Barlow (finger) shifted his rehab assignment from Double-A Frisco to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.

Barlow will make a rehab appearance for Round Rock later Wednesday in what could be his final tune-up outing before returning from the 15-day injured list. When he's likely activated this weekend, Barlow will be rejoining a Rangers bullpen that is a bit thinner after Matt Bush was dealt to the Brewers, but Barlow may still have to settle for a setup or middle-relief role initially. That being said, Brett Martin has been shaky in his recent save chances, so if Barlow pitches effectively upon being activated, he may not have to wait long to get another look as the team's closer.

Zerpa (knee) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

Zerpa landed on the injured list with right knee discomfort last Wednesday, but he'll ultimately be forced to miss at least two months after the Royals detected a small tear in his patella tendon, per Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star. The southpaw posted a 1.64 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 11 innings over three appearances (two starts) in the majors this year, and though he'll technically be eligible to come off the IL in the penultimate week of the regular season, the Royals are more likely to shut him down rather than risking a potential setback heading into the offseason.

Thielbar (hamstring) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Wednesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Thielbar made a relief appearance at Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday and struck out one in a perfect inning. He'll rejoin the Twins' bullpen after Joe Smith was designated for assignment Wednesday.

The Blue Jays optioned White to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.

The transaction is merely procedural, as White had already been optioned to the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City before he was acquired by the Blue Jays on Tuesday. White will thus be eligible to be called up at any point, and Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca relays that'll most likely happen in advance of Saturday's game against the Twins, when the right-hander is expected to fill the opening in the rotation created by Ross Stripling's (glute) move to the injured list. Stripling is expected to spend the minimum 15 days on the shelf, but that should be enough time for White to make at least two turns through the rotation.

Hearn allowed one walk and struck out one over two scoreless relief innings in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to Baltimore.

Hearn was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock where he's been working on a transition from starter to multi-inning reliever. Despite the need to fill a rotation spot after Jon Gray (left oblique) was placed on the injured list, the Rangers will keep Hearn in his current role. The club feels he can be effective when not having to face lineups multiple times in a game. The lefty has a 1.35 ERA over 13.2 innings as a reliever in the bigs.

Rosenberg has been building back up after his arm "didn't feel great" following a period on paternity leave, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Rosenberg last pitched for Triple-A Salt Lake on July 3 and went on paternity leave soon thereafter. The southpaw discovered that his arm didn't feel right upon his return, but he's now throwing and hopes to be able to return to game action in a few weeks. Rosenberg has pitched in three major-league games with the Angels this season, posting a 4.22 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB over 10.2 innings.

Sandlin allowed one hit in two scoreless innings during Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Sandlin allowed two runs in his first appearance after his July 5 recall, but he's since strung together eight scoreless frames while allowing just three hits, a walk and a hit batter. The right-hander has a 2.60 ERA, but a 1.34 WHIP and 23:19 K:BB are concerning ratios for his ability to maintain success. He's added a 4-2 record, five holds and a blown save, but he's mainly seen low-leverage work during his current stint in the majors.

Howard (2-3) allowed six runs on six hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out three over four-plus innings to take the loss versus the Orioles on Tuesday.

Most of the damage against Howard came in the third inning, with Jorge Mateo's three-run home run enough to send the Rangers starter to a loss. He's now allowed 11 homers in nine appearances this season. The right-hander has a 6.82 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 29:14 K:BB through 34.1 innings. With Jon Gray (oblique) out until at least September, Howard is likely to maintain a spot in the rotation. His next start is projected to be a home matchup against the White Sox this weekend.

Quijada pitched a perfect ninth inning to save Tuesday's 3-1 win against the Athletics. He failed to record a strikeout.

With Raisel Iglesias shipped to Atlanta at the trade deadline, Quijada received the first crack at the ninth inning and delivered with a clean frame on just eight pitches. The 26-year-old was tagged for three runs in one-third of an inning in his last appearance Sunday but had tossed five scoreless innings while allowing only two baserunners prior. He sports a 3.15 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 24 strikeouts in 20 innings across 21 games this season.

Yarbrough will pitch behind opener Jalen Beeks against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, Steve Carney of MLB.com reports.

Yarbrough worked as a traditional starter his last time out and allowed one run across six innings in Baltimore, but he'll operate as a primary pitcher Wednesday. Overall it's been a struggle this year for the left-hander with a 5.11 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 34:13 K:BB across 49.1 innings.
