Beer started at first base and went 2-for-4 with a double in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

Beer made his first start of the season in the field, slotting in for Christian Walker, after serving as the designated hitter in his previous five starts. He went back to DH for the second game of the twin bill and went 1-for-3 with a walk. Walker, who entered the day batting .129, returned to first base for the nightcap and went 0-for-3 with a walk.

Vogelbach went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Brewers.

The 29-year-old launched a solo shot off his former teammate, Corbin Burnes, in the top of the sixth, putting the Pirates on the board for the first time. Vogelbach has now launched two home runs on the season while batting .323 at the plate.

Ford had his contract selected by the Mariners on Tuesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Ford joined the Mariners on a minor-league deal in mid-March and was unable to secure a spot on the Opening Day roster. He'll take the place of Luis Torrens (undisclosed), who was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday.

Miller (back) remains on the bench for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

Miller was scratched from the lineup Saturday against the Angels and has yet to return to action, though that does not necessarily mean he's still hurt. He's yet to start against a lefty this season, so he probably would have been on the bench both Sunday and Tuesday regardless, with the Rangers facing Jose Suarez and Robbie Ray in those two contests. Nick Solak remains the left fielder Tuesday.

Torrens (undisclosed) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Torrens was absent from Tuesday's lineup and is now away from the team. It's unclear whether or not the 25-year-old tested positive for the virus, but he won't be back until he clears the COVID-19 protocols. Cal Raleigh and Tom Murphy should continue to split work behind the plate for the Mariners in his absence.

Choi is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Choi started the past two games and will take a seat Tuesday with southpaw Justin Steele on the mound for Chicago. Harold Ramirez will take over at first base for Tampa Bay.

Soler will hit the bench Tuesday against the Cardinals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Soler sits after starting each of the season's first nine games. He's yet to really get going, slashing .167/.286/.278 while homering just once. Brian Anderson will start in left field Tuesday.

Buxton (knee) remains out of the lineup Tuesday against the Royals, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Buxton hasn't played since leaving Friday's game against the Red Sox with right knee soreness. Initial estimates were that he'd miss about a week, and the fact that he's yet to be placed on the injured list suggests he's still on that schedule. Nick Gordon will be the center fielder Tuesday.

The Mets didn't activate Canha (illness) from the COVID-19 injured list prior to the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Giants, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Both Canha and Brandon Nimmo were placed on the COVID-19 IL on Friday, and Nimmo will be the first of the two to rejoin the 28-man active roster after clearing the final stages of MLB's testing protocols earlier Tuesday. Canha could theoretically clear the protocols within the next few hours to make himself available for the second game of the twin bill, but the Mets would likely wait until Wednesday to activate him in that scenario.

Ruf is out of the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Mets, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

He'll find himself for the first time all season after generating a weak .176/.317/.235 slash line through the Giants' initial 10 games. Despite the poor start to the campaign, Ruf still looks to be locked into a near-everyday role for the Giants versus both right- and left-handed pitching while Tommy La Stella (Achilles) and LaMonte Wade (knee) remain on the injured list.
