The Twins recalled Henriquez from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

Henriquez, whom the Twins acquired in March in the deal that sent catcher Mitch Garver to the Rangers, will reach the big leagues for the first time in his career. The 22-year-old right-hander split time between the rotation and bullpen at Triple-A this season, delivering a 5.66 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 106:33 K:BB across 95.1 innings over his 24 appearances (14 starts). He'll likely serve as a long-relief option for Minnesota.

Chapman pitched a scoreless inning against the Brewers on Saturday, allowing one walk and striking out one batter.

Chapman missed nearly a month due to a leg infection, but he was reinstated Friday and made his return to the mound Saturday. The veteran reliever was used in a low-leverage situation in the seventh inning, so it appears that the Yankees will ease him back before potentially giving him high-leverage work (though likely not as a closer, since Clay Holmes has taken hold of that role). Though Chapman didn't allow any runs in his return, he threw only nine of 17 pitches for strikes and walked a batter. Control has been been a major issue for Chapman this season -- his 6.5 K/9 is on pace to be his worst mark since 2011 and is fifth-worst among MLB pitchers who have thrown at least 30 innings.

German allowed four runs on two hits and two walks without retiring a batter in Saturday's 9-0 loss to the Royals.

German, whose contract was selected and who was making his MLB debut, had been scheduled to pitch a full inning, per Ian Browne of MLB.com, but those plans were scrapped quickly. The Royals went walk, single, walk, single against the 24-year-old right-hander. Boston manager Alex Cora made note that Kansas City hitters didn't offer at German's secondary pitches, describing them as "away or non-competitive," so the staff will take a look at that and attempt to figure out how to make him better.

Kelly was placed on the family medical leave list Sunday.

Tanner Banks will take Kelly's place in the bullpen in advance of Sunday's bullpen game against the Tigers. Kelly has a five-appearance scoreless streak with nine strikeouts in his last 4.2 innings.

Abreu (elbow) started a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Sunday.

He has a 3.38 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 38:22 K:BB in 38 innings across 32 appearances. Abreu has missed four weeks with elbow inflammation.

Loup saved Saturday's 2-1 win against the Mariners, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

With Jimmy Herget and Jose Quijada struggling in September and Ryan Tepera working Friday, manager Phil Nevin turned to Loup to close out Saturday's one-run win. The 34-year-old retired the heart of Seattle's lineup in order on 12 pitches, though he did allow hard contact in the form of two lineouts. Loup holds a 3.96 ERA and 1.30 WHIP on the season but has been better recently with a 2.25 ERA in 16 innings across 16 appearances since the calendar flipped to August. Look for Loup and Tepera to lead Los Angeles' closer committee to finish the campaign, at least until one of them falters.

Banks was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

With Johnny Cueto (illness) potentially unavailable, the White Sox wanted to add a fresh bullpen arm. Banks has a 3.26 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 40:17 K:BB in 47 innings through 32 appearances in the majors.

Bummer picked up the save Saturday against the Tigers, allowing one run on one hit while striking out one batter and walking none over one inning.

Although Bummer gave up a run in the 11th inning of Saturday's contest, the White Sox had already given him two runs of wiggle room. Bummer was credited with the save, his second of the season. In five innings this month, the reliever has a blown save and two wins in addition to Saturday's save.

Hendriks (4-4) earned the win Saturday against Detroit, allowing no runs on no hits while striking out one and walking none over one inning.

Hendriks was called upon in the 10th inning of a tied game and shut the Tigers down thanks to a fly ball, a ground ball and a strikeout. He needed 12 pitches to get through the frame and was credited with the win. This appearance comes off the heels of a loss, though Hendriks had four saves in four straight appearances prior to the loss. The veteran closer now possesses a 3.08 ERA.

White, who was returned to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, will start for the affiliate Sunday before rejoining the Blue Jays for the stretch run, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

The Jays want White to work on his fastball command and on his changeup, which has shown promise in bullpen sessions. White could join the big-league rotation next weekend in Tampa Bay.
