Abreu issued a walk in a scoreless one-third of an inning to earn the save in a 4-2 victory over the Twins on Tuesday.

Abreu came on in relief of Hector Neris with two outs in the ninth. Neris had come into the game with a 4-0 lead but gave up two runs and was pulled with two men on. Abreu loaded the bases on a walk but struck out a struggling Jake Cave on a nasty 0-2 slider to close out the game for his second save of the season. Astros manager Dusty Baker explained after the game that closer Ryan Pressly was unavailable due to a reoccurrence of neck stiffness.

Heasley gave up four hits and four walks while striking out two over 4.2 scoreless innings in a 7-3 loss to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. He did not factor into the decision.

Heasley was recalled from Triple-A to make the start in lieu of Brad Keller who was moved to the bullpen last week. Heasley had struggled in 13 previous starts this season, but he managed to hold the Diamondbacks off the board through 4.2 innings on 79 pitches. Heasley's four walks could have gotten him into trouble against a stronger lineup. The 25-year-old right-hander has a 48:33 K:BB through 65 innings pitched. He is tentatively expected to make his next start at the White Sox, when he will look for his second win of the season.

Curry was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Aug. 16.

Curry made his major-league debut Aug. 15, allowing three runs in five innings versus the Tigers, but it was only a spot start. He pitched for Columbus on Tuesday, getting rocked for eight runs (six earned) on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 3.2 innings in his first appearance back with the affiliate.

Clase struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Padres.

Clase is on a 7.1-inning scoreless streak, having allowed just two hits while striking out 11 in that span. He's converted 23 straight save chances and is now 29-for-31 on the year. The flame-throwing righty has also maintained excellent ratios with a 1.20 ERA, 0.65 WHIP and 57:6 K:BB through 52.2 innings this year as one of the top closers in baseball.

Sewald allowed a run on two hits and struck out one over one inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Nationals.

Sewald gave up an RBI single to Lane Thomas in the ninth inning, ending the right-hander's 10-inning streak without allowing an earned run. He still got the save after stopping the damage there. The 32-year-old is 16-for-19 in save chances this year while pitching to an excellent 2.36 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 55:12 K:BB through 49.2 innings. The save Tuesday was his first in nearly two weeks, though no other Mariner reliever had logged one since Sewald's previous save (Aug. 10).

Logue (3-8) took the loss Tuesday versus the Marlins. He allowed two runs on three hits and struck out seven across 5.1 innings without walking a batter.

Logue surrendered a solo shot to Brian Anderson in the fourth inning and ran into more trouble in the sixth. On the bright side, the seven strikeouts were a season high, and he avoided issuing a walk for the second time in 11 appearances (10 starts). The 26-year-old has a 6.04 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 38:17 K:BB through 50.2 innings this year. He's projected for a tougher home start versus the Yankees this weekend.

Pressly was unavailable during Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Twins due to neck stiffness, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Pressly was unavailable for a few days earlier in August with neck stiffness, and the issue has apparently resurfaced over the past couple days. The veteran right-hander last pitched Sunday against Atlanta, and he allowed two runs while picking up his 25th save of the year. It's unclear if he'll be available for Wednesday's matchup with Minnesota, and he should be considered day-to-day. Bryan Abreu secured a one-out save Tuesday, but Rafael Montero is the primary candidate for any save chances while Pressly is banged up.

Sands exited Tuesday's loss to the Astros after being struck in the upper right arm by a comebacker, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The 24-year-old followed starter Aaron Sanchez and allowed a run on four hits with three strikeouts and zero walks over two innings before being hit by the comebacker. Sands threw 38 pitches and was likely to be unavailable for a day or two regardless of the injury due to the workload, and he should be considered day-to-day for now.

Bautista earned the save Tuesday against the White Sox, striking out three and hitting a batter in 1.2 innings in a 5-3 victory.

Bautista entered the game with one out and two on in the eighth inning and struck out both Luis Robert and Jose Abreu while keeping Chicago off the board. He retired the side in order in the ninth to end the game. It was his ninth save in 10 chances and sixth in August. The rookie has a 1.74 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 15:2 K:BB in 10.1 innings this month.

Voth (4-1) earned the victory Tuesday against the White Sox, striking out three in 5.2 innings while allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks.

Both runs against Voth came in the first inning when Eloy Jimenez hit a two-run homer. Voth allowed at least one baserunner in each of his innings but managed to keep Chicago off the board after the first. As a starter this season, the 30-year-old has a 2.81 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 42:14 K:BB in 48 innings across 11 appearances. He set season highs Tuesday with 86 pitches and six frames completed.
