  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Cubs' Joc Pederson: Placed on 10-day IL

Pederson was placed on the 10-day injured list due to left wrist tendinitis, retroactive to April 21, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Pederson had already been out of the lineup for the last two games due to this issue. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to action, but Jake Marisnick could see increased playing time in Pederson's absence. Nico Hoerner was recalled from the Cubs' alternate training site in a corresponding move.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Not starting Thursday

Stanton isn't starting Thursday's game against Cleveland, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

Stanton had started in each of the last five games and went 2-for-17 with two home runs, three RBI and 10 strikeouts during that time. Aaron Judge will serve as the designated hitter while Clint Frazier starts in right field Thursday.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Cubs' Joc Pederson: Out against lefty again

Pederson is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

With the Mets bringing a lefty (Joey Lucchesi) to the hill for the second straight day, the left-handed Pederson will once again head to the bench. Jake Marisnick will replace Pederson in the Chicago outfield.

  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Takes batting practice

Cabrera (biceps) took part in batting practice on the field Thursday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Cabrera took batting practice in the cage earlier in the week, and he appeared to be swinging freely while hitting on the field Thursday. Although Cabrera isn't expected to face a lengthy absence due to his mild left biceps strain, a clear timetable for his return isn't yet known. Wilson Ramos and Jeimer Candelario should continue to fill in at designated hitter in his absence.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Royals' Jorge Soler: Falls triple short of cycle

Soler went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's 9-8 win over the Rays.

Soler had a massive day at the plate, taking Michael Wacha deep to left to begin the fourth and doubling off the top of the wall in the sixth. The home run was his first since Opening Day. Soler can hit the ball as hard as anyone in the league, but his slugging numbers haven't quite been what fantasy managers are looking for so far this season. The 29-year-old now owns a slash line of .208/.328/.377 with five extra-base hits, six RBI and six runs scored through his first 17 games.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Phillies' Brad Miller: Collects four hits

Miller went 4-for-5 with two runs scored during Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Giants.

The 31-year-old had only three hits all season entering Wednesday's contest, but he pounded out four singles during the series finale. Miller should continue to see extended playing time with Jean Segura (quadriceps) landing on the 10-day injured list.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Clubs fifth homer

Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-4 loss to the Rangers.

He took Mike Foltynewicz deep in the third inning, one of four solo shots by the Angels on the night. Ohtani continues to swing a hot stick, slashing .310/..355/.690 through 15 games at DH with five homers, two steals, 12 runs and 13 RBI.

  • Darin Ruf DH | MIL

Giants' Darin Ruf: Blasts three-run homer

Ruf hit a pinch-hit, three-run home run in his only at-bat in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Phillies.

Ruf pinch hit for pitcher Caleb Baragar in the seventh inning and blasted the three-run shot to tie the game at 4-4. The 34-year-old Ruf has mostly worked in a bench role this season. He has three homers, six RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base across 23 plate appearances. Only one of his four hits so far has stayed in the yard.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

    Giants' Alex Dickerson: Goes 3-for-4

Dickerson went 3-for-4 with an RBI single in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Phillies.

Dickerson put the Giants ahead in the seventh inning with an RBI single to plate Mike Yastrzemski. The 30-year-old Dickerson is slashing .239/.314/.435 with three homers, nine RBI, five runs scored and no stolen bases across 51 plate appearances this season. Wednesday was his first multi-hit effort of the year.

  • Byron Buxton CF | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Nearly plays hero Wednesday

Buxton went 3-for-6 with a double, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 13-12 extra-inning loss to the A's.

It looked like Buxton had given the Twins the win when he took Lou Trivino deep in the top of the 10th inning, but Minnesota's infield defense fell apart in the bottom half of the frame. Buxton continues to rake when he's in the lineup, and through 12 games he's hitting .432 (19-for-44) with six homers, one steal, 10 runs and 11 RBI.
