    Blackmon went 1-for-5 with a double and two RBI on Wednesday against the Giants.

    Blackmon tallied a pair of RBI with a double in the second inning. He's taken advantage of a stretch of consecutive home games to tally nine RBI and 10 runs scored across his last 12 contests. Across 231 plate appearances, Blackmon is maintaining a wRC+ above 100 for the first time since 2019.

    Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Blasts another homer

    Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

    Alvarez took Chris Bassitt yard in the fourth inning to tally his 17th home run of the season and third in his last six starts. In addition to an impressive .968 OPS, Alvarez also leads the league in RBI with 55 across 56 games.

    Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Two steals in win

    Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a double, two stolen bases and a walk in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Cubs.

    Ohtani tried to manufacture a run in the fifth inning, but he was left on third base after a walk and two steals. He's knocked five extra-base hits, four RBI and four runs scored over his modest four-game hitting streak. Ohtani continues to be a reliable five-category producer at the plate, hitting .275 with 16 home runs, nine steals, 42 RBI and 37 runs scored through 61 games. He's added a .904 OPS, 11 doubles and three triples.

    Padres' Matt Carpenter: Two hits, steal Wednesday

    Carpenter went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a steal in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Mariners.

    Carpenter opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning before adding a second base hit in the third. It's just the second multi-hit game for Carpenter since the start of May, while the stolen base was his first since the 2021 season. Carpenter started the day in a 4-for-36 (.111) slump over his last 11 contests, though he's still seen regular playing time against right-handed pitching. He's slashing .192/.303/.362 with four homers, 26 RBI and 14 runs scored through 156 plate appearances this year.

  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: Out again Wednesday

    Morel is out of the lineup again Wednesday versus the Angels.

    It's the second straight absence for Morel, who has fallen into a 1-for-25 rut since his explosive couple of weeks in May. Trey Mancini is serving as the Cubs' designated hitter Wednesday and Mike Tauchman will patrol center field.

    Rays' Harold Ramirez: Takes seat Wednesday

    Ramirez is not in the starting lineup against the Twins on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

    Ramirez will hit for the second time in three games after going 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's win over Minnesota. Randy Arozarena is the designated hitter against the Twins on Wednesday with Manuel Margot getting a start in right field.

    Marlins' Jorge Soler: Out Wednesday vs. Royals

    Soler is not in the starting lineup against the Royals on Wednesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

    Soler returned to the lineup Tuesday after missing Monday's game with thumb soreness. It's not yet known whether his absence against Kansas City on Wednesday is related to that particular injury. Bryan De La Cruz is the designated hitter with Soler out while Jon Berti lines up in left field.

    Athletics' Brent Rooker: Uncorks 12th homer

    Rooker went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

    Rooker joined Jace Peterson in a late-game power outburst for the Athletics, blasting his 12th homer of the season on a 388-foot shot to left center in the eighth with Jonah Bride aboard. The 28-year-old hadn't left the yard since May 12, but he's now reached safely in five of the last six games.
