Graveman pitched a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 2-0 win over the Royals.

Graveman worked the ninth inning after Michael Kopech dazzled with eight innings of one-hit ball. This was Graveman's seventh consecutive scoreless outing, and he's earned a save in three of his last four appearances. Those are his only saves of the season to go with a 3.44 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB through 18.1 innings. He's also picked up six holds and figures to resume a setup role once Liam Hendriks (illness) is cleared to return to the majors.

Clase (1-4) blew a save and took the loss against the Mets on Friday. He allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits while recording two outs (one strikeout).

Clase was tasked with closing out a 9-7 game in the 10th inning and proceeded to hand the Mets a win by allowing three straight hits with two outs. He's given up seven runs (five earned) over his last 3.2 frames, spiking his ERA from 1.86 to 3.52 in the process. After blowing four of his 46 save chances last season, Clase has already blown five of his 20 opportunities in 2023.

Manager Pedro Grifol told reporters Friday that there is no set date for Hendriks (illness) to return, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Grifol confirmed that Hendriks threw around 20 pitches in his live bullpen session before the game Thursday, but he mentioned repeatedly that the team will have to meet as a group to determine his next step. Hendriks did struggle in his rehab assignment with a 10.80 ERA over five innings during six appearances with Triple-A Charlotte, but all signs point to him being ready to pitch for the White Sox in the near term.

Kansas City recalled Castillo from Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Castillo is able to be brought up just three days after being optioned to Omaha because Brad Keller (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list. Castillo could operate as a bulk reliever while he's with the Royals.

The Guardians recalled Herrin from Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Early struggles sent Herrin to Triple-A in late April, but he will return to Cleveland to take the place of Peyton Battenfield (shoulder), who landed on the 15-day injured list Friday. Aside from one four-run, 0.2-inning appearance, Herrin has been virtually flawless in Triple-A and boasts 10 strikeouts through 7.2 frames.

Pacheco reported right elbow soreness following a bullpen session Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Pacheco was cleared for mound work earlier this month as he works his way back from a UCL sprain. It's not clear yet how big of setback this might be, but given that he's dealing with ligament damage it's possible it's a significant one.

White (elbow) has been pulled off his rehab assignment due to right shoulder fatigue, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

White seemingly was close to returning from his elbow injury, but he dealt with a shoulder issue in his last rehab appearance and now will shut things down for a bit. His 30-day rehab window will re-start once the Blue Jays feel he's ready.

Cimber (back) is expected to be activated from the injured list Monday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

Cimber rejoined the Blue Jays on Thursday after a couple rehab appearances, but the team will wait a few days before officially adding him back to the roster. He has posted a 4.50 ERA over 11 relief outings in 2023.

Pop (hamstring) threw a bullpen session Friday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Pop has been on the shelf for the last two weeks with a strained right hamstring but would appear close to heading out on a rehab assignment. The reliever posted a 6.59 ERA over 15 appearances before getting hurt.

Jackson was placed on the 15-day injured list by the Athletics on Friday with a right flexor tendon strain.

It's an injury which typically results in longer than a minimum stay on the IL. Jackson was part of the closer mix in a messy A's bullpen situation but now figures to be out of commission for at least a month or so. Not a single active member of the bullpen has recorded a save this season.
