Clase walked two batters in a scoreless ninth inning against the Yankees on Sunday. He earned a save and recorded one strikeout.

After issuing a two-out walk to Aaron Judge, Clase was faced with a bases-loaded threat. He then forced Aaron Hicks to ground out to end the 2-0 game. Clase has now gone 20 straight appearances without allowing a run; the flame-throwing righty has converted each of his 12 save opportunities while posting a 23:3 K:BB during that stretch. The 24-year-old is sporting a 1.31 ERA with 37 punchouts through 34.1 innings this season.

Barlow struck out one in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Sunday's win over the Tigers.

Barlow has had plenty of high-leverage opportunities recently, and he's picked up saves in four of his last five outings dating back to June 24. The righty has a 2.25 ERA and 1.03 WHIP this season, both of which would be the best marks of his career. He earned a career-high 16 saves last year and is on pace to eclipse that mark in 2022 since he's converted 12 of 14 save chances to begin the year.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Hill, who will start the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Guardians, will make three turns through the rotation leading up to the All-Star break, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Detroit called up Hill from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday and will officially bring Alex Faedo aboard from Toledo on Monday, when the two pitchers are expected to start the two doubleheader contests. Though Faedo has previously made 10 starts for the big club while Hill will be making his MLB debut Monday, the latter looks like he'll be sticking in the rotation over the former following the twin bill. Detroit could get one or both of Rony Garcia (shoulder) or Matt Manning (biceps/shoulder) back from the injured list shortly after the break, so Hill may need to prove serviceable while eating innings over his three starts to ensure he remains in the rotation when the second half of the season begins. Over his eight outings with Toledo prior to his promotion, the 26-year-old Hill turned in a 4.06 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 46:15 K:BB across 37.2 innings.

The Blue Jays optioned Lawrence to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.

Lawrence was up with Toronto for just one day after he was designated as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader with the Rays. With Kevin Gausman exiting after two innings in his start in Game 1 with an ankle injury, Lawrence was called upon in long relief and was the pitcher of record in Toronto's 6-2 loss. He was charged with six runs -- all earned -- on seven hits and one walk while striking out six over 5.2 innings out of the bullpen.

Wantz was reinstated from his three-game suspension Saturday and made a relief appearance in the Angels' 9-1 loss to the Astros, giving up two runs on two hits over an inning while striking out two of the five batters he faced.

Wantz was handed the three-game suspension for throwing pitches at Seattle's Julio Rodriguez and Jesse Winker in a June 26 spot start, with his actions inciting a benches-clearing brawl. The 26-year-old returned to his familiar bullpen role Saturday, but he provided little relief behind starter Patrick Sandoval, as Wantz served up solo home runs to Martin Maldonado and Jose Altuve.

Reyes (elbow) has posted a 4.26 ERA and 1.51 WHIP while striking out 33 and gathering four saves across 25.1 innings in 25 relief appearances for Triple-A Salt Lake this season.

Though Reyes underwent Tommy John surgery in mid-March 2021, he made a remarkably quick recovery from the procedure, as he was included on Salt Lake's Opening Day roster. Considering the offense-friendly environment he's been pitching in in the Pacific Coast League, Reyes has acquitted himself well, but a promotion to the Angels doesn't appear to be imminent for the 29-year-old.

Pruitt allowed a run on two hits and struck out six over 4.1 innings during Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Mariners.

Pruitt took over in the second inning after Frankie Montas (shoulder) exited the game early. This was Pruitt's longest outing of the season, and his third of three or more innings in 12 appearances overall. The right-hander has a 4.42 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 13:1 K:BB through 18.1 innings. It seems unlikely for the 32-year-old to be an option as a spot starter if Montas has to miss time -- Pruitt saw some starts in the minors in 2021 but hasn't regularly worked in that role since 2016.

Sewald struck out one in a perfect inning to secure the save in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Athletics.

Sewald had no trouble protecting a one-run lead, retiring Vimael Machin, Sean Murphy and Stephen Vogt on a combined 13 pitches. This was Sewald's fifth straight appearance with a save, which has pushed him to the head of the Mariners' closer committee. He's allowed four runs in 13 innings since the start of June and owns a 2.73 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB across 29.2 innings while adding nine saves, four holds and two blown saves this season.

Kay (undisclosed) returned from Triple-A Buffalo's 7-day injured list Thursday and struck out none over 1.2 innings while allowing two runs on two hits and three walks.

Kay was back in action for the Triple-A club for the first time in more than two months after he was sidelined with an unspecified injury. The 27-year-old lefty remains on Toronto's 40-man roster, but he looks to be a long way away from receiving consideration for a spot in the big-league rotation.

Pardinho (elbow) struck out three over two scoreless innings Wednesday in his season debut for Single-A Dunedin.

Pardinho was sidelined for the first two months of the season with a right elbow injury before he was cleared to join the Blue Jays' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate for a pair of rehab outings. He showed enough in the two FCL outings to rejoin the Dunedin rotation, but he's still expected to have his workload monitored carefully throughout his age-21 campaign.
