Sousa retired the lone batter he faced via a fly ball to record the save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Red Sox.

Closer Liam Hendriks was unavailable Sunday after pitching the past two days, and Jose Ruiz was called upon for the save in his place. Ruiz allowed a leadoff double before retiring the next two batters, and Sousa then entered to face pinch-hitter Kevin Plawecki, who was retired on four pitches. Sousa is receiving his first taste of the majors this year and has a 4.82 ERA through 12 outings, and he shouldn't be expected to see high-leverage opportunities with much frequency.

Richan (undisclosed) began a rehab assignment at Single-A Lakeland on May 1 and has struck out four over three scoreless innings between his two appearances.

Richan opened the season on Double-A Erie's 7-day injured list and is eventually expected to settle into the affiliate's rotation once he's fully built up for a starting role during his rehab assignment at Lakeland.

White Sox manager Tony La Russa said after Sunday's 3-2 win over the Red Sox that Bummer is slated to land on the injured list with a sore knee, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Bummer presumably picked up the injury during his most recent relief appearance Friday, when he tossed a scoreless inning en route to notching his seventh hold of the season. The White Sox will likely make the transaction official prior to Monday's series opener with the Guardians.

Rosenberg was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

Rosenberg has been in the majors for the past week but didn't make an appearance during his time with the Halos. He'll head back to Salt Lake, where he has a 0.96 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB over 9.1 innings.

The Mariners transferred Giles (finger) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Giles' move to the 60-day IL ensures he won't make his season debut until at least early June and clears room on the 40-man roster for pitcher George Kirby, who was called up from Double-A Arkansas in advance of his first MLB start Sunday against the Rays. Though Giles was sidelined for the entire 2021 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, a right middle finger sprain is what has prevented him from pitching at any level with the Mariners thus far in 2022. He was cleared to begin a throwing program just over a week ago, but he'll essentially need to complete a spring training-esque progression before he's deemed ready to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment.

Rom (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list at Double-A Bowie this week.

Rom made his longest start of the season May 4, tossing 5.1 innings of two-run, five-hit ball, but it appears he's sustained an injury. There are no available details on the southpaw's injury. He has a 3.98 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 25:7 K:BB in 20.1 innings with Bowie.

The Guardians optioned De Los Santos to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

De Los Santos wasn't going to be available for Sunday's series finale with Toronto after he worked an inning and tossed 30 pitches while giving up a run and walking three in Saturday's 8-3 loss in Game 1 of a doubleheader. As a result, the Guardians will swap De Los Santos off the 26-man active roster for Kirk McCarty, who was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

The Guardians recalled Pilkington from Triple-A Columbus ahead of his scheduled start in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

As a result of Saturday's doubleheader, the Guardians will temporarily require a sixth member of the rotation. Enter Pilkington, who will pick up his first big-league start in the series finale versus Toronto. The 24-year-old lefty previously made his MLB debut as a member of Cleveland's bullpen, but after being optioned to Triple-A on April 24, he made a pair of starts for Columbus. In his most recent outing May 3, Pilkington covered three innings and tossed 59 pitches, so the Guardians could end up treating Sunday's game as more of a bullpen day rather than asking the southpaw to work deep into his start.

The Yankees recalled Marinaccio from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

He'll join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for outfielder Tim Locastro (back), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday. After surprisingly winning a spot in the Yankees' Opening Day bullpen, Marinaccio gave up five earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out six in four innings over his four relief appearances before he was optioned to Triple-A on April 28.

The Rangers recalled Sborz from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

He's been designated as the 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader with the Yankees and will provide the Rangers with an extra arm out of the bullpen. The Rangers will likely option Sborz to Triple-A at the conclusion of the twin bill.
