Winckowski was optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Monday.

Winckowski was called up by the Red Sox on Saturday and allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three in three innings Saturday against the Blue Jays. He'll head back to the minors after Darwinzon Hernandez was recalled Monday.

Miller was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Miller made his final start of the season Sunday against the Angels, allowing seven runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out five in four innings to take the loss. He posted a 10.97 ERA and 2.25 WHIP in 10.2 innings over four appearances (two starts) in the majors this year and isn't guaranteed a major-league role to begin the 2023 campaign.

Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Rodriguez was sent to the minors in mid-August but will rejoin the big-league club for the final few games of the regular season. The right-hander hasn't yet made his major-league debut but will likely be available as a multi-inning reliever during the Rangers' three-game series against the Yankees.

Alexy was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Alexy served as the 29th man during a doubleheader against the Marlins on Sept. 12, and he allowed four runs on a hit and three walks while striking out one in one-third of an inning during an appearance in the twin bill. He was sent to the minors afterward, but he'll be available for the major-league club over the final few days of the regular season.

The Rays selected Herget's contract from Triple-A Durham ahead of Monday's game in Boston.

He'll be rejoining the big-league bullpen as a replacement for right-hander Easton McGee, who was designated for assignment after covering three innings in Sunday's loss to the Astros. Over his prior two appearances out of the Tampa Bay bullpen this season, Herget allowed two earned runs on two hits and no walks over 2.2 innings.

The Yankees reinstated Castro (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

As the Yankees begin their final series of the regular season Monday in Texas, Castro will get the chance to prove his health and show that he's worthy of a spot in the club's postseason bullpen. Before hitting the shelf in mid-July with a right shoulder strain, Castro compiled five wins and eight holds while pitching to a 4.00 ERA and 1.41 WHIP over 27 innings.

The Angels outrighted Mayers to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

Mayers was one of three Angels recently designated for assignment to clear waivers, with first baseman Mike Ford and outfielder Magneuris Sierra also getting outrighted to Triple-A on Sunday. The 30-year-old Mayers is eligible to become a free agent this offseason and may have to settle for a minor-league deal after turning in a 5.68 ERA and 1.38 WHIP across 50.2 innings with the Angels in 2022.

Gillaspie (1-0) allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn the win Sunday over the Yankees.

Gillaspie worked the sixth inning and became the pitcher of record when the Orioles took the lead for good in the top of the seventh. The 25-year-old righty has made three appearances since his latest call-up Sept. 26, allowing two runs (one earned) over 4.2 innings while recording four strikeouts. He's pitched to a 3.24 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 9:2 K:BB through 16.2 major-league innings this year, though he's worked almost exclusively in a middle-relief role.

Woods Richardson (0-1) allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks over five innings Sunday, striking out three and taking a loss against Detroit.

Woods Richardson gave up two runs in the first inning on an error and a wild pitch before serving up a solo homer to Eric Haase in the third. The right-handed rookie forced 10 whiffs while his fastball sat in the low-90s. He posted an impressive 2.77 ERA across 107.1 frames with Double-A Wichita and Triple-A St. Paul this season. Woods Richardson should get the chance to compete for a spot in the Opening Day rotation during spring training next year.

Lange (7-4) pitched a scoreless inning of relief and earned the win Sunday against the Twins. He struck out two.

Lange has worked in a middle-relief role all season with no saves, though he's had some fantasy value with the seven wins, which are actually tied for the most on the team. Reliever wins are volatile, however, so it's unclear if Lange will maintain as much fantasy appeal in 2023 if he's still setting up Gregory Soto in the Detroit bullpen.
