The Angels reinstated Soler (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday. He'll start at designated hitter and bat cleanup in the Angels' series opener versus the Orioles.

Soler had been on the shelf since June 6 due to a left oblique strain, and after he checked out well after taking on-field batting practice in recent days, the Angels elected to bring him back from the IL without having him complete a rehab assignment beforehand. Because he returned a bit earlier than anticipated, Soler could be in line for a maintenance day or two during the Angels' upcoming six-game week, but he should settle back into a near-everyday role at DH.

The Rockies optioned Thompson to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

With Mickey Moniak (ankle) making his return from the 10-day injured list, Thompson's playing time would have taken a hit had he stuck around with Colorado. He'll instead return to Albuquerque, where he will receive regular reps. Thompson put up a .688 OPS with two home runs and a 5:21 BB:K across his first 27 big-league games.

Herrera went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run, a hit-by-pitch and three runs scored in Sunday's 12-10 win over the Royals.

Herrera collected a pair of singles and delivered a three-run homer in the fifth inning off Steven Cruz for his 10th home run of the season. The catcher has been one of St. Louis' hottest hitters recently, batting .333 with a 1.134 OPS over his last 12 games. Herrera's season-long splits have been notable, as he has found considerably more success away from Busch Stadium, slashing .311/.463/.481 on the road compared to .221/.345/.379 at home.

Schwarber went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Mets.

After swatting three homers in Saturday's blowout win, Schwarber went deep again with a towering three-run homer in the second inning. The slugger has historically done some of his best work in June, and 2026 has been no exception, as he's slashing .324/.439/.632 with seven homers, 13 RBI and 15 runs scored across 18 games this month. Overall, the 33-year-old is hitting .255/.369/.603 with 52 RBI, 51 runs scored and a league-leading 29 homers in 74 contests.

Canzone suffered a right hamstring injury during Sunday's 3-1 win over the Red Sox, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Canzone exited the contest in the bottom of the sixth frame after hustling down the line on the groundout. The 28-year-old grabbed at his right leg after crossing first base, and it is now understood that he is dealing a hamstring injury. Canzone will travel with the team to Pittsburgh before Seattle will open a three-game series against the Pirates on Tuesday, and he is considered day-to-day for the time being.

Melendez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

The Mets are giving Francisco Alvarez a night off from catching but keeping his bat in the lineup at designated hitter, so Melendez will be squeezed out of the starting nine as a result. Melendez has gone hitless in nine at-bats over his last five games, bringing his average down to .191 for the season.

Canzone exited Sunday's contest against the Red Sox in the sixth inning due to a right leg injury, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Canzone pulled up lame after producing an RBI-groundout in the bottom of the sixth inning, grabbing at the back of his right leg before departing with the training staff. His day has come to a premature end having gone 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI. Luke Raley has taken over in right field against Boston.

Yoshida is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

The left-handed-hitting Yoshida will hit the bench for the third time in four games despite the Red Sox facing right-handed starting pitchers in each of those contests. With Yoshida having cobbled together an underwhelming .248/.329/.331 slash line over 164 plate appearances on the season, the Red Sox appear ready to scale back his role to see if another player can inject some life into the offense.

Bell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Unless he's used off the bench, the red-hot Bell will put a six-game hitting streak on hold while the Twins give Byron Buxton a turn in the designated hitter spot for the series finale. Bell has recorded at least one hit in 11 of his last 12 games, slashing an impressive .362/.400/.681 with four home runs, 14 RBI and nine runs over that stretch.

Thompson will start at designated hitter and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Pirates.

The Rockies have been making a concerted effort of late to open up playing time for Thompson, who will crack the starting nine for the fourth game in a row. Thompson has produced three extra-base hits over his previous three starts, bringing his OPS up to .708 through his first 75 big-league plate appearances.
