just 11 offerings into the strike zone -- and his fastball averaged just 92.1 mph during the outing as per Adam Berry of MLB.com, manager Kevin Cash was pleased with what he saw. "It was good to have Nick out there on the mound. He looked the part," Cash said. "He's worked hard to get back to this point. We'll look forward to seeing him again in the next day or two and see how the stuff continues to progress."

Holmes (8-3) pitched a perfect inning, striking out one batter to pick up the win over Minnesota on Monday.

The right-hander pitched the top of the 10th inning for New York and retired the side in order while preventing the designated runner from crossing the plate. He was credited with the win as a result of Gary Sanchez driving home the winning run in the bottom of the frame. Holmes has earned five wins in 16 appearances since joining the Yankees in late July, and he has registered an excellent 2.04 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 21:1 K:BB across 17.2 frames during that stretch.

Cisnero was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right elbow laceration, retroactive to Monday.

Per Evan Woodbery of MLive.com, he suffered the injury when he fell on the stairs during Monday's day off. It's not entirely clear how long the right-hander is expected to be sidelined, but he'll become eligible to come off the IL for the Sept. 24 game against the Royals. Cisnero struggled in his last two appearances, allowing seven earned runs on four hits and three walks. Reliever Jason Foley was recalled from Triple-A Toledo to take his roster spot.

Mejia was recalled to serve as the extra man for Tuesday's doubleheader against the Twins, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Mejia was optioned last Tuesday but returns a week later to serve as presumably a low-leverage relief option. He's accomplished very little in his first taste of the majors this season, struggling to an 8.75 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in 11 starts and three relief appearances.

Wells is listed as the Orioles' starting pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Yankees in Baltimore.

The Australian lefty will stick in the rotation for a second straight turn and pick up his fifth start of the season overall after he tossed four innings his last time out against the Royals on Sept. 7, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks. While the outing was nothing to write home about, he'll receive another start nonetheless after Baltimore's rotation depth took a hit with Matt Harvey sustaining a season-ending knee injury in his outing last week.

Yarbrough (8-5) took the loss in relief Monday, coughing up seven runs on 10 hits and a walk in 2.1 innings as the Rays were downed 8-1 by the Blue Jays. He struck out one.

The southpaw entered the game after Collin McHugh in the third inning, and while Yarbrough was able to wiggle out of the jam McHugh left for him, he didn't have the same luck in the fourth or fifth frames. Yarbrough needed 77 pitches (46 strikes) to record only seven outs, and he's been tagged for seven earned runs in back-to-back outings while giving up at least five in five of nine appearances since the All-Star break. His 7.50 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 27:9 K:BB through 42 innings in the second half should keep him far away from active fantasy rosters down the stretch.

McHugh didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 8-1 loss to the Blue Jays, giving up three hits over 2.1 scoreless innings. He struck out one without walking a batter.

The veteran hurler lasted exactly one turn through the Toronto order, and McHugh left the game in a bit of a jam with two runners on and one out in the third inning. Fortunately for him, Ryan Yarbrough didn't allow any of the inherited runners to score when he replaced McHugh. Unfortunately for the Rays, Yarbrough's night went south right afterward. McHugh will continue to handle a flexible role on the Tampa Bay staff and has worked two-plus innings in eight of 11 appearances since the All-Star break, posting a dazzling 0.90 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB through 20 innings with four wins, a save and a hold over that stretch.

Alexy allowed six runs on four hits, four walks and a hit batsman while striking out three over 3.2 relief innings in Monday's 15-1 loss to the Astros.

Alexy made two encouraging starts for the Rangers, throwing 11 scoreless innings, before manager Chris Woodward opted to piggyback him for his third outing behind starter Spencer Howard. Alexy discussed the changes in preparation needed to come out of the bullpen with Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. "It's always different when you are coming out of the bullpen," the right-hander said. "Deciphering when to start getting really ready is always a little different out there." He had pitched in a similar role six times in the minors, but that was after a definite one-inning limit for the game opener. On Monday, Howard was on a 50-pitch limit, but there was no telling how long he would last.

Howard (0-4) picked up a loss after he only lasted 1.1 innings, surrendering six runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two versus the Astros on Monday.

The 25-year-old was tagged for three runs in the first inning and then three more in the second before getting pulled. Howard now owns a 7.38 ERA and 1.59 WHIP over 39 innings this season. He is on an innings limit still after being reinstated from the COVID-19 list on Sept. 8 and his next opportunity to start is tentatively scheduled for Sunday versus the White Sox.
